Preparing the gravy recipe for meatless rice will take you about one hour. According to the volume of ingredients, you should get 400 ml:

  • Wash the carrots and then grate them on a coarse grater.
  • Also wash the onion, peel and cut into small cubes.
  • If you use tomatoes, you also need to wash them, then keep them in boiling water for five minutes, then put them in cold water, peel them and cut them in the same way as onions.

  • Washed zucchini needs to be peeled and grated on a fine grater. It is not necessary to peel young fruits.
  • The specified number of garlic cloves must be cut into thin slices.
  • Next, pour vegetable oil into a not yet heated frying pan, and then begin to heat it over high heat for three minutes.
  • After a little smoke appears, you can put previously prepared vegetables there. Leave only the tomatoes.
  • Cook the ingredients until tender, about 7 to 10 minutes.
  • Now you can add flour to the pan and mix all the ingredients thoroughly.
  • After this, add water (you can also use broth) and mix again.
  • The next step in preparing meatless vegetable gravy for rice is to bring the mixture to a boil. Once the boiling point has been reached, you can add the tomatoes to the pan and stir everything again. Next, you need to cover everything with a lid and simmer for 10 minutes until fully cooked. Before turning off the heat, taste the mixture.

After this, the gravy for rice without meat can be served immediately.

Gravy without meat with milk

Milk gravy is made mainly in a sweet version.

It can be used both for rice porridge and for porridges from other cereals.

What ingredients will you need?

Sweet Gravy Recipe Includes:

  • whole milk with a fat content of 2.5% - 1 l;
  • high quality butter – 100 g;
  • wheat flour – 60 g;
  • granulated sugar (it is undesirable to use brown) – 200 g.

Additionally, you can add 0.5 g of vanilla sugar to the gravy.

Step-by-step cooking process

The design scheme for sweet gravy includes the following steps:

  1. First, soften the butter. To do this, the product must lie in a warm place for approximately 2-3 hours.
  2. Next, you need to grind the butter with granulated sugar.
  3. Heat a high-walled frying pan and fry the flour in it until it turns beige. Approximately 3-5 minutes are required.
  4. Next, you need to pour milk into the pan and simultaneously mix the ingredients to prevent the formation of lumps.
  5. When the milk-flour mixture boils, add sweet butter to it and continue the cooking process for about 5 minutes.

Pour vanilla sugar into the prepared sauce and let the sauce “stand” covered for about 10 minutes. Additionally, you can add 0.5 g of vanilla sugar to the gravy.

Multicooker recipe

This is almost the same recipe for gravy for rice without meat, but cooked in a slow cooker. Ingredients:

  • two heads of onions;
  • two young zucchini;
  • three standard tomatoes or 20 cherry tomatoes;
  • three bell peppers;
  • one carrot;
  • three cloves of garlic;
  • 125 ml tomato juice;
  • one celery root;
  • 3 sprigs of basil;
  • 40 ml sunflower oil;
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce.

A few words in addition

In order to diversify a rather simple recipe, we recommend using chopped tomatoes in their own juice instead of tomato paste. This will make the gravy more textured and more natural in taste. It is worth considering that the tomatoes will almost certainly be sour, which means you will have to balance the taste with sugar. Be guided by your own taste in this matter. You can also use fresh tomatoes. They should be finely chopped or grated, after peeling them. If you like carrots, you can add grated carrots to the gravy. You can also add canned corn to the gravy. In this case, it is definitely better not to use sour cream. But, of course, this is a matter of taste.
