How to cook spicy meatballs in tomato sauce? Try making them using my recipe. In addition to using tomato juice, tomato paste is added to the broth, which gives thickness.

From minced fish

They are prepared from the following products:

  • fillet of any fish (hake, catfish) – 350 g;
  • bitter onions – 2 pcs.;
  • butter – 35 g;
  • flour – 60 g;
  • salt, spices;
  • carrot;
  • parsley root;
  • dry white wine – ¼ cup;
  • laurel;
  • tomato paste – 25 g.

Carrots and parsley root should be chopped and fried in vegetable oil. Pour in the pasta diluted in water, wine, season with black pepper, bay leaves and simmer for 2-4 minutes.

Remove skin and small bones from the fish fillet and grind together with the onion through a meat grinder. The minced meat should be peppered, salted, added the required amount of oil, kneaded and begin forming meatballs. Fry the balls, roll them in flour, in vegetable oil, then pour in the sauce and simmer for 5-7 minutes. Serve by adding parsley and dill.

How to cook “Spicy meatballs in tomato sauce”

Place minced meat in a bowl. I have mixed minced meat, where 50% is pork and the other 50% is beef.

Add chopped onions, salt, ground black and red peppers, dry green adjika and other spices and seasonings of your choice to the meat. The more spices, the more flavorful the meatballs will be. Adjika adds sharpness and piquancy to the dish.

Mix the minced meat. You can add a little water (up to 1 glass). Form meatballs from the resulting minced meat. Roll them in flour.

Peel the onions and cut into half rings.

Fry the onion in vegetable oil. When it becomes soft and barely brown, add tomato juice and tomato paste. Stir and let it boil. Add spices, salt, sugar. You can add water, but so much so that the liquid level completely covers our meatballs.

Fry the meatballs in a frying pan in oil on all sides. They may be damp, but should not fall apart.

Place the meatballs in a saucepan. Pour in the sauce. Flour in the meatballs, tomato paste and oil will add thickness to the sauce. The meatballs will turn out great. Place on the fire and simmer over low heat for 20-30 minutes.

Serve the meatballs with any side dish.

  • Ground beef - 480 grams
  • Minced pork – 480 grams
  • Milk - 2/3 Cup
  • Bread – 3 Slices
  • Ricotta – 35 Grams
  • Parmesan – 35 grams
  • Eggs – 2 pieces
  • Salt, pepper - To taste
  • Parsley - 0.5 bunch
  • Oregano – 1 teaspoon
  • Garlic – 4 cloves
  • Flour - 1 Cup
  • Olive oil - 1/3 Cup
  • Onion – 1 piece
  • Carrots – 1 piece
  • Tomatoes – 700 grams
  • Dried basil - 2 tbsp. spoons
  • Tomato paste - 1 tbsp. spoon

Useful tips

  1. To grind minced meat into meat balls, you need to install a grid with large holes;
  2. It is best to use freshly picked tomatoes for tomato sauce, but if you don’t have them, take canned dried ones or ready-made paste;
  3. When preparing tomato sauce yourself from fresh tomatoes, be sure to add sugar to the puree, this will make the sauce tastier;
  4. To make the gravy thicker, you need to put a few tablespoons of flour in it;
  5. After cooking the dish, leave it covered for twenty minutes so that the meat is well saturated with the sauce and the taste is richer;
  6. To obtain a dietary dish, use turkey meat or young steamed veal. Skip white bread and rice. Recommended cooking method: steam;
  7. A more exotic version of this dish: bananas, nuts, raisins and other dried fruits are added to the minced meat;
  8. If you are making meatballs for soup, you can even cook it in water; the meat balls will give a richness;
  9. You can use cream, sour cream, mushroom sauce as a sauce;
  10. Meatballs can be baked and frozen as a pre-cooked meal, removed and cooked if necessary;
  11. If, when sculpting, you get different shapes from semi-finished products, use teaspoons. Scoop the minced meat into one, press down the second and, carefully removing the small ball, immerse it in the boiling broth;

The dish is prepared as follows:

  1. Small meatballs are prepared from minced meat, onions and spices.
  2. Ready-made semi-finished products are fried in a frying pan, poured with sauce, and simmered for 8 minutes.
  3. Spaghetti is boiled in salted water, poured with oil and sauce. Meatballs are placed on top.

Serve the dish immediately after cooking, garnished with basil leaves. You can serve the salad with cheese and olives separately.

Step-by-step recipe for meatballs in a frying pan

Step 1.

Cooking meatballs should begin by seasoning the minced meat. But first, I suggest preparing the vegetables that we will need much earlier.

First of all, peel the carrots. Afterwards, be sure to rinse and pass through a grater. I use it in large quantities in cooking, you will see this in the finished gravy.

Peel the onions. Then wash and cut into small pieces. Place it on a plate, we'll be back to it soon.

Step 2.

Now let's start seasoning the minced meat. Place the meat in a deep bowl, add all the chopped onions to it. Season with salt and ground black pepper, mix everything.

I used beef meat in the preparation. You can replace it with any other type: pork, chicken, or use a mixed version.

I added a small amount of water to the minced meat. This way the meat becomes more pliable. And the meatballs turn out much juicier when ready. If your meat is already juicy, then you can omit this point.

Step 3.

The minced meat is prepared, you can start shaping our products. Pinch off a small piece of meat and remember it a little in your hands. Then roll into a smooth ball.

The size of the meatballs depends on your preference.

Step 4.

Before frying the meatballs, you need to heat the oil. Therefore, we put the saucepan (frying pan) on the fire. Pour a small amount of vegetable oil into it to cover the bottom. Then we lay out our balls, keeping the distance between them. Under no circumstances should you throw them on top of each other.

Fry the meatballs under a closed lid until white. Once the meat balls change color, you can add tomato paste and chopped carrots.

Once you add the tomato sauce and carrots, the mixture can be mixed. Then continue the frying process over medium heat for 5 minutes.

Step 5.

After the stated time, add water to the saucepan (frying pan).

The amount of liquid can be any. If you want more gravy, pour it in, stop less when you reach half of the meat balls.

We won’t be stewing the meatballs in the broth for long, 20 minutes will be enough. The heat can be reduced to minimum, but it is preferable to cover the product with a lid.

Step 6.

And here’s what I got when it was ready. The carrots are completely cooked. And the meatballs are ready. All that remains is to make the side dish and you can serve it to the table.

My quantity of meatballs is small, because we eat everything in one sitting. So as not to leave it for later. You can double the amount of ingredients, then you will get much more meat balls.
