Genghis Khan salad with beets is prepared very simply and easily, laid out in layers. The combination of products is delicious and everyone will like it. The salad can easily be served on a holiday table.

Genghis Khan salad with prunes and nuts - a classic recipe

You can simply boil the chicken meat, but the original recipe suggests frying the meat, this will give the salad a certain flavor note, which will also make it stand out from others.

Take:

  • Chicken breast – 200 gr.
  • Walnuts – 50 gr.
  • Prunes – 50 gr.
  • Beets – 2 pcs.
  • Carrot.
  • Cheese, hard – 75 gr.
  • Garlic cloves – 3 pcs.
  • Sunflower oil – 2 tablespoons.
  • Mayonnaise, pepper, salt, dill sprigs.

If you want to give the dish a more interesting taste, replace the walnut kernels with pine nuts. A slight deviation from the classics will not be a big mistake; on the contrary, you will create a new version of “Genghis Khan”, no less appetizing.

Step by step recipe:

The day before, boil the beets and carrots, cool, and peel. Also, steam the prunes in advance if the plums are too dry. To do this, pour boiling water over them for a quarter of an hour. After draining the liquid, dry the prunes with a paper towel.

Rinse the chicken fillet and be sure to dry it. Cut into medium sized cubes or strips.

Add oil to the frying pan and heat it thoroughly. Lay out the sliced ​​meat. Fry until the liquid evaporates. Then continue frying until the fillets are done. Salt and pepper the meat during the process. A golden brown crust is optional. Transfer to a plate and cool.

Grate the peeled beets on a large-mesh grater.

Chop carrots and a piece of cheese in the same way. Place into separate bowls.

Remove seeds from steamed prunes, if any. Cut the pulp into thin strips.

Peel the walnuts and chop the kernels into fine crumbs. If you want the aroma of the nuts to be more pronounced, after cleaning, fry them in a dry frying pan, without adding oil.

We collect the salad. To do this, place a cooking ring on a wide flat plate. You can do without it, but then you will have to trim the sides later. Make the base of the salad from grated beets, adding exactly half of the specified amount. Be sure to even out the layer. Add some salt.

Cover the beets with the fried chicken.

Scatter the crushed nuts. Generously pour mayonnaise on top.

Place carrots.

Next make the cheese layer.

Pour mayonnaise sauce over again and smooth out.

Distribute the prunes and coat with mayonnaise.

Add crushed garlic cloves to the remaining beets. Mix well.

Place the last layer, cover with mayonnaise, smooth out the sauce. Send the Genghis Khan preparation to the refrigerator shelf to soak.

After an hour, carefully remove the salad from the cooking ring.

Genghis Khan salad does not require any special decoration. Sprinkle it with chopped dill and scatter the remaining nut crumbs. You can use grated egg whites and green onions. The dish is ready, it’s time to bring it to the table and take the first sample.

But I think he definitely prepared this salad, as they say: from all the ingredients in the house.
