Using this recipe, you can easily and quickly prepare a bright, juicy and very tasty salad for any holiday.
You will need:
240 g crab sticks, 3 tomatoes, 1 red bell pepper, 1 red onion, 100 g cheese, 1 tsp.
vinegar, 100 ml water, 20 g sugar, salt and mayonnaise. Preparation:
1. Marinate onion cut into half rings in water with vinegar, salt and sugar. Cut the crab sticks and peppers into long strips, cut the tomatoes into quarters, remove the core with seeds, cut the dense pulp into thin strips.
2. Place a pastry ring with a diameter of 20 cm on a plate, assemble the salad layer by layer, spreading it with mayonnaise: crab sticks, pickled and squeezed onions, chopped tomatoes, grated cheese, sweet peppers.

You can cook completely different dishes with herring. The most popular salad with herring is, of course, the good old “herring under a fur coat.” But today I will introduce you to a recipe for another salad, which is simplified to the minimum, but its taste is simply amazing.
The herring salad recipe includes the following components:
- Lightly salted herring – 1 pc.
- Boiled eggs – 2 pcs.
- White onion – 1 pc.
- Green onions – bunch
- Mayonnaise – for dressing
- Vinegar – 2 tbsp.
- Sugar – 1 tsp.
- Hot water – 100 ml.
How to prepare salad with herring:
First pickle the onions. To do this, peel it, thinly cut it into half rings and place it in a deep plate. Pour vinegar, hot water and add sugar. Mix everything well and leave for 15-20 minutes.
Now get to the herring. Remove the film from it, cut off the head and tail, remove all the entrails and separate the meat from the backbone. Wash the herring fillets under running water.
Cut the prepared herring into cubes or strips.
Half the job is done, now chop the green onions after washing them.
Peel and cut the boiled eggs.
Place all ingredients in a salad bowl. At the same time, take the pickled onion with your hands and squeeze it so that all the liquid drains out.

There is no second freshness with seafood, so the ingredients for the salad must be exceptionally fresh. Otherwise, you will cause food poisoning to yourself, your household and guests.
When choosing the main components of a dish, pay special attention to the following points
- Shrimps. The tail is only “curled”. The pristine pink color of the shell is an indicator of freshness, health and proper storage. Carcasses with black heads were sick during life and should not be eaten, but eat specimens with green and brown heads for your health. The packaging must be sealed, free of air bubbles, moisture and ice.
- Red caviar. The best caviar is the one that is prepared directly at the place where the fish was caught: Kamchatka, Sakhalin. Look for this information on the label. - Crab sticks. The composition should not contain soy protein; “correct” sticks are made from surimi (minced fish). The color on top is from pink to rich red, and on the inside it is white (gray indicates a large amount of flour in the composition or low quality fish raw materials). A good crab stick easily turns into a crab “rag,” that is, it unfolds without breaking.
- Red fish. The color should be soft pink, too dark - the fish is old, too bright - painted. The veins are always white and clearly defined; in old fish they are yellow, in painted fish they have blurred boundaries. The pulp should “spring”, that is, the dent from pressing will quickly straighten out. Choose a lightly salted option. The presence of air and liquid inside the package is unacceptable; if there is any, the fish was stored incorrectly.
The main criterion is the smell. It should not raise any doubts about its freshness at all, that is, it should smell like the sea and only the sea. If you buy a frozen product, please note that the ice crust should not exceed 5% of the weight of fish and 6-8% of the weight of seafood.
