So, in order to cook delicious rainbow trout, I needed the following ingredients:
— onions (4 pcs.)
- ground black pepper
- ground red pepper
— rainbow trout (700 gr.)
If you wish, you can use fresh herbs in this recipe to give the fish a special color; unfortunately, I didn’t have any at home, so I cooked the fish without them.
At the initial stage, it is necessary to prepare all the necessary ingredients by washing them thoroughly under running water.
I peel the onions.
I cut it into small pieces.
If you cook young potatoes without peeling them, they turn out much tastier, the main thing is to wash them thoroughly.
I cut the fish into pieces 1.5 cm thick.
Next, salt it to taste.
I also salt the potatoes.
And sprinkle with seasonings (ground black and red pepper, also dried herbs).
I put the fish in the air fryer.
I add potatoes and sprinkle with onions.
I cook trout in an air fryer for 1 hour 20 minutes at 180 degrees.

- Trout, weighing approximately 1.5 - 2 kg,
- 1 onion,
- 1 carrot,
- 6-7 medium potatoes,
- Greens for decoration (dill, parsley, green onions),
- Seasoning for fish – 1 tsp,
- Vegetable seasoning – 1 tsp,
- Salt – 1 tsp,
- Ground black pepper – 1 tsp,
- Half a lemon
- A little vegetable oil.
How to cook
First we prepare the fish. We clean it, gut it, cut off the head, tail, and fins. Be sure to clean the belly well. Then we cut it into portioned pieces from the back, but without cutting through the meat on the belly.
Sprinkle the top of the trout with fish spices, salt and pepper. Rub them into the skin and the inside of the abdomen. Cover with cling film and leave to marinate for 20-30 minutes.
In the meantime, let's take care of the vegetables. Cut the onion into thin half rings, carrots into rings, and potatoes into slices. Transfer to a deep bowl, add spices for potatoes, salt, pepper, add 2 tbsp. l. vegetable oil. Mix all the vegetables well.

Place lemon slices on top of the fish, the remaining chopped garlic, lightly salt and pepper. Pour olive oil on top from a bottle.
Wrap the trout in foil tightly on all sides and place in the oven preheated to 190ºC for 30 minutes. After half an hour, take the baking sheet out of the oven, the fish should be cooked.
While the food is baking, prepare the sauce. To do this, melt 100 g of butter in a saucepan on the stove. While the butter is melting, finely chop the garlic and herbs. Add garlic and herbs to the melted butter and stir. The sauce is ready.
