What to cook from puff pastry: 20 quick and tasty recipes
Puff pastry classics - puff pastries with condensed milk
A sweetness closely associated with puff pastry is puff pastry. The filling can be very different: from onions with rice to rose jam. But the classic option is boiled condensed milk as a cream surrounded by airy, golden, crispy puff pastry. There are no restrictions on its choice: homemade frozen preparation or purchased in a store is used.
Ingredients:
- unleavened puff pastry – 1 package;
- boiled condensed milk – 1 can;
- egg (large) – 1 pc.;
- powdered sugar.
How to cook:
Open the package. Defrost the dough by placing the sheets on a floured, flat surface that is convenient for working. Cover with film or cellophane to prevent the surface from weathering during thawing.
Roll out the separated sheets into a layer 3-4 mm thick. Cut into small squares. Fold in half, marking the fold line. Unbend. Place boiled condensed milk/jam on the bottom part (in the middle) - 1 des.l. Bend again. Press the edges with your finger/silicone spatula to seal the edge of the puff pastry.
Make three cuts: in the middle of the protruding tubercle with filling, on both sides of it.
Line a baking sheet with pastry paper/parchment. Place the puff pastries, keeping a space of 3-5 cm between the pastries.
Beat the egg (until it becomes slightly foamy). Dip a brush into the egg “paint” and lubricate the workpieces.
Preheat the oven to 230°C. Bake for 15-20 minutes. - until the puff pastries turn golden.
Cool slightly. Sprinkle (amply or not - everyone chooses for themselves) with powdered sugar.
Advice! You can deviate from the traditional rectangular shape of the puff pastry: make triangles by folding the dough squares diagonally and roll them into rolls. Instead of boiled condensed milk cream, use thick jam, confiture, chocolate (bars, sweets, divided into parts). The more options for treats, the richer the table, the more interesting the dessert.

Apple roses
An original option for quickly preparing a crispy dessert of the “sudden guests on the doorstep” category. Puff pastries in the shape of an elegant flower are an ideal table decoration. A delicacy made from ready-made puff pastry without yeast can be served either on a large dish, laid out in a pyramid, in one layer on a tray covered with a green napkin, or personally for each person - on a saucer. The result is the same - the delight of those treated.
Ingredients:
- dough – 250 g;
- dense, juicy, sweet red apples (“Korobovka”, “Lungwort”, “Slast Scarlet”, “Belarusian Sweet”, “Melba”, “Lobo”, “Champion”, “Orlik”) - 2 pcs.;
- powdered sugar - arbitrary amount;
- jam, jam, boiled condensed milk (one of your choice) – 2 tbsp;
- flour – 1-2 handfuls;
- water.
How to cook:
Sprinkle flour on your work surface – table/silicone mat/wide board. Place the defrosted dough in a gentle mode (at room temperature - without heat treatment). Roll out - a layer 2-3 mm thick. Cut lengthwise into 6 equal strips.
Wash the apples. Drain. Divide in half/quarters. Remove the core. Cut into “petals” - as thin (transparent) plates as possible. Place in a deep microwave-safe container. Fill with filtered water. Place in the microwave. Set the power to 800-1000 W. Leave for 2-4 minutes. Control (!) - you need to get soft slices, not puree.
Grease each prepared dough strip with jam/preserve/condensed milk along the middle, leaving the edges untouched.
Place apples on the top edge (stepping onto the sweet mass) so that there are no gaps between them - in a semicircle up.
Close the edges of the apple “lace” by wrapping the strips of dough with the bottom of the clean edge.
Roll the filled ribbons into a roll, forming “buds” with the apples facing inward.
Place the “flowers” into cupcake (muffin) tins to prevent them from spreading during baking. Preheat the oven to 180°C. Bake for 30-35 min. until golden brown.
Remove the finished puff pastries. Cool. Sprinkle with powdered sugar (you can mix it with cinnamon, this will make the delicacy even more flavorful). Serve elegant roses for tea.
