Homemade Barney Bears recipe

Good afternoon, dear readers! Today we are preparing Barney bears at home. The finished cupcakes are airy, tender, and simply melt in your mouth. This dessert will appeal to both children and adults. Believe me, after baking you will have to repeat the recipe more than once for an encore.

Many children love this dessert, but, unfortunately, the composition of store-bought cupcakes is far from ideal.

In addition, regularly buying bears in the store is expensive for the budget. Therefore, you can “kill 2 birds with one stone”: both save money and be confident in the composition of the food.

Trust me, your family will love this new homemade Barney Bears recipe.

Ingredients for the dough:

1. Flour – 130 g

2. Eggs – 3 pcs.

3. Sugar – 100 g

4. Baking powder – 1 tsp.

5. Butter - 30 gr.

Filling:

1. Boiled condensed milk – 100 g

Ingredients for glaze:

1. Powdered sugar – 100 g

2. Lemon juice – 1 tbsp.

3. Boiled water – 1 tbsp.

Step by step recipe:

1. Beat eggs with sugar.

2. The mass should thicken and turn noticeably white. Whipping time – 10-15 minutes. If desired, you can separate the eggs into whites and yolks and beat separately. And only then combine everything with sugar.

3. Melt the butter and let it cool. Add to the dough.

4. Sift the flour together with the baking powder. Mix into the egg-sugar mixture with a spatula or mixer. No baking powder? Replace it with a mixture of soda and citric acid. The dough will rise perfectly and no one will notice the substitution.

5. Prepare a baking dish in the shape of bears. If the mold is silicone, then you do not need to lubricate it with oil. If you have an iron mold, then first grease it with butter and sprinkle with flour. This technique is called the “French shirt”.

Place 1 tablespoon of dough into each mold.

6. Add 1 teaspoon of filling to the middle - in our case, boiled condensed milk. Also, condensed milk can be replaced with banana, sweets, berries or even jam.

Pour another spoonful of dough on top to cover the filling. An important point: do not add too much dough, the form should eventually be filled to 3⁄4 of the total volume.

7. Bake Barney bears in the oven at 190 degrees. Baking time – 20 minutes. Check the doneness of the cupcakes with a skewer or toothpick (if you stick them in the middle and take them out, they should come out clean, without any traces of batter). You can also check for doneness by lightly pressing in the middle of the cake.

8. Remove the bears from the molds and let them cool to room temperature.

9. At this time, prepare the glaze. Pour lemon juice into the powdered sugar and, adding a little water, stir until smooth. Instead of white icing, you can make a chocolate coating.

10. Cover the finished baked goods with glaze and decorate to your liking.

11. Classic Barney bears are ready!

Additional Information:

If you don’t have a bear-shaped baking dish on hand, don’t worry. The dough is versatile, and you can bake regular cupcakes using this recipe, or make one large cupcake for the whole family.

In this case, you can add the filling in the middle of the baking, or skip this step altogether. The main thing to remember is that if you are baking a large cake, you will most likely have to increase the baking time.

The finished dessert should be poured with glaze and decorated as desired.

Is the frosting not coming out? The problem has a simple solution - chop the chocolate with a knife to fine crumbs. Melt it in a water bath or in the microwave.

Gently pour the top of the pastry. Let the chocolate layer cool to room temperature. The frosting will be rich in color and flavor, and your cupcake will benefit from this substitution.
