Today I want to share with you one of the simplest recipes for cooking chicken in the oven. It’s no secret that baked chicken or its parts, and in my case chicken thighs, is a very tasty and economical dish. By preparing it we save energy, time and money. You don’t have to struggle trying to come up with a lunch or dinner that will satisfy the tastes of all family members. Baked chicken is such a universal dish that everyone will like it, and it goes well with absolutely any side dish.

But to make the chicken interesting, beautiful, juicy and rosy, I resort to some culinary tricks. For example, baking chicken thighs with onion rings gives the dish an incredibly appetizing aroma. This won't happen without a bow. And before baking, it is better to keep chicken thighs in a special marinade, which will saturate the already tender chicken meat and add juiciness and taste to it. Thanks to this marinade, chicken thighs acquire a thin crispy crust and an amber color. Believe me, it looks very appetizing, but the taste is just bomb :)

The marinade for chicken thighs, which was discussed in the previous paragraph, consists of literally 4 components, not counting onions. The two main ones are soy sauce and mayonnaise. It is thanks to soy sauce that chicken acquires a rich color and a very interesting taste. Mayonnaise allows the meat to retain its juiciness and softness and not dry out in the oven. And don’t let the simplicity of this marinade sauce fool you. In order to prepare delicious food, you do not have to resort to complex and expensive solutions. Often simple, time-tested things are enough.

Chicken thighs with potatoes and mayonnaise - recipe in the oven with a crispy crust

If you want to cook a complete dish right away, meat with a side dish, then I offer you this recipe. Preparing the ingredients is not difficult. As a result, your table will have a delicious, satisfying and nutritious dish - baked chicken with potatoes!

Ingredients:

  • 5 chicken thighs
  • 200 g mayonnaise
  • Teaspoon curry seasoning
  • A kilogram of potatoes (or a little more)
  • Tablespoon chicken seasoning
  • A couple of onions
  • Salt and ground pepper to taste
  • Medium sized head of garlic

Preparation:

Peel the onion and chop finely. Place in a deep bowl. Peel the potatoes and cut them into large pieces

There is no need to chop too finely. Otherwise, it will turn into mush during the baking process. Place in a bowl with onions.

3. Press the garlic into the mayonnaise. Add a special seasoning to the chicken and curry. Salt a little and add ground pepper. Stir until smooth.

Place half of the prepared sauce in a bowl with chicken legs. Mix everything thoroughly, rubbing the sauce into the meat.

Salt the onions and potatoes to taste, add the remaining sauce. Stir everything. Place the potatoes in a baking dish and even out the layer. There is no need to lubricate the bottom with oil.

Place the thighs on top, skin side up. Heat the oven to 190 degrees and put our future dinner (or lunch) there. Baking time is approximately an hour.

The dish is ready! It is important to place the meat on the potatoes. Then its juice will drain and soak the potatoes. This dish will be doubly juicy. And the meat, moreover, will be golden brown.

Option in foil

To preserve the juiciness of the dish, you can cook it in foil. .

For this recipe with tomatoes and garlic you will need the following ingredients:

  • 0.6 kg thighs;
  • 150 grams of onion;
  • 100 grams of cheese;
  • 200 grams of tomatoes;
  • 50 ml mayonnaise;
  • 10 g garlic;
  • 5 grams of rosemary, salt and Italian herbs.

Here are the preparation steps:

  1. Cut the onion into thin half rings and the tomatoes into rings.
  2. Make the sauce from mayonnaise, garlic and aromatic herbs.
  3. Rub the thighs with salt and sauce.
  4. Place foil on a baking sheet, then onions and thighs.
  5. Then a layer of tomato rings.
  6. Wrap the dish in foil and seal at all ends. In this case, the meat will cook in its own juices.
  7. Remove the top foil and sprinkle shredded cheese on top.
  8. In 10 minutes the product will be ready.

How to deliciously bake chicken thighs in the oven with mayonnaise

According to this recipe, you can cook not only thighs, but also other parts of it. If you bought whole legs rather than thighs separately, it is better to bake them together. After all, the drumstick is also very juicy

Ingredients:

  • 2 kilograms of chicken legs
  • 2-3 cloves of garlic
  • Tablespoon salt
  • Ground pepper to taste
  • A couple of tablespoons of dried ground paprika
  • 3 tablespoons mayonnaise

Preparation:

If you are using frozen drumsticks, they must be thawed and washed before cooking. Then they must be dried. Let's cut them into thigh and drumstick. Place in a bowl. Salt, add paprika and ground pepper. You can adjust the composition of seasonings to suit your taste. Add those that you think are necessary.

Press the garlic or use a grater, whichever is more convenient for you. We send it to the general mass. All that remains is to add mayonnaise.

Now knead everything with your hands, sparing no time. It is necessary that each piece is fully covered with marinade. It should be an even pink color (if you followed the composition from the list). Leave them like this for 15 minutes

Place on a dry baking sheet. But we will also spread what is left in the bowl into pieces. Heat the oven to 200 degrees. We will bake for approximately 40-60 minutes. It will be more accurate in practice. When the legs are browned, then they will be ready.

While they are baking, you can prepare the side dish. The meat turns out juicy, soaked and flavorful. I recommend!

Chicken marinade

It's no secret that the taste of a dish largely depends on the marinade. Keep some ideas for delicious chicken marinade. This marinade will come in handy if you decide to fry the thighs in a frying pan ; for recipes, go to another page.

  1. Paprika, turmeric, marjoram.
  2. Ginger root, garlic, honey, soy sauce.
  3. Lemon zest, basil, thyme, rosemary.
  4. Mustard, honey, any kind of pepper, garlic.

The honey marinade makes the chicken special. To add contrast, we will add mustard to this marinade.

Ingredients:

  • Chicken thighs - fresh or completely thawed - 1.5 kg or more
  • Ground pepper to taste
  • Honey - tablespoon
  • Soy sauce - about 3 tablespoons
  • Table mustard - teaspoon

Preparation:

Wash and dry the meat. Place in a bowl with high sides. Place liquid honey in a small bowl. If it is dense, warm it up a little. Pour soy sauce here and add mustard. Let's pepper it to taste. We won't add salt - soy sauce is quite salty. Stir everything until smooth

Pour the resulting mixture into the meat and mix thoroughly with your hands. When each piece is in the marinade, leave it for about half an hour (or better yet an hour) to marinate

Place the thighs on a wide baking sheet. Pour marinade on top of each piece. Heat the oven to 200 degrees. Bake until done. Approximate time – 40-60 minutes, depending on the size of the pieces

The juicy and rosy thighs are ready. They are very simple to prepare, but they turn out extremely tasty.

Cooking features

  • Chilled chicken thighs are juicier than frozen ones, but the latter can still be cooked deliciously. It is only important to defrost them correctly, without exposing them to sudden temperature changes. Trying to speed up the process of thawing chicken legs using a microwave will lead to a deterioration in their organoleptic qualities.
  • Real soy sauce is prepared using complex technology and cannot be cheap. A product in a large plastic bottle that costs a penny will almost certainly turn out to be a fake. Chicken marinated in it will not become soft and juicy.
  • When preparing a marinade for chicken from soy sauce, you can include butter, sour cream or mayonnaise so that the pieces of poultry are nicely browned when baked. When you want chicken thighs to look like they are covered with glaze, honey is included in the marinade. For piquancy, you can also add hot pepper and mustard to the marinade.
  • You can marinate chicken legs before baking in an enamel bowl, glass form, or plastic container. Aluminum cookware is not suitable for this purpose. This material reacts with the acids that make up the marinade, resulting in the formation of harmful substances. Also because of this, poultry meat may acquire an unusual metallic taste.
  • There is no need to heavily salt meat that is marinated and baked in soy sauce, since this seasoning itself is quite salty.

The most delicious recipe for chicken thighs with potatoes in sour cream

Tender meat and the same potatoes. The dish is simply excellent. Everyone will like it. The whole family can eat it. After all, it is very useful.

Ingredients:

  • 4-5 chicken thighs
  • Kilogram of potatoes
  • Turmeric
  • 250 grams of sour cream
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 5 cloves of garlic
  • Ground coriander to taste

Preparation:

We use thighs either fresh or completely thawed. Let's wash them and be sure to wipe them free of moisture.

Stir all the prepared spices into the sour cream. You can use those on the list or choose your own bouquet. In this case, turmeric will serve as an enhancer of a beautiful ruddy color. Squeeze the garlic here through a press. You can also grind it with a grater. Mix everything thoroughly

3. Peel the potatoes and cut them into medium-sized bars. Place on a frying pan or baking sheet. If you are afraid that it will burn at the bottom, you can grease it with oil. But if the container is of high quality, this will not happen.

We “bathe” each thigh in the prepared sour cream sauce. Then place them on top of the potatoes, skin side up. Pour the rest of the sauce on top

Bake the dish at medium power for 30-50 minutes. The exact time depends on the size of the thighs and the capabilities of your oven. When the top turns brown and looks appetizing, it’s ready!

The smell is simply incredible! So immediately take the dish out of the oven and serve. Everything is ready here - both the side dish and the meat!

Thighs cooked in the sleeve

For many housewives, thighs baked in a sleeve are a quick way to feed their family nourishingly and tasty.

Ingredients:

  • 8-10 chicken thighs;
  • 4-5 cloves of garlic;
  • salt and spices to taste;
  • mayonnaise (sour cream).

Preparation:

  1. Place the thighs prepared for baking in a bowl, sprinkle with salt and other spices as desired. We also add pressed slices of the spicy vegetable to them, mix everything thoroughly and leave for 40 minutes.
  2. You can add mayonnaise or sour cream to chicken thighs, so the meat will be more tender and juicy.
  3. We transfer the marinated thighs of the bird into a culinary sleeve, be sure to pierce the bag in several places so that the meat does not turn out boiled and pale in appearance.
  4. Bake the dish for 40 minutes (temperature 200°C), sprinkle the finished chicken thighs with herbs and serve with any side dish.

Frying pan recipe

You can make the dish without an oven.

Here are the components you will need:

  • kg thighs or you can use fillet;
  • 3-4 cloves of garlic;
  • salt and black pepper;
  • 50 g vegetable oil.

Preparation:

  1. Cut the chicken into pieces, salt and pepper.
  2. Leave for 10 minutes to marinate.
  3. Heat the frying pan well and add oil.
  4. Grill chicken over moderate heat for 15 minutes.
  5. Place the chopped garlic on the chicken, then cover it with a lid and fry it for about 5 minutes.
  6. Turn the pieces over and fry for another 5 minutes, covered.

Fried chicken is served hot and served as a side dish with vegetables, potatoes or rice with vegetables.

Recipe with cheese

Meat and cheese are suitable for a festive table. In this case, the thighs will be stuffed with cheese.

The cheese slices must be placed between the flesh and skin of the chicken. Chicken fillet is suitable for a side dish. So here's what you'll need:

  • 7-8 pieces of hips;
  • 200 grams of cheese;
  • 3 tbsp. mayonnaise;
  • 2-3 cloves of garlic;
  • parsley, pepper and salt.

Main stages of preparation:

  1. Season the thighs with salt and pepper.
  2. Make a mixture of mayonnaise, herbs and garlic.
  3. Cut the cheese into pieces 3 mm thick.
  4. Use a knife to peel off the skin and add the cheese pieces.
  5. Coat an ovenproof dish with oil and place the meat, then cover it with foil.
  6. Place the thighs in the oven for an hour.
