Since ancient times, cereals have firmly entered into the basic diet of people: rice, buckwheat, and wheat dishes can be found on any table. There are cereals that are less common, but are in no way inferior in health and taste. One of these grains is bulgur.
Bulgur is durum wheat that has been heat-treated with water and dried at a certain temperature. Dried bulgur is peeled, polished and then crushed. You can find three types of crushed bulgur on sale: large (used in dishes instead of rice), medium (soups, salads, snacks are prepared with it), small (for baking). In our country, this cereal is only gaining popularity, while it has been used in the cooking of Eastern countries for a very long time.
Bulgur contains almost all the nutrients and vitamins necessary for life. Of course, one product cannot provide balanced nutrition. Do not forget that this wonderful cereal contains gluten and is contraindicated for people with individual intolerance to it.
If you want to boil bulgur, you do not need to rinse it before cooking, but you need to fry it in butter. After this you can boil it. Cooking time is approximately half an hour. It is recommended to boil covered over low heat.
Bulgur goes well with meat, seafood, and vegetables. We bring to your attention basic recipes from bulgur in combination with various ingredients.
