I recently discovered a very tasty recipe for scallops in creamy garlic sauce. This dish contains relatively few calories, so it is suitable for fasting days. Thanks to the cream, the taste is very delicate and velvety. If you want to prepare a more satisfying version, just add a little spaghetti to the scallops, they will have time to cook. Ingredients for scallops in cream sauce:

  • Scallops – 500 grams
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Butter - 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic - 2 cloves
  • Cream 35% - 3 tablespoons
  • Water - 1/4 cup
  • Dry white wine - 2 tablespoons
  • Lemon - 1/4 piece
  • Parsley - 1/2 tablespoon

How to cook scallops in creamy sauce with garlic?

  1. Let's start with the scallops first. Thaw them completely if necessary. Rinse thoroughly and then dry with paper towels or a colander. Season them with salt and pepper to taste. In a thick-bottomed frying pan, heat the olive oil and butter thoroughly. Fry the scallops on both sides until nicely browned and set aside. Be careful not to overcook them on the fire.
  2. Now let's make the creamy garlic sauce. In the same pan, fry finely chopped garlic. This will take you literally a minute, the main thing is that the characteristic smell stands out. Add cream, wine, water, salt and cayenne pepper to taste. Cook over low heat, stirring frequently, until the sauce reaches the desired thickness.
  3. Add scallops to cream sauce and stir to coat. Turn off the heat and then add thinly sliced ​​lemon wedges and chopped parsley to the pan. Let the dish sit for a couple of minutes to allow all the flavors to meld, then serve.

Casserole with cheese

It can be made from either frozen or canned shellfish. A 160 g jar is sufficient for the latter; if you take raw ones, make sure to double the amount, as they decrease in volume when cooked. In addition, you will need 120 g of cream, grated hard cheese (a little, 50 g is enough), breadcrumbs and finely chopped parsley (at least a teaspoon, but the amount can be increased).

First, the cream is well heated. The scallops are lowered into them. If you took canned ones, just drain the marinade and cut; if frozen, cook without defrosting, adding a small amount of your favorite spices to the water. After a couple of minutes in the cream, the shellfish are placed in a heat-resistant bowl, sprinkled with breadcrumbs and grated cheese, and then placed in the oven for 15 minutes at 190 degrees. The result is a very appetizing scallop - the photo serves as a vivid illustration.

  • heavy cream – 200 ml;
  • hard cheese – 150 g;
  • chicken egg – 1 pc.;
  • salt, ground pepper - to taste.

  1. Preparatory stage. First remove 500 grams of scallops from the freezer and defrost. Use a sieve to allow excess moisture to immediately drain into the dish or sink as it thaws. When the scallops are completely thawed, you can start frying.
  2. Heat a frying pan, pour in vegetable oil. Olive oil will very gently highlight the flavor of the scallops. You can use any other vegetable oil. Place our main ingredient in a heated frying pan. Scallops have a fairly moist texture, so they can splatter quite a bit when frying. Take this nuance into account so as not to get burned. Do not add all the scallops to the pan at once. They will instantly release a lot of moisture and drown. We will fry in small batches until a beautiful golden color on both sides. Place the fried pieces on a large plate. In this way we fry all the sea catch.
  3. Next, add a piece of butter to the same frying pan. You will need about 50 grams of butter. Peel the garlic and chop finely. Fry the garlic until light golden brown to release a characteristic aroma.
  4. Pour in 100 milliliters of dry white wine. The sauce becomes more liquid. Bring to a boil and add 200 milliliters of cream. You can use cream of any fat content; it is preferable to use fattier ones. Mix all the sauce ingredients well.
  5. It's time to add flavor accents to the creamy sauce. Add salt and black pepper to taste. Take a lemon and squeeze out the juice. About 1.5-2 tablespoons of juice are needed, the portion can be increased according to your desire. Add a few thin slices of lemon, which we will later use as decoration. Taste the sauce. If necessary, add more salt and pepper. If you want the sauce to have sweet notes, you can add a teaspoon of sugar. The final chord is thyme sprigs and fresh herbs. The sauce is ready.

  2. To prepare the batter, beat the eggs and add the flour sifted with starch. Stir until smooth and let stand for 15–20 minutes. The batter turns out quite thick, don’t be alarmed!
  3. Heat oil in a saucepan or deep fryer. Remove scallops from marinade and pat dry lightly with paper towels. Dip the scallops into the batter and carefully lower them into the fryer one at a time.
  4. Fry the scallops until the batter is golden; they cook very quickly on their own. Place cooked scallops on paper towels to drain excess oil.

For the dish you need to take:

  • scallops - half a kilo;
  • olive oil – 30-35 ml;
  • garlic – 1-2 cloves;
  • fresh parsley – 130-150 g;
  • lemon juice – 70-80 ml.

Step-by-step cooking process

The cooking process includes several stages:

  1. Fresh scallops should be washed and dried on paper towels.

Shake the pan and stir for another 1 minute. Remove the contents from the pan with a slotted spoon and mix with the onions marinated in the sauce. Let the mixture sit for 10 minutes. Serve with herbs and authentic Asian alcohol. Rice or funchoza (rice noodles) are most suitable as a side dish. You can include sweet peppers in the dish.
