This dish is a kind of hybrid of potato pancakes and nuggets. It turns out very satisfying and tasty. I highly recommend trying it, you won’t regret it!
Chicken fillet baked with grated potatoes and cheese
There was a time when in our family chicken breast was used only for making minced meat (together with pork and beef). She seemed too dry to us in a different capacity. But in the light of recent culinary research, we finally realized that you simply need to be able to cook it competently. With a more in-depth study of the topic, we were able to find a lot of interesting ways to prepare chicken fillet, in which it turns out juicy and incredibly tender.
One of these finds is chicken baked with grated potatoes. This recipe won us over because a side dish is not at all necessary, since the dish itself already contains both meat and potatoes. Maybe a little greens or vegetable salad wouldn't hurt. We slightly adjusted the found original recipe for the dish and prepared it in our own way.
How to cook, step by step photos:
Cut the well-washed breast into slices about a centimeter thick and lightly beat with a kitchen hammer. Before beating, do not forget to cover the meat with cling film or a plastic bag, otherwise after this procedure you will have to collect small pieces of meat on the table, walls and floor.
Season the chopped chicken fillet on both sides with spices and place on a baking sheet lined with greased foil.
Beat eggs in a bowl, add salt and pepper, sour cream and finely chopped onion. Mix thoroughly.
Grind the peeled raw potatoes on a coarse grater, lightly squeeze and mix with the egg mixture.
Spread the potato mixture onto the chicken meat in an even layer and sprinkle with grated cheese.
Bake in the oven at a temperature (electric oven) of 220 °C until golden brown - this is about 30 minutes.
And you can immediately start eating without letting the dish cool down. Bon appetit!
And further:
• if the beaten chicken fillet is kept for at least an hour in a marinade (for example, from mayonnaise and mustard or ketchup), it will turn out juicier and softer; • the dish will be even tastier and more appetizing if you first put a slice of tomato on top of the chicken layer, beaten and sprinkled with spices, and only then the potato mixture and cheese.

How to cook “Chicken under a potato coat” step by step with photos at home
To cook chicken under a potato coat, we will need the following products: chicken fillet, potatoes, onions, cream, cheese, vegetable oil, spices.
Cut the chicken fillet into small pieces.
Grease the mold with vegetable oil and place pieces of chicken fillet. Salt, sprinkle with khmeli-suneli and pepper.
Cut the onion into half rings and place it on top of the chicken.
Peel the potatoes and cut into very thin slices. I cut it with a knife, you can do it with a special grater.
Arrange the potatoes in a single layer on top of the chicken and onions.
Prepare the filling. To do this, mix cream, cheese, spices, garlic, salt.
Pour the filling over the first layer of potatoes and add a second layer.
Pour the filling over the potatoes again. Lay out the potatoes until they are finished, pouring the filling over each layer. Sprinkle the top of the casserole with cheese. If possible, it would be good to mix two types of cheese. I added parmesan. Place the casserole in a barely warm oven if the pan is glass. If the mold is metal, then preheat the oven to 190-200°C. Bake until golden brown, about 35 minutes. Add time to preheat the glass pan. Check readiness with a knife by piercing it in the middle.
Take out the finished casserole and let it stand for 15 minutes so that the cream is absorbed into the ingredients. Potatoes with chicken in cream are ready, serve warm. Bon appetit!
