Many people are familiar with this type of test. As a rule, such pies are prepared quite quickly, without much hassle, and they turn out tasty and tender. The filling can be very varied, to suit every taste!

Puff pastry pie with canned tuna

Ingredients

Puff pastry500 g
boiled rice1 stack
Boiled egg3 pcs
Egg yolk1 PC
Canned tuna1 ban.
Green onion0.5 bunch.
Butter1.5 tbsp. l.
Salt peppertaste

Cooking method

1. Let's start preparing the filling. We chop the feather onion into centimeter pieces. Lightly add some salt to the pre-boiled semi-cooked rice, add a pinch of ground pepper and fry in butter. 2. Peel the eggs and chop them into small cubes or chop them on a coarse grater. 3. Take the tuna out of the brine, remove the bones and knead it so that small pieces remain. 4. If you don’t want to bother with layer-by-layer styling, then you can simply mix all these ingredients into a single mass. 5. Roll out the melted unleavened puff pastry into a rectangle shape. And immediately transfer it to parchment. Place the filling on top in the following sequence: rice, chopped green onions, eggs, canned tuna meat. We cut the free edges of the dough with identical oblique lines. We wrap it around the edges first, and then overlap the filling with the cut pieces of dough. To make the baked goods more golden brown, shake the yolk and brush the entire cake with it. 6. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees and simmer our delicious and quick masterpiece for 30-35 minutes.

Products (for 4 servings)
For the test:
Sour cream (fat content 10-20%) - 100 g
Eggs (category C1) - 2 pcs.
Vegetable oil - 1.5 tbsp. spoons
Flour - 130 g (1 glass of 200 ml)
Sugar - 1 teaspoon
Baking powder - 1 teaspoon (without a slide)
Salt - 1 pinch
*
For filling:
Canned tuna in its own juice - 1 can (net weight - 160 g)
Eggs - 3 pcs.
Green onions - 1 large bunch
Salt (optional) - to taste

Prepare all the necessary ingredients. It is better to take canned tuna in its own juice, and not in oil, so the filling will not be greasy. Open the can of tuna and drain the liquid. For the filling, first boil the eggs hard (pour in cold water and cook for 10 minutes after boiling). Transfer the boiled eggs to cold water and cool completely.

Prepare the filling: peel the boiled eggs, cut into cubes and place in a bowl.

Wash the green onions, dry and chop with a knife. Add to bowl.

Mash the canned tuna with a fork. Add it to the bowl with the onions and eggs. Mix. If desired, the filling can be slightly salted.

Prepare the dough. Since this is a fairly quick process, you should first turn on the oven to preheat to 180°C and prepare a mold measuring 20x20 cm. So, for the dough, break two eggs into a bowl, add sugar and a pinch of salt. Mix with a whisk. Add sour cream and vegetable oil. Mix again.

Add flour with baking powder.

Mix until a homogeneous dough is obtained. It should be as thick as pancakes (moderately thick and flow like a wide ribbon from the whisk).

Pour half of the dough into the prepared pan and smooth over the entire surface.

Place the filling on top and compact it lightly.

Pour in the remaining dough. Flatten.

Bake the jellied pie with tuna, eggs and green onions in the oven for about 25 minutes (you can check readiness with a wooden skewer).

Allow the fish pie to cool slightly and serve. Bon appetit!

A little about tuna

Tuna belongs to the mackerel family, and its meat is very different from the same mackerel. Its color varies from scarlet to burgundy. It’s easier to say that tuna meat is “red”.

Why this color? A large amount of hemoglobin in the blood and a well-developed circulatory system in the muscles.

When cooked, tuna meat becomes lighter in color and becomes similar in color to boiled chicken. It is quite juicy and layered. Overall, delicious!

For pies, use fresh (frozen) or canned tuna meat.

This collection contains all recipes based on canned tuna. There are also advantages here: speed and ease of preparation. And it’s easier (and cheaper) to buy canned food than to find good fresh tuna meat.

But, if you wish, you can easily prepare the pies below from fresh tuna. The essence of the recipes does not change! You just have to prepare the fish in advance: cut it, cut it, lightly boil it, although you can also add raw pieces to the pies, since tuna cooks very quickly!

I’ll also clarify about canned food. I advise you to buy tuna canned in its own juice. It should say something like “natural” or “pieces”.

If you see “chopped” or “for salad”, then most likely in the jar you will find many small pieces of unknown fish covered in oil. And there is a huge risk that instead of tuna they will give you some other (cheaper) fish.
