You can prepare grape compote for the winter in several ways: with or without cooking, with the addition of additional fruits and berries, with or without sterilization. If you choose the option without cooking, it is recommended to add more sugar to the drink than usual to prevent possible souring of the product. If the compote is cooked, it must be boiled. You can also pour a small amount of lemon juice or citric acid into the drink. It is worth taking into account that natural yeast settles on the grape skins, the activation of which in a twisted container is completely undesirable. In this regard, grape compote is easiest to pre-heat. The presence of seeds in berries has almost no effect; leaving them, removing them, or using seedless varieties is a matter of personal choice and taste.

- Berry compote: how to cook it for every day using a simple recipe
How much sugar and berries should I put in a 3-liter jar?
This delicious drink is prepared from a wide variety of grape varieties. Combinations of different types will have a special rich taste and color.
Grapes contain a lot of acid, but the amount of sugar will depend on the natural sweetness of the fruit. The sweeter the variety, the correspondingly less granulated sugar is required. You can adjust its quantity during cooking. Use half of the specified amount first, and when trying the compote, you can add sweetness depending on your preferences.
Make sure that the canned drink is not too sour. Too much sugar will spoil the compote and make its taste cloying.
On average, a 3-liter jar takes 250-400 g of sand. We use a minimum of 500 g of fruit.
If you want to preserve the fruits for later use, then you need to increase the sugar to 300 grams per liter of water.
In this case, the grapes should fill a three-liter jar by 1/3, and if you need a drink with a richer taste, then add so many berries so that they fill the jar halfway.
Fewer berries will make the compote bland, and vice versa, when you add more of them, the drink will be too concentrated.
In recipes with additional ingredients, time them so that they also cover the container halfway.

Strain the cooled liquid and squeeze out all the juice from the berries. The remaining cake can not be thrown away, but used as a raw material for making homemade moonshine.
Add sugar to the strained juice, put it on the fire again, now after boiling it is enough to boil the juice for 10 minutes. Now the drink is poured into sterilized jars and screwed on with lids. Don't forget to turn the jars over and cover them; in this state, the juice should cool completely. Homemade grape juice prepared according to this recipe can be stored for a long time, even in a room at room temperature.

Before brewing the drink, study the culinary recommendations and choose the appropriate recipe. In this case, harvesting for the winter will work out in the best possible way.
Cooking step by step:
Step 1
To prepare a delicious homemade grape compote for the winter, we will need the following ingredients: drinking water, fresh grapes and sugar.
Step 2
Wash the grapes (600 grams) under cold running water, then let the liquid drain. There is no need to remove the berries from the bunches! True, it is important to understand that the raw materials, that is, the berries themselves on the branches, must be of excellent quality - without traces of mold and rot.
Step 3
Prepare dishes in advance for future berry preparation - jars and lids. We will need 1 three-liter jar or two one and a half jars (like mine) or three liter jars. Wash the jars thoroughly with soda or mustard, rinse and sterilize in the oven, microwave or on the stove (as you prefer). The lids need to be boiled in water (5 minutes) or simply washed and poured with boiling water (lately I have been practicing this method). Place the grapes directly on the clusters in jars (300 grams each).
Step 4
You need to put the water on to warm up in advance. When it boils, pour the grapes into the jars - almost to the very edge. By the way, boil a little more water than indicated in the recipe (for example, 2.5 liters).
Step 5
Immediately cover (screw, but not completely) the jars with the prepared lids and leave for 15 minutes.
Step 6
During this time, the grapes will warm up, the berries will partially crack (this depends on the thickness of the skin) - this is the first filling, which contributes to long-term storage of the workpiece.
Step 7
Drain the water from the jars back into the pan. There should be no liquid left in the jars of grapes.
Step 8
Pour 300 grams of granulated sugar into the water, mix and place the pan on the stove. Over medium heat, stirring, let the compote boil. Cook for literally 1-2 minutes.
Step 9
Pour boiling grape compote over the berries in the jar to the very top and immediately close with a seaming key or screw on with screw caps.
Step 10
Turn the jars over with their lids down, wrap them in something warm and leave them like that until they cool completely. After this, store the grape compote in a dry and dark place. Not necessarily in a cellar or basement - it is also perfectly stored in a city apartment.
Step 11
You will love this aromatic, moderately sweet and very tasty homemade grape compote.
Step 12
The most delicious compote is made from homemade grapes (in my opinion, from dark varieties, in particular Isabella or Moldova)). Cook for your health, successful preparations and bon appetit, friends!
Delicious aromatic grapes are loved by adults and children. Recipes for grape compote for the winter will help you make vitamin reserves for the cold season, when the grape season is already over. How to cook
So, let's take a closer look at how to cook compote from apples and grapes. First, of course, the fruit must be washed. It would be a good idea to sort through them, removing any rotten or wormy ones. Apples can be cut into 4 parts, leaving the core and seeds intact. After a cool “shower,” the grapes can be picked, or they can be left directly on the branches. In most cases, housewives strain the finished compote, so you can leave both apple seeds and grape branches. Place fruits and berries in a saucepan, add the required amount of sugar, and pour water.
Compote from fresh grapes and apples is prepared very quickly. After boiling, set the timer to 5 minutes. Don't forget to cover the pan with a lid. Very often compotes “run away”. To avoid this, pour a little less water than indicated in the recipe. Leave the finished compote to brew for 15-20 minutes. We strain it, pouring it into a jug, bottle or jar. Can be put in the refrigerator.
