I want to tell you how to make bomb pies with tomatoes. Original recipe: I love these simple homemade baked goods! The pies turned out juicy, filling and very tasty!
Features of the dish
The name of these increasingly common pies corresponds to their shape and, of course, their mind-blowing taste and aroma. Thanks to the garlic and various herbs included in their filling, the pies have an extremely attractive smell.
This is simply an irreplaceable dish for breakfast, a wonderful snack for any occasion, especially on a picnic or while traveling. The pies are delicious both hot and cold.
And if you always have ready-made dough for such pies in the refrigerator, then the sudden arrival of guests will never take you by surprise. After all, any filling is suitable for “Bombs”, and you can prepare this wonderful dish quite quickly. Well, it’s time to talk about “Bombs” in more detail and more specifically. And you need to start the story with a test.
Useful tips for beginner craftsmen
- To create multi-colored pops, prepare mixtures of different tones and tamp them into the mold one by one.
- Use only food pigments, as they are completely safe for humans.
- If you accidentally over-moisten the workpiece, dry it on the radiator, or, observing the proportions, add bulk ingredients.
- If you have a lot of material, but not enough forms, it doesn’t matter. Press the mixture into the mold more tightly and immediately remove it, leaving it to dry without the mold.
- If the slurry does not want to stick together or crumbles after drying, it means that you have not moistened it enough.
- Use a spray bottle so as not to overdo it with the amount of water.
- If you only have solid butter, then you must melt it in a bathhouse.
- You should not use apricot and peach kernel oils, since the mass to which they are added does not retain its shape well.
- Store ready-made bombs only in a dry place, preferably sealed.
Don’t miss the opportunity to please yourself and your loved ones with bubbling bath fizz, which can, if necessary, saturate the body with vitality, or give the desired relaxation. Below is a video instruction that will help you understand the intricacies of preparing other types of bombs.
Types of dough for “Bombs”
Such pies can be made from either choux pastry or regular and puff pastry.
Yeast dough recipe
This dough is prepared from water, milk, mineral water or kefir. Although it comes out differently from different ingredients, it will always be delicious. It is better to warm the milk a little. You will need half a liter of it. In addition, you need 50 g of fresh yeast, 2 eggs, a little less than half a glass of sunflower oil, a little salt and sugar.
Cooking technology:
- Yeast is diluted with milk and sugar dissolved in it.
- When they begin to foam, add some flour to the mixture and let the dough rise well, placing it in a warm place. You also need to cover the container with the dough with a lid or napkin.
- Then the remaining flour, eggs and half the butter are added to the dough. The remaining oil will be needed to prevent the dough from sticking to your hands when kneading.
- To make it airy and light, the dough should be allowed to rise 2-3 times, each time beating it after rising.
If the pies will be baked in the oven and not fried in a frying pan, then their appearance is important. To prevent the top from cracking and to be shiny, it should be greased with beaten yolk. You can do this not before baking the pies, but a little later, removing them from the oven in the middle of the process.
To make the crust matte, the top is lubricated in the same way either with sweetened water or with yolk with sugar and milk. To ensure that the pies are crispy, they are placed in a hot oven. And if you want to achieve both a shiny top and a crispy effect in the pies, then they are greased with yolk before baking in the oven, and after the finished product is removed from the oven, the top is greased with sweet water. To do this, dissolve a teaspoon of sugar in 3 teaspoons of liquid.
Choux yeast-free dough
The yeast base of Bombochki pies is prepared as follows:
- bring a glass of water with 4 tablespoons of sunflower oil, a teaspoon of salt and sugar to a boil;
- pour 2 cups of flour into this mixture, stir;
- let the dough cool;
- then gradually add 1.5 cups of flour and stir.
Water can be replaced with a glass of low-fat kefir, yogurt or whey. You can also add a couple of tablespoons of bran to the recipe.
Recipes against stress
The perfect hot bath is synonymous with relaxation. It will help you get rid of unnecessary thoughts and stress. Especially if it contains magic bombs. Here are a few recipes that will turn ordinary tap water into a magical relaxing liquid.
Lavender with milk
We stock up on a cup, a spray bottle, a tablespoon and the following substances: soda, citric acid, sea salt, grape seed oil, crushed dry lavender and the essential essence of the same flower.
- We take a cup. Pour 4 tablespoons of soda and 2 citric acid into it. Try to combine the powders into a single mixture. To do this, rub them thoroughly with a spoon.
- Next in line is milk. Place 3 tablespoons of powdered milk into a cup.
- Add base oil there. In our recipe it is grape seed oil. And stir until smooth.
- Now it’s time for dried flowers, salt and floral ether.
- Next we need a sprayer. Pour a little water into it and sprinkle the mixture in a cup. It should foam and sizzle.
- Spread the resulting mixture tightly into the molds and leave for a short time: from 10 to 15 minutes.
- Remove from molds onto paper and leave to dry for 5-6 hours. After this time, everything is ready!
This bomb is based on lavender oil and milk. The gentle scent of the composition has a calming effect. The oil helps cope with headaches, fatigue and painful insomnia.
Almond bath
As always, we stock up on a cup, a tablespoon and a teaspoon and a spray bottle, baking soda, citric acid, a bottle of glycerin and almond oil. If you want to add a delicate lemon tint to the bombs, then prepare curry spice.
- First, mix soda (4 tablespoons) and citric acid (3 tablespoons).
- Then add glycerin (1 teaspoon), sweet almond oil (1 tablespoon) and a little water from a spray bottle.
- If desired, add one quarter teaspoon of curry, place in molds, and place tightly.
- This homemade bath bomb will take much longer to dry - about 72 hours.
However, it's worth it. Almond fizz is a great way to relax after a hard day at work. Take such a bath after sports training or any other physical activity. It will help relax your muscles and prevent pain in them the next day.
Types of fillings
The good thing about Bombochki pies is that you can choose a wide variety of fillings for them.
- Tomatoes with hard grated cheese.
- Tomatoes with cottage cheese or feta cheese.
- You can also add green onions with a boiled egg, fresh or sauerkraut to the tomatoes.
- The same tomatoes are served with fried sausage or boiled sausage and a boiled egg.
- You can combine tomatoes with minced meat, diced boiled or smoked chicken breast.
- A variety of meat fillings are also good on their own with herbs, garlic, grated cheese or a boiled egg. This is especially suitable in winter when there are no tomatoes.
- Champignons are also good for such an appetizer, with or without tomatoes. They are prepared like this:
- the stems are cut off from the mushrooms;
- they are baked in the oven;
- Allow excess juice to drain and then add to pies.
The tomatoes for the filling are not too large or fleshy, but dense.

Technology for preparing “Bombochki” pies
Usually they start preparing these pies by kneading the dough. When the dough is ready, start filling. The sequence of preparing “Bombs” using the example of the most common curd filling for them is as follows:
- An egg, garlic squeezed through a press, and finely chopped herbs: cilantro, dill or parsley are added to the cottage cheese.
- Everything is mixed and salted to taste.
- Tomatoes are cut into circles, usually 5 of them are obtained from an average tomato.
- The dough is divided into 2 parts, each of which is rolled out into a thin round layer.
- Tomato circles are placed on one of the parts at a distance of 3 cm.
- The curd mixture is spread on them.
- All this is covered with a second layer of dough and pressed tightly, and then rolled with a rolling pin.
- Using a glass, cut out circles with a diameter a couple of centimeters larger than a tomato slice.
- The edges of each pie are tightly connected and made into a fringe or wrapped like dumplings.
- Then the pies are fried on both sides until golden brown or baked in the oven.
- Place the finished “Bombs” on napkins to blot off excess oil.

Required Tools and Components
Many people love to take a warm, relaxing bath after a long day of work. What could be better than refreshing moisture than a bath with fragrant bombs. It’s not always possible to purchase such a popular product, but creating it yourself is available to almost anyone who wants it.
You can make bath bombs at home using the recipes below. However, for the most creative ones, it is quite acceptable to “turn on” creativity and add something of their own, deeply individual. You can add a variety of aromatic and essential oils, skin care products, flower petals, beneficial mineral or sea salts and clays to them.
Special equipment
If you are determined to figure out how to make a bath bomb, first select everything you need for this. Preliminary preparation will allow you not to rush around the house looking for a suitable bowl or something like that, but to calmly do your job.
- Kitchen scales, ideally electronic, to make it easier to weigh the ingredients you need. There is a separate article on how to choose such equipment on our website.
- A large container, such as a bowl, for mixing all the ingredients. It is best to take a plastic or enamel container. Aluminum vessels can oxidize, and metal decomposition products can end up in finished bombs.
- Gloves to protect hands from caustic components. You can choose rubber or latex ones, whatever you have on hand. Even non-sterile medical ones will do if they are not very thin.
- Gauze dust mask or household respirator. This is not at all necessary if you work extremely carefully. There is no need to buy expensive equipment, because making protection for yourself from several layers of ordinary gauze is not difficult.
- The same as in the previous paragraph applies to safety glasses. You can use construction ones, or you can just work very carefully.
- A sieve or sieve to sift the bulk components of the bombs. Please note that it is unlikely that you will be able to properly wash the tool after work, so it is better not to spoil the one you use for food products.
- Spray atomizer for liquids. Any device will do, for example, a bottle of old perfume, well washed, or a special sprinkler for watering flowers.
You will need molds to create improvised bombs. Moreover, if you were unable to find them in the form of a sphere, this is not at all a reason for frustration. You can use standard molds for baking cookies, freezing ice, or children's molds for playing in the sandbox. After all, it doesn’t make much difference what your highlight for bathing will be, and children will definitely be even more delighted with the original bunnies, flowers, and nuts.
Basic set of ingredients
After all the saucepans and bowls are ready for use, all that remains is to acquire all the necessary components, from which disposable “masterpieces” are created for taking pleasant baths.
- Soda.
- Lemon acid.
- Essential or aromatic oils.
- Sea or other mineral salts.
- Dried flowers.
- Regular or base oil (olive, camelina, coconut, almond, jojoba, cocoa, grape and others).
- Food colors of different colors.
In addition to the above, you may need other components, so before you begin, check the selected recipe to see if one or the other is missing.
It is best to start preparing bombs with small quantities. After all, you will probably have to conduct several experiments to finally decide on the consistency. Moreover, this is directly influenced by many factors, including weather and air humidity. For example, in the rain you need to add much less liquid, otherwise instead of a bomb you will get a gurgling, beautifully gurgling mass.
Submission rules
The pies are served warm or cold; they are delicious in any form. You can combine them with broth or tea. To make the pies look festive and stay fresh longer, they can be placed on a beautiful dish, covered with openwork napkins or a bright towel. Before serving, “Bombs” can be sprinkled with herbs.
There are several ways to serve these pies in an original way.
- Flower pies. In this case, the seven “Bombs” will be petals that are fastened together before baking. Place mashed potatoes in the middle, formed into a ball. You can put an olive cut into slices or red bell pepper in the form of sun rays on it. The potato filling must be firmly attached to all pies. This flower is baked in the oven.
- For children, an interesting variation could be a turtle pie. 4 legs, a tail and a head are made from the dough. The eyes could be peas or something else. And on the “shell” curly hexagons or circles are squeezed out, using baker’s cutters for this. The “bomb turtle” is then baked in the oven.
How to fry pies?
Heat sunflower oil in a frying pan with a non-stick bottom. Fry semi-finished products for 2-3 minutes on each side in a large amount of vegetable fat. Then place the pies on paper napkins and cool. This way you can get rid of excess fat and oil.
The pies are best served hot. Although even after cooling, the baked goods remain just as tasty, crispy and juicy. You can combine the dish with any sauce: sour cream, garlic, ketchup or adjika.
