The modern tradition of baking cookies for New Year and Christmas came to us from foreign films and Christmas books. We are much more accustomed to planing Olivier or hiding herring under a fur coat. However, when we become parents, we change our habits and traditions a little, including New Year’s ones.
If you decide to do something special this year with your child, then here are some cookie recipes that you can prepare and eat together - with a cup of cold milk or fragrant tea.
Important Tips for Making Homemade Cookies
To make shaped cookies perfect, you should follow some principles:
- Do not use an aluminum container as the dough may turn gray. A glass, plastic or any other bowl will do.
- The edges of the molds are dipped in flour to prevent the dough from sticking.
- It is better to roll out the dough into a layer with a rolling pin. If you don't have one, a jar or glass will do.
- As soon as the figures in the oven acquire a golden color, the cookies are ready.
- It is better to leave the treat on the baking sheet until it cools completely. This will prevent the finished products from becoming brittle. Only then are they placed in a vase.
