How to make bun topping using butter, flour and sugar

First, let's learn how to make crumbs, which are also called streusel or confectionery crumbs. This is what is used for powdering. It's easy to prepare. There is no need to bake anything in advance. While your dough is rising, you can easily cook it slowly. To do this you will need a dry bowl, a fork and your hands.

Ingredients:

  • Flour – 4 tbsp. l.;
  • Butter – 50 gr.;
  • Sugar – 2 tbsp. l.

Preparation:

1. Remove the butter from the refrigerator in advance so that it becomes melted and soft. It will be better to work with him that way. Or melt it in the microwave, but then be sure to cool it. Put it in a bowl.

2. Add sugar and rub everything well. The mixture should be creamy.

3. Gradually add flour to it. We also grind. Quite large crumbs will form. Then start working with your hands. Rub the whole mass properly, then there will be quite small lumps. Place the finished ones in the refrigerator until needed.

Now let's get to the buns themselves.

Honey fudge

Fudge with the addition of natural honey turns out very aromatic and tasty.

Ingredients:

  • 35 g butter;
  • 50 g cocoa powder;
  • 60 g natural honey;
  • 45 g of full-fat homemade sour cream.

Cooking algorithm:

  1. Mix all ingredients in a deep saucepan and place on low heat.
  2. Bring to a boil and cook, stirring continuously, for about ten minutes.

Apply the fudge to the buns when slightly cooled, carefully spreading them over the surface of the product with a special spatula.

Airy buns with sprinkles and dough like fluff

This recipe is very simple. But the products turn out incredibly tasty and airy. These squirrels can be eaten with tea or milk. The most important thing is that preparing them will not take you much time. Let's get started.

Ingredients:

for test:

  • Flour – 600 gr.;
  • Butter – 100 gr.;
  • Yolks – 4 pcs.;
  • Sugar – 4 tbsp. l.;
  • Milk – 250 ml;
  • Dry yeast – 8 g;
  • Vanilla sugar – 1 tsp;
  • Salt – 0.5 tsp.

for sprinkling:

  • Butter – 50 gr.;
  • Sugar – 100 gr.;
  • Flour – 4 tbsp. l.

Preparation:

1. First, heat the milk. It should be warm, not hot. Pour it into a bowl. Add yeast, 1 tablespoon of sugar and 2 tablespoons of flour there. Stir and cover the cup with a lid or cling film. Place in a warm place for 15 – 20 minutes. During this time, the mixture should be covered with a yeast cap.

If the milk is hot, the yeast will cook in it and everything will have to start over. They won't work when it's cold.

2. Melt the butter in the microwave or over steam. Then be sure to let it cool.

3. The dough is ready. Add salt, sugar, yolks, vanilla sugar or vanillin to it. Beat with a whisk or fork. Then we begin to gradually introduce flour. It can be sifted directly into the mixture or done in advance. When the mass is already thick, add butter and the rest of the wheat. Knead with your hands until the dough is homogeneous and soft, not sticking to your hands. Place it in a cup greased with vegetable oil and cover with cling film. Leave in a warm place for 30 minutes.

4. During this time the dough has risen. We knead it and leave it for the same amount again. Then we put it on a table sprinkled with flour and divide it into small pieces. Their size depends only on your preferences. Only later will the buns be small or large.

5. We form them into cones and place them on a baking sheet greased with vegetable oil or covered with parchment. Let them rise for 15 – 20 minutes.

6. During this time, we will prepare the lubricant. Mix the yolk with two tablespoons of water or milk. Lubricate the workpieces with this mixture and sprinkle with powder. I described how to do it above. Place in the oven preheated to 180° for 20 - 25 minutes.

You can determine readiness when your products become beautiful and rosy.

We take out the finished ones and immediately serve them on the table with a cup of tea or a glass of milk.

The unusual ingredient that is included in the fondant gives a completely different, original taste to the buns. The kids will definitely love your experiment, and this recipe is sure to become popular in your family not only for buns, but also for pastries and cakes.

  4. Apply to the buns using a spatula and leave to dry for an hour and a half.

Small pieces of marmalade may not melt, but this will only decorate the baked goods.

Yeast dough buns with filling

In the previous recipe we made very tasty products. I also want to make rich buns with filling. It doesn't matter what exactly you use. The main thing is that it is thick. Jam is not suitable for such purposes. But any jam, jam or boiled condensed milk is exactly what we need.

  • Butter – 50 gr.;
  • Chicken egg – 1 pc.;

Preparation:

1. Pour warm milk into a bowl. Add yeast to it, 1 tablespoon of sugar from the total volume and 4 tablespoons of flour. Mix and cover with cling film. Place in a warm place to rise for 20 minutes.

2. While the dough is rising, let’s make the pastry. To do this, break an egg into a clean cup. Add salt and sugar to it. Beat with a whisk or mixer. Then pour in the cooled melted butter. Let's stir again.

3. Add the egg mixture to the yeast mixture and whisk everything with a whisk. When it becomes homogeneous, add sifted flour in small portions. In this way we knead the dough.

4. When a fork or whisk cannot cope, then transfer the mixture to the table. Add vegetable oil and the rest of the flour to it and knead with your hands. It should be soft and not stick to your hands. Transfer it to a bowl greased with oil and cover with cling film. Leave for 30 - 40 minutes to rise.

5. During this time, prepare the topping. Pour flour and sugar into a cup. Add soft butter and rub everything with your hands. You should get fine crumbs.

7. Place on a baking sheet greased with vegetable oil and leave for 10 minutes.

Recipe for sprinkle buns just like in the store

I'm sure many people like these store-bought items. Maybe someone doesn’t buy them now, but they remember them from childhood. They have jam on top and are sprinkled with very tasty crumbs. We will make jam inside and decorate with confectionery crumbs that we make ourselves.

Ingredients:

for test:

  • Milk – 200 ml;
  • Flour – 500 gr.;
  • Dry yeast – 10 g;
  • Chicken egg – 2 pcs.;
  • Sugar – 3 tbsp. l.;
  • Vanilla sugar – 1 sachet;
  • Vegetable oil – 4 tbsp. l.;
  • Salt – 1 pinch;
  • Jam - for filling;

for powder:

  • Sugar – 20 gr.;
  • Butter – 20 gr.;
  • Flour – 30 gr.

Preparation:

1. Pour warm milk into a bowl. Add salt, sugar, vanilla sugar, yeast. We also break the eggs. Stir and add the sifted flour. The dough should be soft and slightly sticky to your hands.

Be sure to sift the flour. This way we not only get rid of lumps and debris, but also saturate it with oxygen. This way our products will be more airy.

2. Transfer the mass to the table. Pour vegetable oil onto it and begin to knead, pressing it in. Place the finished mixture in a bowl and cover with film or a towel. Leave until the dough doubles or triples in volume.

3. After time has passed, place it again on the table, greased with vegetable oil. We divide it into equal parts. Roll each one into a flat cake. Place a teaspoon of filling in the middle and seal the edges together. Place on a baking sheet greased or lined with baking paper.

4. Mix the egg and a spoonful of milk and grease our products. Sprinkle crumbs on top. See above for how to do it. Place in the oven, preheated to 180 - 200 degrees, for 15 - 20 minutes.

How to dust baked goods with powdered sugar

How and what to do it correctly.
Sprinkle hot or cold baked goods.

Powdered sugar in German baked goods.

In Germany, powdered sugar is a very popular baking product. It is used not only for decoration. In German cookie dough recipes, regular sugar is often replaced with powdered sugar. Then the shortbread cookies will be softer and more crumbly.

In addition, powdered sugar is like a lifesaver - the fastest and easiest way to correct surface defects. Below is a photo of my streusel pie. It was too juicy, so it turned out pale on top. Sorry, no pink crust. I sprinkled it with powder and everything is fine.

Using sprinkles, you can add aroma and taste to baked goods by mixing the powder with vanilla sugar or spices. It turns out easy and tasty if you put cardamom pods in a bag of powdered sugar in advance. When sprinkled, they will, of course, remain on the sieve.

There are a lot of tips on German culinary forums on how to make powdered sugar yourself, including from brown cane sugar. By the way, brown powder is not used for future use, because it does not store well, strongly absorbs moisture from the air and turns into lumps.

How to dust baked goods with powdered sugar if you don't have a sieve

As you know, the simplest and most popular tool is a fine sieve. If you have sieves with cells of different sizes, you can use two, it will turn out beautifully like a Swiss cookie.

If you don't have a sieve, you can sprinkle the cookies through a tea strainer or using a tea spoon. For a small portion of baked goods, a spoon is ideal. The main thing is to put the powder into it correctly. There should be enough of it so that the spoon is tightly closed. Otherwise it won't work out neatly.

For small baked goods, there is a third method: Pour powdered sugar into a bowl. Gently roll the cookies, turning them over with a spoon in a bowl of powder.
