  4. Then you need to add fried vegetables to the resulting mixture and mix everything thoroughly again.

All components are prepared, you can assemble the cake. The first cake is placed on a special dish. It must be thoroughly greased with mayonnaise, on top of which lay a layer of the finished filling. Next, you need to repeat all the manipulations in the same sequence. The final, top cake should also be thoroughly greased with mayonnaise and sprinkled with grated cheese.

The snack cake is ready. In order for it to brew well and soak, it needs to be put in the refrigerator for 12 hours.

How to cook “Fish pie from Napoleon cakes”

1. If you like fish dishes, then fish pie made from Napoleon cakes is a good alternative to fish salads and hot pies. To prepare this dish we will need ready-made Napoleon cake layers. They are sold in stores, but if you want to make them yourself, please do so. I decided to save time, especially since unexpected guests came to visit me.

2. First, we need to start filling: fry the onions and carrots in vegetable oil, then let the vegetables cool. Meanwhile, hard boil the eggs and let them cool.

3. Mix the fried eggs, then add the canned fish. I usually take pink salmon in its own juice or sardine with added oil. Mash the fish with a fork and remove visible bones. Mix the fish with eggs and fry - now the filling is ready.

4. Take the Napoleon cakes, grease them with mayonnaise and lay out the filling. Then we close it with another cake layer and repeat the procedure again. And we do this with all the cakes.

5. At the very end, sprinkle with grated cheese and place the Napoleon fish pie in the refrigerator for a while.

6. It’s better if the cake is soaked. We serve it to the table whole. The pie can be decorated with herbs.

Original cake made from homemade dough

Components

Ingredients for the first test:

  • About 200 g margarine;
  • 2/3 cup flour.

Second test option:

  • One chicken egg;
  • A little cold water;
  • Two glasses of flour;
  • 1/4 tbsp lemon juice;
  • A pinch of salt.

Ingredients of tasty and juicy filling:

  • Canned food;
  • Four medium onions;
  • Three large carrots;
  • 80 grams of hard cheese;
  • Any greens according to your preference;
  • Mayonnaise.

Cooking technology

The dough can be prepared in two ways. First test option:

  1. Creamy margarine must be chopped with flour using a knife into fine crumbs.
  2. Then form the resulting mixture into a tight ball and put it in the refrigerator for about half an hour.
  3. Second test option:
  4. Take a deep container, pour flour into it, add a little salt and lemon juice.
  5. Break one egg into a small glass, add a little cold water and stir the mixture.
  6. Carefully pour the resulting mass into a container with flour and begin to knead the dough.
  7. Initially knead the mixture using a tablespoon, then you can simply mix it with your own hands.
  8. Roll out the finished composition into a layer, put the dough from the refrigerator on it, carefully wrap it in the form of an envelope and place it in the refrigerator for half an hour.

After this period of time, take the dough out of the refrigerator, roll it out, fold it into an envelope and put it back in the refrigerator. All manipulations with the dough must be repeated in this sequence at least three times.

While the finished dough is “resting” in the refrigerator, you can prepare the filling for the snack cake. To do this, you need to take a deep container and put canned fish and liquid into it from a can. Grind the fish with a fork, if necessary, remove the bones. Thoroughly peel the onion and cut it into small pieces using a sharp knife.

Wash the carrots thoroughly under running water and grate them on a coarse grater. Grate hard cheese (any kind can be used, entirely at the discretion of the housewife) on a coarse grater. Take a small frying pan, put it on medium heat, add a little sunflower oil, heat it up and put chopped onion in it. Lightly fry the onion until transparent and add grated carrots to it. Cover the frying pan with a lid and simmer the vegetables until fully cooked. Add a little salt, remove the pan from the heat, and let the vegetables cool.

It's time to start testing again. We take it out of the refrigerator and divide it into six equal parts. Roll out one part of the dough into a small rectangular layer; during the rolling process, periodically lightly dust the dough with flour. We take the finished cakes out of the oven and send the next ones there. So you need to bake all 6 cakes.

Napoleon with cream cheese and sour cream

Anyone can easily and quickly prepare a delicious snack Napoleon with canned fish according to step-by-step instructions with photos. Because the Napoleon recipe uses instant puff pastry. Thanks to this dough, puff pastries are tender and crumbly.

Snack Napoleon ingredients are easily available and go well together. The sides and top of the cake are greased with cream cheese, which can be replaced with mayonnaise. Any type of fish is suitable as canned food: mackerel, horse mackerel in oil, red fish.

Dough for 12 round cakes:

  • 2 cups of flour;
  • 200 g butter;
  • 0.5 glasses of water;
  • 0.5 tsp. soda

Filling:

  • 5 eggs;
  • 2 cans of canned fish;
  • mayonnaise;
  • 300 g cream cheese (cream cheese);
  • 2 tbsp. l. sour cream;
  • 100 g hard cheese;
  • 3 carrots;
  • green onions.

Preparation of fish Napoleon:

Sift the flour into a deep bowl. Cut the butter into cubes, then chop with a sheath with flour so that you get a homogeneous flour crumb.

Make a small depression in the center of the flour, add water, soda, slaked with vinegar. Knead the dough into a soft dough that comes away from the bowl. If necessary, add a little more flour, but carefully, as the dough should remain tender and soft.

Then divide it into 12 parts, cover with cling film, and then put it in the refrigerator for 1 hour.

Then take one piece out of the refrigerator and roll it out thinly. A plate or pan lid is placed on a layer of dough, cutting out a circle.

Then the dough is carefully wrapped on a rolling pin and transferred to a baking sheet. The surface of the layer is pierced with a fork and baked in a preheated oven at a temperature of 220-240 C.

The remaining dough from each piece is combined into one lump, rolled out thinly and baked until brown. These cakes are then cooled and crushed into fine crumbs.

Mayonnaise sauce

The garlic is peeled, crushed, combined with mayonnaise, and mixed until smooth.

Boil the carrots, transfer them to a plate, cool, and peel them. Then grind it using a fine grater, add mayonnaise and garlic, mix.

Boil the eggs hard for 12-15 minutes, then pour cold water until completely cool.

The eggs are peeled, finely chopped and seasoned with garlic mayonnaise.

The fish is separated from large bones, mashed with a fork until mushy, and oily liquid from a jar is added.

Forming the cake

Grease a flat plate with mayonnaise, place the cake on top, and then spread a thin layer of mayonnaise with a brush to brush the dough.

Spread an even layer of carrots onto the first cake layer.

The filling is covered with a second cake layer, which is also greased with mayonnaise, and a layer of eggs is placed on top.

Canned fish is placed on the third cake layer.

Next, the layers are repeated until the cakes and filling are finished.

Do not put filling on the top crust. Cream cheese is combined with 2 tbsp. l. sour cream, stir until smooth.

Then grease the sides and top of the cake, then sprinkle with crumbs. And the top is decorated with chopped green onions and hard cheese.

The top of the Napoleon cake is carefully covered with cling film so that the cheese does not dry out. Napoleon with the canned food is sent to soak in the refrigerator overnight.

In the morning, Napoleon is served sliced ​​on the table for breakfast.

Preparation

Apply a layer of mayonnaise and sour cream mixture to all (4 pcs.) cake layers. For those who are not afraid of gaining weight, you can use only mayonnaise, or switch to low-calorie mayonnaise.

Spread the sauce well over the entire surface.

Mash the canned fish with a fork. If there is too much liquid, drain it. Apply to the entire surface of the fish.

Cover with the second cake layer.

Fry finely chopped onion and grated carrots in oil. Make the next layer with it. Cover with cake again.

Boil 2 eggs and grate them on a coarse grater. Sprinkle them over the surface of the sauce. Cover with cake.

Coarsely grate the cheese and cover the entire surface of the crust. Cover with the last layer of cake. If there is sauce left, then turn the last cake layer over with the sauce down, apply the sauce on top and sprinkle with crumbs of the remaining cake layer. Immediately cut into squares, because... then the cake will be well soaked and it will no longer be possible to cut it beautifully. Decorate, for example, with rings of chopped olives or olives.   • Canned fish (250 g. I have pink salmon, I think it can be used with saury and tuna) - 1 can.
  • Curd cheese (I have “Arla Natura” curd cheese with smoked salmon) - 140 g
  • Mayonnaise

Cooking process

A very interesting version of a snack cake, which will look similar in appearance to a sweet Napoleon cake, only it will be decorated not with berries, but with chopped green onions and cherry tomatoes, and the filling inside is not sweet. By placing such a dish on the festive table, you will not only surprise your guests, but you will also then share the recipe for this snack cake with them.

To prepare such a cake, ideally use the same cake layers as for the sweet Napoleon cake. So if you bake this cake, then it won’t be difficult for you to bake just cake layers for a snack cake with canned fish. But if you don’t want to waste time on dough, buy regular puff pastry without yeast in the store.

We've sorted out the dough, let's start preparing the Napoleon snack cake with canned fish, for which we first boil the eggs and carrots, and also take the rest of the necessary products.

Let's bake cake layers. Divide the dough into 5 parts, roll each part separately into a rectangle, bake at 180 degrees for about 10 minutes.

Immediately cut the edges to the size of the dish on which we will assemble the cake. Then we chop the trimmings from all the cakes and use them to sprinkle the top and sides of the cake.

When the cakes are ready, prepare the filling. Open a can of saury, salt the oil, and chop the fish with a fork.

Peel and grate the carrots that have been boiled in advance, add 1-2 tablespoons of mayonnaise and a little salt to taste, and mix.

For the egg filling, we also grate boiled and peeled eggs, add mayonnaise to them, a little salt or ground pepper if desired.

Let's start assembling the cake. I’ll tell you about one little trick that will make your snack cake stand firmly on the dish and not slide around on it. To prevent this from happening, spread a small amount of mayonnaise and cream cheese mixture in the middle of the dish, place the crust on top and press well. That's all, thanks to this the cake will stand in place. Coat the first cake with mayonnaise and add half of the prepared saury.

Cover with the second cake layer and place the carrot filling on it. There is no need to pre-coat the cake with mayonnaise, because the carrots are already with mayonnaise.

We place the third cake layer on top, which we cover with a filling of grated eggs and mayonnaise.

Then we place the fourth cake layer, press it tightly and grease it, like the first cake layer, with mayonnaise, on top of which we place the remaining fish.

Let's try other fillings for puff pastries

There will be material here without photos, I hope the principle is clear to you, it is the same for all similar pies made from ready-made cake layers. I’ll just tell you briefly what products you can use for fillings and how to prepare them.

By the way, they asked me if it’s possible to use waffle cakes? I haven’t tried it myself, but a friend of mine makes a similar snack cake from them. We published the recipe along with a selection of other delicious snacks for the holiday table.

Pie with meat and mushrooms

It’s best to take chicken as meat, and I usually have champignons; others don’t grow in our stores and the area)).

It is recommended to eat it hot.

Products:

  • chicken fillet - a piece of 250-300 grams
  • fresh champignons – 200 grams
  • carrots – 1 pc.
  • onions – 2 pcs.
  • cheese - 150 grams
  • The cakes themselves and the mayonnaise, you don’t even need to mention them.

How to cook

  1. Boil the eggs, cool, crumble.
  2. Chop the onion and saute in a frying pan in vegetable oil. Separate half the onion.
  3. Stew one part of the onion with grated carrots.
  4. The second half is with finely chopped raw mushrooms.
  5. Finely chop the chicken fillet and fry separately from other products.
  6. Mix the chicken mixture with the mushroom mixture.

Layers:

  1. Carrots with onions.
  2. Chicken with mushrooms.
  3. Eggs
  4. Onion-carrot.
  5. Chicken.
  6. Sprinkle grated cheese on top.

Place in the oven for 15 minutes.

Spring pie with cabbage and herbs
