Cod in a slow cooker. Recipes for steaming, in foil with sour cream, vegetables, cream step by step

Publication in the group: Recipes in a slow cooker

Cod is a unique fish because it contains a very large amount of polyunsaturated fatty acids. As a result, such a product can improve the condition of the heart and blood vessels, normalize blood pressure, protect against the formation of blood clots, and reduce the risk of developing colorectal cancer. To add cod to your regular diet, you can cook it in a slow cooker using one of the recipes below.

The simplest recipe

According to the simplest recipe, in addition to fish, only lemon juice and pepper will be used. The result is a light dish that you can safely add to your menu even on a diet. Especially if you choose the right side dish for it.

What ingredients will you need?

For the dish you need to take:

  • fresh frozen cod – 1 pc.;
  • water – 200-250 ml;
  • lemon juice – 2-3 tsp;
  • salt pepper.

Step-by-step cooking process

The cooking process includes several stages:

  1. First you need to prepare the fish. It should be defrosted, cleaned of scales, and then the fins and entrails should be removed. Next, the carcass should be thoroughly rinsed under running cold water and cut into portioned steaks.

  2. Then each piece will need to be grated with pepper and salt to taste and sprinkled with lemon juice. Next, place the workpieces in a special container for steaming.
  3. After pouring water into the multicooker bowl, you need to turn on the cooking mode.
  4. When the liquid begins to boil, place a container with cod on top.

All that remains is to close the lid and select the “Steam” program for half an hour.

What can I add?

In addition to black pepper, you can add other spices to this dish. For example, mixtures prepared for cooking fish.

Rules for serving dishes, decoration

As a side dish for such a treat, it is best to choose fresh or baked vegetables. For example, tomatoes, zucchini, carrots.

For a couple

Cod in a slow cooker, recipes for which are presented later in the article, is especially useful if you steam it. For this purpose, the multicooker has a special mode and a nozzle with holes. The fish will be prepared according to this recipe immediately with a side dish - buckwheat.

What ingredients will you need?

For the dish you need to take:

  • cod fillet – 750-800 g;
  • buckwheat – 170-180 g;
  • milk (any fat content) – 200-250 ml;
  • Russian mustard – 30-35 g;
  • butter – 50-60 g;
  • salt, parsley, thyme.

Step-by-step cooking process

The cooking process includes several stages:

  1. First of all, the fish must be washed and cut into small equal pieces.
  2. To make the meat soft and juicy, the chopped fillet should be placed in a deep bowl, poured with milk and left for 40-50 minutes. Then remove and dry on paper towels.

  3. Next is to prepare the sauce. To do this, you will need to mix mustard, seasonings and salt (about 1 tsp) in a plate.
  4. Rub the resulting dressing onto the fish pieces on all sides, then let sit for 10-20 minutes.
  5. The container for steaming food should be covered with foil and the edges of the foil should be raised so that cod juice and fat do not leak out and stain the device.
  6. Then you need to place the marinated fillet in the prepared container. A small amount of butter is placed on top of each portioned piece. This will add calories to the dish, but will make it especially tasty.
  7. You should sort out the buckwheat, rinse thoroughly and fill the multicooker bowl, then add water in a ratio of 1 to 2.

All that remains is to place the dish with cod over the cereal, turn on the “Cooking” mode and set the timer for 30 minutes.

Rules for serving dishes, decoration

As a result, the “kitchen assistant” immediately contains a hot fish dish and a light, healthy side dish for it. When serving, first place a portion of buckwheat on a plate and pieces of cod on top. Complement your meal with delicious fresh vegetables and a variety of sauces. For example, natural unsweetened yogurt with garlic and chopped dill.

In foil

Cod in a slow cooker, the recipes of which can be easily modified to suit your taste, will be as juicy and tender as possible if you cook it in foil.

Cod in a slow cooker. Recipe for cooking in foil.

It is best to use 2 sheets of coating at once so that the juice from the treat does not leak out during the process.

What ingredients will you need?

For the dish you need to take:

  • cod (fillet) – 350-400 g;
  • sour cream – 100-120 ml;
  • processed cheese – 50-70 g;
  • lemon – ½ piece;
  • salt pepper.

Step-by-step cooking process

The cooking process includes several stages:

  1. The previously defrosted fillet must be thoroughly washed and dried, then cut into small pieces.
  2. Next, squeeze out all the juice from half a lemon into a small plate, then add salt and pepper to taste. Everything is thoroughly mixed.
  3. The resulting sauce needs to be rubbed onto each portioned piece. Then leave to marinate for 25-30 minutes.
  4. Processed cheese should be removed from the packaging and placed in the freezer for about half an hour. Then it must be chopped on a coarse grater and combined in one container with sour cream. These ingredients will make an original fish sauce.
  5. At the next stage, the marinated fish should be placed on a large sheet of foil, and the dressing from step 4 should be placed on top. Next, you need to wrap the dish tightly and place it in the multicooker bowl.

All that remains is to select the “Baking” mode and set the time to 40 minutes.

Rules for serving dishes, decoration

The treat should be served hot. It is best served with a vegetable side dish. You can even choose a regular cabbage salad with onions and carrots, dressed with spiced oil. To decorate a ready-made dish, you should use parsley.

Step-by-step preparation

  1. Step 1:

    Prepare all the necessary products. Of course, take fresh, chilled cod. Such fish contains much more useful substances than chilled fish. This can be either cod fillet or steak. If you only have frozen fish, be sure to defrost it properly. Immediately after freezing, place the frozen fish in the refrigerator for 6-8 hours and only then completely defrost it at room temperature.

  2. Step 2:

    If necessary, defrost the fish, wash well and dry with paper towels. Cut into medium sized pieces. Cod holds its shape well and does not get overcooked, so you can use skinless cod fillets.

  3. Step 3:

    We only need lemon juice. Therefore, it is quite possible to use ready-made lemon juice. If you squeeze juice from a lemon, then first wash it with very hot water, or even scald the lemon with boiling water - this way it will release much more juice. I also recommend using a small sieve so that the lemon seeds do not get into the fish.

  4. Step 4:

    Prepare a slow cooker or steamer. Place the fish pieces in a steaming container.

  5. Step 5:

    Salt it a little. You can add any other favorite herbs or seasonings if you wish. Provencal herbs, thyme or rosemary are perfect here. But for some, regular ground pepper will be enough.

  6. Step 6:

    Pour water into the bowl of a multicooker or steamer. You can add to it to flavor the dish, for example, bay leaf or allspice peas. And in the summer, fresh dill or basil will do. Everything you add to the water will ultimately add its flavor to the finished dish.

  7. Step 7:

    Place the container with fish on a bowl of water. In multicookers, the Steam mode usually involves cooking for 15 minutes. This time will be enough for us to fully prepare the fish.

  8. Step 8:

    Steamed fish is very healthy and dietary. Serve steamed cod with fresh herbs and seasonal vegetables. Bon appetit!

With sour cream

Cod in any form goes well with sour cream sauce. For example, fish can be stewed in it using stewing mode in a slow cooker.

The recipe for such a successful dish is published later in the article.

What ingredients will you need?

For the dish you need to take:

  • cod – 650-700 g;
  • white onion – 1-2 heads;
  • sour cream - 4-5 tbsp. l.;
  • seasoning for fish - 1 tsp;
  • fresh parsley – 1 bunch;
  • salt pepper.

Step-by-step cooking process

The cooking process includes several stages:

  1. First of all, the fish should be washed and cut into small pieces of approximately equal length. Next, they should be placed in a deep bowl and sprinkled with salt and pepper to taste.
  2. The onion must be peeled, washed and chopped into thin half rings, the parsley must be finely chopped with a knife.
  3. Then the crushed products need to be added to the fish. You will need to sprinkle the entire contents of the container with seasoning, then carefully mix and refrigerate for half an hour.
  4. After 30-35 minutes, when the cod has been marinated, it must be taken out of the refrigerator, placed in a multicooker bowl along with spices and vegetables and poured with sour cream.

At the last step, all that remains is to close the lid, turn on the “Extinguishing” program and wait 30 minutes.

Rules for serving dishes, decoration

The finished dish comes with a delicate sour cream sauce. Therefore, it will be delicious to serve with various dry side dishes. For example, with boiled white rice. To make the side dish healthier, you can mix two types of cereals - white and brown.

Cod stewed in a slow cooker with potatoes and sour cream

In my family, we often cook potatoes as a side dish, and fish as a main course. The dish was prepared very quickly in the slow cooker, and the result was simply excellent. You can take any other fish from the cod family (for example, haddock) - it will turn out just as tasty.

Ingredients for the dish:

  • 1-1.5 kg of fish;
  • 1.5-2 kg of potatoes;
  • 500 g sour cream;
  • vegetable oil;
  • salt, pepper, spices to taste.

Cooking method:

1. Rinse the fish, remove fins and tails, and dry. Cut into portions.

2. Peel the potatoes, wash them, cut them into thin slices.

3. Pour a little oil into the bottom of the multicooker bowl and place a layer of potatoes so that it completely covers it.

4. Top with a layer of fish, brush with sour cream, salt and pepper.

5. Repeat the sequence until you run out of food. Don't forget to add salt and spices.

6. The top should be potatoes, which also need to be greased with sour cream, salt and pepper.

Fill the bowl with water until it lightly covers the surface of the last layer. Set the mode to “High pressure” and the time for 10 minutes. If there is no pressure cooker function, the dish should be cooked for about 30-40 minutes. In the Redmond multicooker I cook in the “Baking” mode.

For vegetables, I recommend stewed cabbage or boil green beans, seasoning them with oil.

With carrots

Ripe carrots will give you a dish with a delicate sweetish flavor.

The cooking process includes several stages:

  1. To start, you need to wash the cod fillet and cut it into medium-sized pieces. Afterwards, place it in a deep container to drain excess liquid.
  2. Vegetables are first washed and then chopped. The carrots need to be grated on a coarse grater, the bell peppers and onions should be chopped into half rings, the tomatoes should be chopped into large pieces.

  3. Next you need to prepare the sauce. Prepared tomatoes for this are placed in a blender bowl along with lemon juice, sugar, and water. You will need to grind the ingredients until smooth.
  4. In the next step, portioned pieces of cod will need to be placed in a multicooker bowl, pour vegetable oil on top and sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Then add the vegetables chopped in step 2 to the fish. Then pour all the contents with the previously prepared tomato sauce.

How to choose cod

High-quality fish has no external damage.
It has an even color without spots, and the surface is slightly moist, without sticky mucus or plaque. It feels elastic and not loose to the touch, and after pressing it restores its shape well. If the cod is sold whole, additionally evaluate the gills: they should be rich red in color, without spots. The eyes are not cloudy, transparent. The smell is natural, fishy and fresh, not sharp and without foreign impurities.
