It is at such moments that I remember the simplest, but very tasty dish - lavash rolls with cheese. This is not even a simple, but a super-simple recipe, for which you will essentially need only two products - cheese and lavash.

Cut the pita bread into rectangles. Place the filling on each of them and distribute it over the entire surface. Wrap it in a tube and place it on a plate.

Heat a frying pan well, pour a little oil and fry the rolls over medium heat.

Lavash rolls with potatoes are homemade fast food)). It’s clear that no one will specifically boil potatoes or anything like that, unless they want to try something new. Usually such tubes are prepared if there are boiled potatoes left over from the evening. For breakfast, and with a cup of coffee - just right.

Your children will also love these quick lavash products, with a crispy crust. You can take them to school for a snack or on a picnic.

You can roll the tubes from round lavash, cut into segments, as well as from long Armenian ones. Although any will do. So I advise you to use this snack, it will help you out more than once.

To prepare pita bread rolls with potatoes, prepare the necessary set of products.

Peel the potatoes and boil in salted water until tender.

Prepare the grease filler. To do this, mix yogurt, vegetable oil, milk and salt.

Separately, fry the onions in butter or vegetable oil. This step can be omitted, but potatoes taste much better with onions.

Cut the pita bread into equal squares. If it is round, then into segments.

Drain the water from the finished potatoes. Add the fried onion in oil and mash until pureed. If the potatoes are supposed to be without onions, then simply put a piece of butter in the mashed potatoes. You can also add grated cheese or herbs, there are many options.

Grease the prepared lavash squares with milk sauce until they become soft and pliable.

Place the potato filling on one corner of the pita square.

Roll it up, tucking the corners inward.

Place the lavash tubes on a baking sheet. Brush with beaten egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Bake in an oven preheated to 180 degrees until the rolls are browned. Focus on the properties of your oven.

Lavash rolls with potatoes are best served hot, while they are crispy, with tea or coffee.

Filled with mashed potatoes

A very filling and nutritious dish! I often serve these tubes as a side dish for meat, chicken or fish. It turns out very beautiful and unusual. They taste very much like potato pies, only they have a crispy, fried crust.

To prepare, take:

  • 5-6 medium potatoes;
  • 150 gr. cheese;
  • 2 eggs;
  • 80 gr. butter;
  • dill, parsley;
  • sesame seeds.

Boil the potatoes and mash them well with butter. Add finely chopped herbs, salt and pepper. You can also add grated cheese to the filling, then it will be even tastier.

Prepare lavash strips of the desired size. Place prepared mashed potatoes on each and roll into a tube.

Line a baking tray with baking paper, which is lightly greased with oil. Place rolls on it.

Beat the eggs well, brush the surface of the tubes with them and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Place the baking sheet in the oven, preheated to 180 degrees.

It turns out so beautiful and delicious!

You can add fried onions to the filling or make just one puree.

Lavash roll with raw minced meat. Do-it-yourself hot lavash roll with minced meat in the oven

Instead of potatoes stewed with meat, which has firmly established itself at our celebrations as a “crown” dish, we suggest serving meatloaf baked in the oven as a main course. And in order not to bother with its base for a long time, you can use unleavened Armenian lavash bread.

Ingredients

  • Armenian thin lavash – 1 large sheet.
  • Minced chicken or pork – 400 g.
  • Medium size onion – 1 pc.
  • Small carrots - 1 root vegetable.
  • Large chicken eggs – 1 pc.
  • Greens – 1 bunch.
  • Salt – 1/3 tsp.
  • Ground black pepper – 1/3 tsp.
  • Sesame or flax seed – 1 tsp.
  • Vegetable oil without aroma – 1.5 tbsp.

How to bake delicious meatloaf in pita bread in your home oven

We prepare the meat base of the treat in the same way as in the first case - we clean, chop and stew the vegetables, add minced meat and cook in a covered frying pan, seasoned with spices.

After removing the filling from the heat, cool it and apply it evenly over the entire area of the pita bread.

Spread thin bread on the table and evenly spread minced meat on it, sprinkle chopped herbs on top.

Secrets of the most delicious meatloaf

  • In this case, we will need exactly a meter-long sheet of pita bread about 40 cm wide. It is most convenient to roll it into a roll, and it will completely fit on a standard baking sheet.
  • If the minced meat turns out to be a bit dry (this happens with chicken products), it can be made more juicy by beating in 1 egg (it is not indicated in the recipe).

Carefully roll the lavash sheet into a roll and place the finished product on a greased baking sheet. Before putting it in a preheated oven, you need to brush the semi-finished pastries with a raw egg on top, shaking it first, and sprinkle with sesame or flax seeds.

Baking time at 180°C is about 20 minutes. As soon as the top of the roll is covered with a golden crust, it will be possible to remove it from the oven.

The roll will taste best when warm, so you don’t need to cool it too much. You can serve this original dish with barbecue sauce or another tomato-based sauce.

Briefly about lavash

According to Wikipedia, lavash has ancient Armenian origins. It is unleavened white bread in the form of a thin flatbread made from wheat flour, widespread mainly among the peoples of the Caucasus, Iran, Afghanistan[2] and other regions of Western Asia.

But for me the most important thing is that it is yeast-free and can be bought in almost any store. You can try making it at home, but I usually buy it at the store. The main thing is to look at the expiration date when purchasing, as it spoils very quickly.
