How to prepare Tiger Cub salad, step-by-step recipe with photos
- Boil unpeeled potatoes, carrots and chicken eggs until tender. When vegetables are boiled with their skins on, they retain more nutrients. Cool to a comfortable temperature and peel all ingredients.
2. Grate the potatoes on a coarse grater and place on a large flat plate in the shape of a tiger’s face.
3. Cover generously with mayonnaise. We recommend using homemade mayonnaise, it is healthier, much tastier and can be prepared in 5 minutes.
4. Remove bones and skin from the red fish fillet and cut into large pieces. Place next layer of salad.
5. Place boiled eggs chopped on a coarse grater on top of the fish.
6. Cover with mayonnaise again.
7. Since the tiger is orange, it is logical that the last layer of the salad will be boiled carrots, which also need to be chopped on a coarse grater. Distribute evenly over the entire surface of the salad, including the sides.
8. Now let’s start decorating the salad, which needs to be given the recognizable features of a tiger’s face. Let's start with the vibross (the place where a tiger's whiskers grow). We will make it from grated egg white. The nose is an olive. Bangs – grated cheese.
9. Place slices of egg white in place of the eyes. The tongue is a slice of ham. Next, all the black spots that give the tiger its characteristic color are laid out using chopped olives.
Finally
Thus, there are many options for preparing Tiger Cub salad. The dish turns out tasty and nutritious, and most importantly, it is originally designed; every child and adult will definitely like it. The finished salad will delight every little person, especially if it is served, for example, at a holiday table.

Recipe for “Tiger” with chicken and mushrooms
Of all the Tiger salad options, this one is the most classic. At least, it is prepared most often. This salad does not require so many products:
- chicken breast – 300 g;
- champignons – 300 g;
- boiled eggs – 5 pcs.;
- carrots – 4 pcs.;
- onion – 1 head;
- black caviar (you can use non-natural caviar), olives (black and green), a piece of tomato, a slice of champignon - for decoration;
- mayonnaise - to taste.
Cut the mushrooms into thin slices, chop the onion as finely as possible. Fry both products together in a small amount of vegetable oil. When cooled, place the first layer in the shape of a truncated cone. Grease the layer with mayonnaise.
Grind the eggs on a coarse grater. Three eggs can be grated whole, and the whites of two eggs can be grated in a separate bowl for decoration. Place the mixture of whites and yolks on the mushrooms and coat with sauce.
Along with the mushrooms, fry the chicken breast cut into small cubes in oil. This layer will be the third. It also needs to be greased with mayonnaise.
Grate the carrots on a fine grater and sprinkle over the entire surface of the salad. Lay out the tiger's face from products for decoration: nose - a piece of mushroom, mouth - a piece of tomato, eyes - green olives, whites of the eyes from the remaining egg whites; Tiger strips made from strips of black olives or black caviar.
If desired, fresh carrots can be replaced with boiled or lightly fried ones, but the taste of the salad will change significantly.
Recipe with sausage and cucumbers
This salad is in many ways reminiscent of the Soviet Olivier, but only laid out in layers and in the shape of a cute tiger’s face. You can replace the sausage in it with ham or chicken, and instead of fresh cucumber, use pickled cucumber. According to the recipe, you need to prepare the following products:
- boiled sausage – 400 g;
- boiled potatoes in their jackets – 400 g;
- boiled carrots – 400 g;
- boiled eggs – 3 pcs. (2 for salad, 1 for decoration);
- cucumbers – 2 pcs. (approximately 100 g);
- leek – 100-150 g;
- olives – 100 g;
- mayonnaise - to taste.
Grate potatoes, carrots and cucumbers on a shredder into separate bowls. Cut the sausage into cubes. Leeks - small pieces.
Place the potatoes in the first layer in the shape of a tiger's face. Next follow: sausage, cucumbers, onions, eggs. Coat all layers generously with mayonnaise. Sprinkle carrots on top of the salad.
The decor in the form of a tiger is made using olives (stripes and eyelashes), eggs (whites of the eyes and muzzle), cucumbers (pupils), sausage (tongue), leek sprigs (mustaches).
Description
A funny, cute and very tasty Tiger Cub salad in the shape of a tiger’s face was invented by an unknown culinary visionary for the New Year of the Tiger. The recipe turned out to be so interesting and unusual that all housewives fell in love with it... and went for a walk around the world! And even though the year of the tiger has passed, such a cool salad can be prepared for any holiday. And by the way, the Year of the Tiger will come again in 2022, so... let's train!
In fact, making a cool face is not at all difficult. You just need to try once - and you will definitely succeed. Like mine :) Imagine, in the photo - the first attempt at making a salad that I have been wanting to make for a long time. Success the first time!
Perhaps your tiger cub's face will turn out a little different. But that's how it should be. Each owner has her own tiger cub, with an individual expression on its face! Some have a cartoon tiger, some have a real adult tiger, but here we have a nice little tiger cub! I wonder what kind you will get?
With smoked chicken and pickles
This variation of “Tiger” is not much different from the previous one. A slightly different order of layers and minimal changes in composition:
- smoked chicken leg (meat) – 250 g;
- boiled potatoes in their jackets – 3 pcs.;
- carrots – 2-3 pcs.;
- boiled eggs – 3 pcs.;
- pickled cucumbers – 3 pcs.;
- green onions – 1 bunch;
- olives - for decoration;
- mayonnaise - to taste.
Chop the meat and cucumbers into small pieces. Grind the potatoes, egg whites and egg yolks on a shredder into separate bowls. Finely chop the onion. In this case, carrots can be used either boiled or fresh. In the first case, it should be grated on a shredder, in the second - on a fine grater.
The salad is assembled in the following sequence: potatoes, cucumbers, green onions, chicken, egg yolks. Coat all layers with mayonnaise, including the top one. The salad is decorated in the shape of a tiger's face using carrots, strips of olives and mayonnaise. Mustaches can be made from small arrows of green onions or simply by inserting toothpicks.

Recipe with chicken liver and cheese
The most common version of this salad is made with Korean carrots. If someone perceives this product negatively, then it can be easily replaced with regular fried carrots. More on this below, but for now about the required products:
- chicken liver – 300 g;
- Korean carrots – 100 g;
- boiled eggs – 4 pcs. (two each for salad and decoration);
- hard cheese – 200 g (150 g for salad and 50 g for decoration);
- canned corn – 1 can;
- onion – 1 head;
- mayonnaise - to taste.
Roughly chop the liver and fry along with finely chopped onion in vegetable oil. Grind the finished mixture in a blender or chop with a knife until a more or less homogeneous mass is obtained. When using fresh carrots, grate them using a shredder or Korean carrot grater and fry until soft. Grate eggs and cheese. In this case, two eggs can be grated completely, and the whites of two eggs can be rubbed into a separate bowl for decoration.
The salad is laid out in layers in the shape of a tiger's head. The layers go in this order: liver (half of the workpiece), cheese, corn, carrots, eggs, remaining liver. Coat all layers except the top with mayonnaise.
The tiger salad is decorated with strips of cheese, carrots and egg white topping. Stripes, eye rims, pupils, nose and mouth are the upper liver layer not covered by other products.
