Yogurt is a fermented milk product. And when milk, kefir or curdled milk begins to “think” (as my grandmother used to say), they are immediately used for dough. We add any familiar ingredients, according to the recipe, bake delicious treats and make our loved ones happy.

Since yogurt usually comes with fillings, pancakes or the same charlotte will take on the flavor of apricots or blueberries, and the color may be slightly pinkish from the dye that was in the yogurt (unless, of course, the yogurt is “live”, natural without additives).

If the yogurt has become not so fresh that even the label on the package is inflated, you can still prepare something with sour yogurt. To do this, carefully unscrew the label and place the yogurt in an open place so that it can completely “sour”; lactic acid bacteria will help with this and the yogurt will become like yogurt.

If there is a lot of yogurt, then it is important not to throw it away, but to prepare something. Just lubricate the top part with vegetable oil so that it does not “wind” while it turns sour.

It occurred to me to fry pancakes with this yogurt.

To the yogurt I added an egg, a little salt, soda (you don’t have to quench it with vinegar, the yogurt itself is sour), then add the flour and knead the dough, bringing the pancake dough to the desired consistency. If you wish, you can add a spoon or two spoons of semolina, but you just need to let it sit for five to ten minutes so that the semolina swells.

And you can fry pancakes.

You can do the same with yeast (I always use dry yeast).

You could also make a casserole in a frying pan or in the oven if you add a little cottage cheese.

You could also make pies, pie, donuts or buns.

Instead of flour, you can use oatmeal for pancakes, as for pancakes made with oatmeal and kefir.

I love successful, simple, and also delicious recipes. I also like to bake quick pies in a slow cooker. But, if suddenly you don’t have such an assistant, feel free to trust your oven with this task. Just one piece of advice: take a mold that is not large in diameter, but 20 cm or 18.

If you have a large family or are going to visit, prepare a double portion of pie dough. Everything is simple and fast. I was too lazy to equip myself with a whisk and my indispensable kitchen assistant, a planetary mixer, did all the work for me!

We put all the products into the bowl. The sequence does not have to be followed. To be honest, I didn’t even sift the flour. Now, using a whisk or mixer, bring the products until smooth.

Pour the pie dough into a mold or into a multicooker bowl (grease it with vegetable oil) and turn on the “baking” mode. My baking time is 50 minutes. We cannot withstand the “temperature maintenance” mode.

There are categories of shelf-stable products, and there are those with a limited shelf life. These include dairy products, including yogurt. And, as a rule, the question arises of what to do with the missing yogurt .
It’s a shame to throw it away, but it’s already scary to eat.

Pancakes made from sour yogurt

  • 2 eggs;
  • 500 grams of yogurt;
  • 3 spoons of sugar;
  • a pinch of salt.

  • Beat all ingredients in a blender, adding 375 grams of flour a little at a time. The dough will be thick, like pancakes. Add a little soda for airiness and 3 tablespoons of refined vegetable oil;
  • Heat a frying pan with 1 tablespoon of oil, pour in a little batter, fry on both sides like classic pancakes. Serve with various sweet sauces, condensed milk, honey.

The same dough is used for baking pancakes, but the dough should be a little thicker and be sure to fry in a hot frying pan with oil.

Manna

This is a unique dessert that can be baked without flour, but the taste is unforgettable. To prepare manna with yogurt, take 1 tbsp. semolina, 200 g yogurt, 0.5 tbsp. sugar, 1 tsp. baking powder and a little salt. Mix all these dry ingredients well.

Melt the butter and pour into the resulting mixture, add 2 eggs. Mix well until smooth. Do not beat with a mixer, so as not to spoil the tenderness of the dough. You can only stir with a wooden spatula.

Pour the resulting mixture into a silicone mold and place in a preheated oven at 180 degrees. Bake for 30 minutes and check with a match. If the dough is not ready, leave it for 5 minutes. Mannik with yogurt turns out delicious, and your family or guests will not guess that there is no flour in the pie.

Wonderful pie made from cherries and expired yogurt

In a bowl of sufficient depth, mix the ingredients for the dough:

  • stale yogurt - 1 cup;
  • cherry jam - 1 glass;
  • soda - 1 spoon.

  • Mix the ingredients for 10-14 minutes, then add 2 beaten eggs, add sugar to taste, 1 cup of any crushed nuts (to taste), add flour;
  • Add flour until the dough has a consistency similar to sour cream. Mix everything well;
  • Place the parchment in a baking dish, coat it with butter or margarine, pour in the dough;
  • Ready time: 1 hour or a little more. We check with a toothpick or wooden stick;
  • After the pie has cooled, it can be coated with any cream or sweet sauce.

Chocolate cupcakes

These are small cakes that can be baked in muffin tins. To prepare them you will need the following ingredients:

1. Cocoa – 3-4 tbsp. l.

2. Yogurt (preferably drinking) – 200 ml or 1 glass.

4. Sugar – approximately 130 g (more is possible, it all depends on your taste).

5. Flour – 1 cup (250 g).

5. Butter – 0.5 packs.

6. Baking powder – 5 g.

First of all, you need to sift the flour, baking powder and cocoa through a sieve and mix well. Soften the butter in advance and beat it with a mixer, gradually adding sugar. Break the eggs here and pour in the yogurt. Mix the whole mass until smooth.

Gradually add flour, baking powder and cocoa to the liquid mixture. Just do not beat with a mixer, but mix gently with a wooden spatula. Now our dough is ready, you can scatter it into molds, which must first be greased with oil.

Place the cupcakes in the oven at 180 degrees and bake for 25 minutes. Periodically check for doneness with a match or toothpick. Remember to fill the molds halfway as the dough will rise.

Stale yogurt and chocolate cupcake

Mix in a bowl:

  • 375 grams of yogurt;
  • 500 grams of flour;
  • 3 pieces of eggs;
  • 250 grams of sugar;
  • 3 grams of baking powder (if this is not available, add soda or 20 grams of fresh lemon juice).

  • Divide the mixed dough into a couple of parts. Place 50 grams or 75 grams of cocoa into one of the parts (the more, the more chocolatey it will be);
  • Place the parchment in the mold, coat with butter, alternately placing a tablespoon of chocolate and white dough (for speed, you can increase the number of spoons);
  • When the dough is finished, place the dough in the pan in the oven for 30 or 40 minutes to bake;
  • If desired, grease the prepared pie with any glaze or cut it into two parts to soak in cream or any other sweet sauce;
  • Serve on the table.

A similar pie is also called “Zebra”.

Lost yoghurt is the perfect base for a great sponge cake.

Mix in a bowl:

  • cocoa - 1 glass;
  • baking powder - 10 grams;
  • flour - 300 grams;
  • a pinch of salt;
  • 7 grams of soda;
  • sugar - 250 grams.

  • 250 grams of yogurt with 3 eggs and half a glass of vegetable oil;
  • beat with a mixer until completely mixed;
  • Pour the second mixture into the first, stir thoroughly.
  • Place the parchment in a baking dish, coat it with any oil, place the prepared dough on it and bake in the oven until done;
  • Check the readiness of the pie using a toothpick or wooden stick.
  • Boil 1 glass of milk (fresh), sugar - 120 grams, a pinch of vanillin (or replace with a vanilla stick). Separately, beat milk (fresh) - 1 glass, flour - 4 spoons, 1 egg;

  • For the prepared sponge cake, which has already cooled, we trim the edges to give it a cake shape, cut it in half, soak it in the middle and on top with cream; The remains of the sponge cake can be crushed, sprinkled on the top and covered with cream;
  • Grease the edges of the sponge cake with cream on all sides and leave for an hour to soak;

You don't need to throw away the yogurt that's not the freshest right away. You can make a delicious cherry pie from it and other ingredients. To prepare it, take one glass of yogurt, one glass of jam, two eggs, one glass of nuts, one glass of flour, cherries and whipped cream for decoration.
