Greece is famous for its cuisine, and not least in it is occupied by a wide variety of pastries, for example, “Snail” pie, which is prepared with a variety of fillings: meat, young cheese and herbs.

How to cook “Greek snail”

Prepare foods according to recipe.

Add chopped onion to the minced meat and mix.

Finely chop the parsley and add to the minced meat. Salt and pepper to taste.

Prepare a baking dish in advance, such as a frying pan with a removable handle. Line the pan with baking paper and grease with vegetable oil if necessary.

Dust the work surface with flour and divide the dough into strips.

Roll out a strip of dough with a rolling pin 8-10 centimeters wide.

Place minced meat along the entire length of the dough strip.

Pinch the edges of the dough more tightly; if necessary, brush the edges of the dough with egg, which will later be used to grease the pie.

Place the prepared strip of dough with minced meat in the mold, rolling it into a “snail”.

Add more strips of dough as they are ready.

Place the cake completely, all seams should be at the bottom.

Scramble the egg to brush the pie.

Brush the surface of the pie with egg.

Sprinkle sesame seeds on top.

Bake in a preheated oven at 180-200 degrees for about 30 minutes.

Due to the fact that the bottom of the pan was covered with baking paper, removing it is no problem.

Cut the pie and enjoy its extraordinary aroma and taste!

Khachapuri with cheese from Pyaterochka

It contains the already familiar emulsifiers E471 and 475, and the unfamiliar, but not dangerous E322 (lecithin). For the filling I use feta cheese, hard cheese and cottage cheese. Judging by the composition, there is no milk fat substitute, which is good news.

Khachapuri looks very impressive, there is filling. I really liked the bun. The dough is crispy, the filling is moderately juicy and salty, and the price is quite reasonable.

What time do they prepare pastries and bread at Pyaterochka?

It is worth clarifying that fresh baked goods are not made in Pyaterochka itself. More precisely, they prepare it in the store, but the employees do not make the buns and bread themselves. Ready-made semi-finished products are delivered there frozen. Store employees defrost and cook in ovens.

Buns and bread begin to be baked “as needed.” That is, there is no specific time when you can come and pick up hot pastries from Pyaterochka. As soon as something from the assortment runs out, employees put a new batch into the oven. Often, hot buns are available in the morning, shortly after the store opens. But you can also run into yesterday’s baked goods. But in the evening, the bread is hot.

Light and tasty “Snails” made from puff pastry

Ingredients

Puff pastry1 kg
Sugar150 g
Butter or margarine75 g
Cinnamon1 tbsp. l.

Step-by-step preparation

  1. Unroll the finished puff pastry.
  2. Spread 75 grams of butter evenly over the entire sheet of dough. It is better to melt it a little in advance.

  3. Take about 150 grams of sugar and also scatter everything over the sheet of dough. There is no need to save sugar - the more, the tastier. It will turn into caramel during cooking. Make sure the sugar is spilled around the edges.

  4. We need about 1 tablespoon of cinnamon. Sprinkle the dough well, not forgetting the edges.

  5. Gently roll the dough into a sausage with your fingers. If the edges stick out, just straighten them with your palm.

  6. Cut the sausage into pieces of 2-3 centimeters.

  7. Cover the baking sheet with parchment and lay out all the “snails”.

  8. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees and place a baking sheet with snails in it to bake for 25 minutes.

  9. Remove the baking sheet from the oven, let the “snails” cool slightly and are ready to serve. Bon appetit!

Samsa with meat

The price tag with the ingredients is impossible to really read. There are several stains either from fingers or something else. But from what I could make out, I didn’t see the word: “beef.” But there is definitely beef fat and minced chicken, which is dry for some reason. and the bracket is closed. Maybe it's a smile?

In my understanding, samsa should contain pieces of meat, here is minced meat. You can buy such pastries at Pyaterochka for 22.99 rubles. There is a lot of filling, the taste is about the same as the street version. Well, maybe a little too salty. In my opinion, the inside of the dough was not baked and was damp. Not good.

Greek braid with chicken, rice and vegetables

Our catalog of baked goods in Pyaterochka begins with the Greek Pigtail. It is made from puff pastry. Ingredients: flour, water and sunflower oil. Usually, in such baked goods, there is rapeseed or palm. In addition to chicken meat, the filling includes rice, onions, cabbage, and carrots. A fresh bun is crispy but not dry. The layers of dough are baked, but not all have opened. You can taste the chicken with carrots. The only negative is that there is not much poultry meat here.

Turnover with potatoes and mushrooms

Weight 70 grams

Nutritional value and calorie content

  • Fats – 20 g.
  • Proteins – 5 g.
  • Carbohydrates – 32 g.
  • Energy value – 327 kcal

Of all the baked goods I bought at Pyaterochka, I liked the turnover the least. The composition is quite simple. Dough flour and margarine. The filling is potato flakes, the same margarine and ground mushrooms. There are a number of food additives, but they are not dangerous. Well, as you would expect, such baked goods taste like fourteen rubles. The dough is almost tasteless, and so is the filling. The presence of a flavor enhancer did not save her either. But there is a slight aroma of mushrooms.
