Bean soup with cabbage and brisket in Polish

Delicious canned bean soup can be cooked with the addition of a variety of vegetables, such as cabbage. The recipe recommends using bacon, but you can substitute it with brisket. For the soup to be tasty, the cabbage must be fresh. If you don't have chicken broth, you can use plain water.

Required:

  • Canned white beans – 300 g.
  • Bacon – 200 g.
  • Cabbage – 1/4 of a medium head of cabbage.
  • Onions – 1-2 pcs.
  • Carrots – 130 g.
  • Celery root.
  • Garlic – 3 cloves.
  • Chicken bouillon.
  • Parsley.
  • Salt.
  • Pepper.

Preparation:

  1. Potatoes do not need to be cut into cubes. It is enough to cut lengthwise into several parts. Add to the broth. Close the lid. Place on low heat.
  2. Cut the bacon into strips. Place in a frying pan with oil. Fry until golden brown.
  3. Simmer the chopped onion in a saucepan until golden brown. Grate the carrots using a medium grater. Fry separately until soft.
  4. Mash the boiled potatoes with a masher. As a result, you will not get a puree, and a normally crushed vegetable will not become oaky. The soup will turn out much tastier and will last longer in the refrigerator.
  5. Finely chop the cabbage. You can use any amount, thereby making the soup thicker or thinner. Pour into broth. Cook until half cooked.
  6. Rinse the beans, but if desired, you can add them along with the marinade. Add to soup.
  7. Grate the celery root on a fine grater. Place in a frying pan with oil. You cannot immediately add it raw to the soup, otherwise the root will not fully reveal its unique taste. Use the amount of celery according to your own preferences.
  8. Separately, fry the chopped garlic cloves with oil. Add bacon to soup. Cook for 5 minutes.
  9. Add fried onions, carrots, garlic and celery. Add some salt. Pepper if desired. Stir.
  10. Sprinkle with chopped parsley. Serve hot. Bon appetit!
