To prepare the salad you need the following ingredients:

  • mayonnaise – 230 g;
  • beef – 430-450 g;
  • beets – 310 g;
  • walnut kernels – 55 g;
  • carrots – 100 g;
  • pomegranate seeds - 3 tbsp. l.;
  • salt – 0.5 tsp;
  • eggs – 4 pcs.;
  • potatoes – 300 g;
  • hard cheese – 210 g;
  • garlic – 2-3 cloves;
  • chopped greens - 3-4 tbsp. l.;
  • bay leaf, ground black pepper and peas - to taste.

Step-by-step cooking process

Prepare the salad as follows:

  1. First you need to boil the beef until tender - for about 45 minutes, after adding salt, bay leaf, and peppercorns to the water.
  2. Then you should boil and peel the eggs, potatoes and beets.

  3. After this, 3 eggs, raw carrots, cheese and boiled vegetables need to be grated and placed in different containers.
  4. Next, the beef must be minced by cutting it into strips.
  5. Then, on a round dish, using the prepared ingredients, you should form a slide of layers, which will imitate a hat. First, as a base, you need to lay out a layer of most of the potatoes mixed with mayonnaise.
  6. On the next layer you need to spread the beets, which need to be salted, peppered and mixed with half of the pre-chopped nuts.
  7. Then a layer of 170 g of grated cheese, mixed with mayonnaise and half of the garlic passed through a press, is laid out on the beets.
  8. The next layer will be approximately 370 g of chopped beef, sprinkled with grated egg on top. A mayonnaise mesh must be applied to this layer.
  9. At this step, the layers are formed so that they are smaller in diameter than the previous ones. Next, you need to put grated carrots on the eggs and apply a little mayonnaise on it.
  10. Then pour the rest of the grated cheese mixed with the remaining garlic onto the carrots, brush the top with mayonnaise and sprinkle with chopped nuts.
  11. The penultimate layer will be the remaining beef; after laying it, you need to grease it with mayonnaise and sprinkle with herbs.
  12. The last layer should be smaller in diameter than the previous ones - place the remaining potatoes on top of the beef and form a round mound out of it, smearing it with mayonnaise.
  13. At the last step, you need to arrange the pomegranate seeds along the contour as a edging for the cap, and decorate the top with grated egg, herbs and nuts.
  14. Then the salad must be left to infuse for at least 2 hours.

What can I add?

Gourmets can get a salad with a rather original taste if the recipe uses salted cheeses or a mixture of them with regular hard cheese.

You can place finely chopped pieces of red bell pepper on the sides of the hat; they will imitate a scattering of precious crystals.

Finished pork gives the salad an original taste.

Ingredients:

  • Smoked pork - 350 gr;
  • Beetroot - 1 pc.;
  • Eggs - 3 pcs.;
  • Potatoes - 4-5 pcs.;
  • Hard cheese - 100 g;
  • Carrots - 2 pcs.;
  • Garlic - 2 cloves;
  • Mayonnaise;
  • Pomegranate seeds and nuts.

Preparation:

Boil vegetables and eggs. Grate potatoes, cheese, beets, mix with mayonnaise.

Cut the smoked pork into cubes. Add Mayo.

Layers:

  1. 1st layer – part of the potato.
  2. Layer 2 – part of the smoked pork.
  3. 3rd layer - cheese.
  4. 4th layer – beets.

Cooking steps

Peel the potatoes and grate them on a fine grater. Place a third of the potatoes in a circle shape on a dish. Add a little salt and spread with mayonnaise.

Grate the beets, add 2 cloves of garlic, passed through a press and half the chopped nuts. Mix well.

Place the beets in a second layer on top of the potatoes. Grease with mayonnaise.

Next - a layer of half the grated cheese + mayonnaise.

Cut the chicken fillet into small pieces, place half of the meat in the next layer, brush with mayonnaise.


Chop the parsley and sprinkle half of the herbs on top of the chicken.

Peel the eggs and separate the yolks from the whites. Grate the yolks and place in the next layer (make each subsequent layer slightly smaller in diameter than the previous one). Grease with mayonnaise.

Grate the carrots, add 2 cloves of garlic, passed through a press and a little mayonnaise.

Stir and place the yolks on top. Next - a layer of the second half of the chicken and the remaining greens, grease with mayonnaise.

Cover the salad with half of the remaining grated potatoes and press down a little, forming a side at the bottom to create the appearance of a hat. Mix the rest of the potatoes with finely grated egg whites and the other half of the grated cheese. Place it around the salad in the form of an edge. Sprinkle the remaining chopped nuts on top, imitating fur.

Spread a little mayonnaise on the top layer of potatoes with a spoon. And decorate this wonderful salad “Monomakh's Hat” with chicken with pomegranate seeds, sea buckthorn berries, and olive slices. Boil jacket potatoes, carrots, beets, meat and eggs. If desired, the carrots can be left raw. To improve the taste, beets can be baked in the oven. If you are using frozen green peas, boil them in sweetened water on the stove or in the microwave. Allow the food to cool.

We peel potatoes, carrots, beets. Separate the yolks from the whites. Grind the boiled vegetables and cheese on a grater or in a food processor. Chop eggs, meat and herbs with a knife. Pass the garlic cloves through a garlic press. We crush the nuts in a meat grinder or hand mill. Place all ingredients in separate bowls.

Separate the pomegranate seeds. From egg whites and finely grated cheese we form the edge of the “Monomakh’s Cap”. Sprinkle the remaining walnuts on top, achieving an imitation of fluffy fur. We decorate the salad close to the original or in a free manner. The central elements of the pattern are pomegranate seeds, which are placed along the perimeter and in radial semicircles. The cap is crowned with a small crown carved from a red onion. Place it on top of the salad and fill it with pomegranate seeds.

All layered salads need time to soak in the dressing, so it's best to prepare them in the evening. At night, the dish should be put in the refrigerator, first covered with cling film.

Ingredients:

  • Korean carrots – 150 gr.;
  • Baked beets – 1 pc.;
  • Boiled eggs – 4 pcs.;
  • Boiled chicken fillet – 1 pc.;
