Many housewives have their own recipes for making pancakes, which are passed down from generation to generation. Less fortunate are those who do not have such recipes, but really want to please their family with delicious pancakes. There are many recipes for making pancake dough. Each differs in the basis for the dough, as well as auxiliary ingredients: yeast, baking powder, soda. The fluffy pancakes on Snezhka are quick and easy to prepare, and their taste is simply unforgettable.

What to cook from expired snowball?

If the “snowball” drink has expired, what can you prepare with it?
How can you use an expired snowball?

Expired (sour) snowballs can be used in baking; this does not affect its taste in any way.

But we are talking about a snowball that expired quite recently, 2 - 4 days ago.

I wouldn’t add snowballs that were a week or more overdue.

Recipe 1

You can bake a pie with cottage cheese and bananas.

This pie does not require a large number of ingredients (no butter or margarine is used at all), it cooks very quickly and is at the same time very satisfying.

200 grams of cottage cheese (one pack).

1.5 cups snowball.

bananas: 1 large banana or 2 small bananas.

1 cup of flour with a small slide.

0.5 cups sugar.

baking powder / soda, slaked with citric acid.

1) Pour the snowball into a bowl, add egg and sugar. Mix everything.

2) Then you need to sift the flour through a sieve and mix everything thoroughly. The dough will be soft (like for pancakes).

3) Add baking powder or slaked soda, mix again.

4) Cut the fruit bananas into circles (the circles can be cut into 2 more parts) and add them evenly to the dough.

5) Finally, add the pre-shredded cottage cheese, mix and pour everything into the mold.

The pie should be baked at 180 degrees (it is better to preheat the oven), cooking time is about 25-30 minutes.

Recipe 2

You can make the simplest cookies using snowballs.

200 grams of butter or margarine (this is one pack).

0.5 cups of snow.

1 cup of sugar.

baking powder / soda, slaked with citric acid.

1) Mix the ingredients in the following order: eggs and sugar (they need to be ground together), snowball, softened butter / margarine, sifted flour, baking powder / slaked soda. Mix everything thoroughly each time, the dough should end up elastic and smooth.

2) Place the dough in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.

3) Take out the dough and roll it out (about the thickness of a finger), then sprinkle with sugar. The place where you will roll it out can be sprinkled with a little flour.

4) We cut out various figures using special shapes or some improvised objects.

Bake cookies at 180 degrees, cooking time - 20 minutes.

The fermented milk product “Snowball” can be used for baking.

For example, add to baked goods.

Expired Snowball is also suitable for pancakes and pancakes.

In general, we add expired food where heat treatment is required - gravy for hedgehogs and cutlets, custard sauce for meat.

We buy a snowball for our son every night. Sometimes there is an open pack left. And sometimes there is even an unopened snowball in the refrigerator. Snowball can be used in baking.

But provided that the delay is no more than 3 days. If it is overdue longer, it is better to throw away such a snowball.

You can bake manna from snowballs and replace kefir. To do this, pour a glass of semolina and a glass of snow, mix and leave so that the semolina swells. Add baking powder or slaked soda, granulated sugar to taste, and salt. Sometimes I add a little flour and an egg.

Bake in a preheated oven.

You can also make pancakes (and in fact almost anything where you can add kefir, just replace the kefir with snowball).

If the snowball is expired by a couple of days, then there is no need to throw it away; you can use it to make pancakes.

Take a snowball, add flour, a little soda, mix everything well, the consistency of the dough should be medium.

Next, heat the frying pan, pour in sunflower oil, and use a spoon to form pancakes. Fry on both sides until golden brown.

You can serve pancakes with jam, jam, sour cream, honey or condensed milk.

Dough recipes

As you've probably noticed, I really love baking. But I don’t have the patience to stay in the kitchen for more than an hour or an hour and a half. Therefore, I try to use dough recipes that do not take much time, and most importantly, are very tasty.

Kefir dough with cheese

  • 1 cup kefir
  • 1 cup grated cheese
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 2/3 teaspoon soda
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 2 cups of flour

If you grate the cheese on a coarse grater, you will get excellent flatbreads and sausages in the dough, and if you grate it on a fine grater, you will get a good dough for other small baked goods, such as bagels, etc.

Unleavened dough with sour cream

  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 cups of flour
  • 2 tbsp. spoons of sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon soda
  • 1 egg
  • 100 g milk
  • 50 grams of melted margarine

Every home has products for this test. Therefore, it is especially popular. You can use it to simply bake cakes for tea, or you can make pies with any filling.

Yeast dough with kefir

  • 1 glass of kefir
  • 0.5 cups vegetable oil
  • 1 tbsp. spoon of sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon dry yeast (50g wet)
  • 2.5 cups flour

My grandmother used this unique dough. And she was a master of all sorts of tricks. The dough is not greasy, fluffy, good for savory baked goods, or for products that you will fry in oil. I baked Khachapuri and garlic buns from it.

Dissolve yeast in kefir at room temperature. Then add the rest of the ingredients and knead the dough. Leave for an hour and a half to rise.

Kefir-based dough (five minutes)

  • 2 eggs
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 glass of kefir
  • 1 teaspoon soda

Quench the soda with kefir, add eggs, salt, flour and mix thoroughly. Ready. The dough is light, fluffy and most importantly, without a drop of fat. You can cook any pie and even pizza with it. Just the filling should not be wet. I have a pie with raw minced meat. It turned out great.

Unleavened yeast dough

  • Whey (you can use milk or kefir) – 300 ml
  • Yeast (50 g fresh or 1 teaspoon dry)
  • Margarine – 250 gr
  • Salt – 1/2 teaspoon
  • Sugar – 1/2 cup
  • Flour – 4-5 glasses
  • 3 eggs

Dissolve the yeast in the warm whey. Melt the margarine. Knead the dough from all the ingredients and put it in the refrigerator. Do not make the dough thick, because the margarine will harden in the refrigerator. It's better to do it at night. In the morning you can start baking. The good thing about the dough is that the longer it sits in the refrigerator, the better it gets. It's a pleasure to work with him. It is suitable for both sweet and savory baked goods. I bake bagels, cheesecakes, sweet pies, chocolate rolls, and much more from it. Very good for beginners.

Unleavened yeast dough

  • 0.5 l milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tbsp. spoon of sugar
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 4-5 cups flour
  • 30 g wet yeast

Let's make the dough. Dissolve yeast in warm milk, add salt, sugar, butter and flour. Mix everything thoroughly, put it in a bag and tie it on top, leaving room for rising and in the refrigerator overnight.

Tender pancakes on Snezhka

A fermented milk drink called “Snowball” is widely popular. Many people like to use it as a base for pancake batter. It makes the pancakes noticeably more fluffy, tender and soft.

Pancakes turn out tender and tasty if you use “Snowball” to prepare them.

Very often, housewives use “Snowball” pancakes, which have already been standing in the refrigerator for some time. Professionals advise using only fresh products and avoiding expired ones.

When preparing the dough, keep in mind that the Snezhok drink has a sweet taste, so you can add a little more salt to the dough than usual. These pancakes are easy to make for breakfast. You can cook cocoa with them - this combination will invigorate you until lunch.

How to make your own drink?

For those who do not trust store-bought products or want to personally control the cooking process, a recipe for making “Snowball” at home is suitable. So, for 1 liter of milk you will need about 100-150 g of starter. You can purchase a special starter at a pharmacy or make it yourself. After boiling, the milk is cooled to 40 degrees, the starter is added and mixed. The dishes are covered and left for a day in a warm place. The finished product is cooled in the refrigerator for several hours and eaten. This homemade drink “Snowball” can be stored for no more than three days.

If desired, sugar is added to the product, especially if you are making it for children. You can also use fruit syrups, jams, fresh fruits and berries as a filler.

Thus, “Snowball” is not only a tasty delicacy, but also a very healthy product, which is quite easy to make at home.

Pancakes on Snezhka: recipe with apples

Every housewife loves to surprise her household with new dishes. And if simple pancakes are already boring, you can offer them pancakes with apples. They can be grated or cut into medium-sized slices and then added to the dough.

It is important to note that the apples will release juice, so you may need additional flour - the dough should not be liquid.

Pancakes turn out sweet and tasty if they are cooked on Snezhka. This dessert can be served with jam or jam. Pancakes can be cooked in the oven, or you can fry them in a frying pan.

Pancake recipe:

  1. Wash, peel, cut or grate the apples.
  2. “Snowball” is mixed with sugar, water, salt, eggs. Mix well.
  3. Add flour and soda. Stir until the lumps are gone.
  4. Throw apples into the mixture. Add flour if necessary.
  5. Before frying, grease the frying pan with oil and heat it up.

Pancakes should be fried over low heat with the lid closed - this will give them tenderness and softness. It is important to ensure that the apples are baked. Pancakes are served with honey, jam or sour cream.

Cupcake "Snowball"

Details Parent Category: Baking Category: Cupcakes
Ingredients:

  • Kefir - 1 glass
  • Sugar (granulated sugar) - 1 cup
  • Chicken eggs - 2 pcs.
  • Margarine - half a pack (125 grams)
  • Tangerine (orange, lemon) zest - 1 teaspoon
  • Wheat flour - 1.5 cups
  • Baking soda - 0.5 teaspoon
  • Powdered sugar - 2-3 tablespoons

Cooking method:

The recipe for this delicious cupcake is very simple! First you need to melt the margarine over low heat and cool it. Next, beat the eggs and sugar well. Soda can be quenched with vinegar (table vinegar 9%), or you can simply add it to kefir and mix.

Pour beaten eggs with sugar and margarine into kefir and soda, mix thoroughly. Then add the zest of the selected fruit (tangerine, orange or lemon) and sifted flour through a sieve. Beat the resulting mixture well until foam forms. The dough should turn out like thick sour cream.

You can make either one large cupcake or several small cupcakes using this recipe - it all depends on your desire and the availability of cupcake molds of different sizes. I got 7 small cupcakes and 1 large one.

So, grease the mold and molds for our cupcakes with vegetable oil. Place the dough into 2/3 of the mold. Bake the cupcakes in a preheated oven at 200° and on medium level for 25-30 minutes. We check readiness with a match - we pierce the cupcake with a match and if the dough is already ready inside, turn off the oven and take out our delicious cupcakes. We brew fresh tea and invite the family to the table. Oh, and don’t forget to sprinkle the cooled cupcakes with powdered sugar.

Try it! It's very tasty and inexpensive!

Bon appetit!

For reference:

* soda slaked with vinegar - drop a little table vinegar onto a spoon with soda so that the soda dissolves in it.

Fluffy pancakes on Snezhka without eggs

Some people don't eat eggs for many reasons. They can cause allergies or are poorly tolerated by the body. But you shouldn’t deny yourself delicious pastries because of this.

It is quite possible to prepare fluffy pancakes on Snezhka without adding eggs to the dough

It’s easy to prepare the base for the dough without using eggs - you need to use a xylo-milk drink called “Snowball” as a base.

Pancakes based on it are deliciously tender. It's amazing that they keep their shape even the next day. But usually they are sold out at one time - they are so delicious.

How to cook pancakes:

  1. Remove the “snowball” from the refrigerator in advance - it should not be cold.
  2. Add sugar, salt and mix thoroughly until the crystals dissolve.
  3. Add flour and soda to the mixture. The dough is mixed, but not beaten.
  4. You can fry pancakes in sunflower or butter - the choice depends on the preferences of the cook.
  5. The pancakes should be fried evenly on different sides.

Pancakes are softer if you use butter for frying. But it is important not to overdo it, as pancakes that are too fatty can have a bad effect on your stomach. Traditionally, pancakes are eaten with sour cream, condensed milk or jam.

Drink "Snowball" - benefits and harm

“Snowball” is very popular among lovers of fermented milk products. Produced since the USSR since 1970. It gained such popularity thanks to its composition, which does not contain chemical additives. The main differences between Snezhka and other fermented milk products are its sweet taste and the content of the Bulgarian bacillus, a microorganism that prevents the development of putrefactive microflora in the body. The product is an excellent alternative to fermented baked milk and kefir. At first glance, it seems that this product is useful for everyone and cannot cause harm. Is this so, let's try to figure it out.

What is "Snowball"?

“Snowball” is a fermented milk product that has a delicate sweetish taste. It is made on the basis of sourdough and whole cow's milk (pasteurized).

You can also add berries and fruits, syrups and sugar (to taste). Prepared by keeping a homogeneous mass at a temperature of 85°C for 10 minutes and cooling to 38-42°C. Typically the fat content of the product is 2.5%.

The drink differs in the mass fraction of fat.

  • The drink is well absorbed by the body.
  • Helps improve metabolism and normalize intestinal motility.
  • Normalizes water-salt metabolism in the human body. Therefore, it is recommended for people with cholecystitis, atherosclerosis and other diseases of the liver and kidneys, and gout.
  • Restores the functioning of the stomach and intestines.
  • Recommended for people with gastritis and peptic ulcers.
  • The lactic acid contained stimulates the action of digestive enzymes.
  • As a result of consuming the product, energy consumption during digestion of food is reduced.
  • Helps restore strength after sports or illness (because of this feature, “Snowball” is often used to feed patients).
  • Rich in vitamins (A, B, C, E, D, H, K, P), macro- and microelements (phosphorus, sodium, magnesium, iron, potassium, calcium, iodine, cobalt, molybdenum, chlorine, aluminum, manganese and others ).
  • Stimulates the secretion of gastric juice and improves appetite.
  • It has low calorie content, so it is useful for people on a diet. But you should not abuse the product!
  • Does not increase acidity, unlike kefir.
  • The product is a powerful antioxidant that helps reduce the negative impact of the environment on the body.
  • The microorganisms that make up the drink suppress putrefactive microflora, “slow down” putrefactive processes, and stop the formation of toxic protein breakdown products.
  • Strengthens the skeletal system (especially useful for children).
  • Helps with pancreatitis, gastritis, and inflamed stomach.
  • Restores the functioning of the stomach and intestines.
  • In breastfeeding women, the quality of breast milk improves.
  • Helps restore the body after childbirth.
  • Quickly quenches thirst.
  • Has a choleretic effect.
  • The drink regulates the acid-base balance.
  • Promotes mineralization of teeth.

Olya, thank you for the recipes! Should I put the jam directly into the dough or is it for soaking later? Approximately how much flour?

sour cream cake! Prague. Especially if it is very expired or sour, the cake is simply delicious. 2 large eggs, half a glass of sugar, beat, add half a can of condensed milk, beat again into sour cream - a level teaspoon of soda, stir well so that the sour cream begins to swell; one and a half cups of flour, stir well, divide into two parts. Pour the first one into the mold and bake. Add cocoa to the second one, bake in the second form

I usually add butter to the cream with the remaining half a can of condensed milk.

Also, do not forget to put flour and soda or baking powder into the future manna so that it rises and delights you with its splendor.
  • Grease a frying pan (if you have one, you can use a special manna pan) with a little butter. Pour the mixture evenly over it and place in the oven. Leave for 40 minutes.
