The main task of the cook is to select high-quality meat or seafood and beets. The latter should have a sweetish taste.
Advice! It is better to give preference to beets with a rich burgundy color; they have a more pleasant taste. You can use one medium-sized root vegetable or several small ones.
The taste of the salad also depends on the amount of garlic. For lovers of spicy dishes, you can take a little more spice than indicated in the recipes.
Mayonnaise, store-bought or home-made, or less high-calorie sour cream are suitable for dressing. More tasty and high-quality sauces are those that are made at home.
Classic recipe for Pink Flamingo salad with shrimp
Shrimp add a pleasant flavor to the Pink Flamingo salad. Vegetables and seafood are used as the main ingredients, so the calorie content of the dish is lower than most traditional holiday salads.
To prepare it you need:
- 2 kg shrimp;
- 2 fresh tomatoes;
- 2 potatoes;
- 3 eggs;
- 100 g hard cheese;
- 1 processed cheese;
- 2 garlic cloves;
- 50 ml ketchup;
- 50 ml cream;
- 100 g mayonnaise;
- 3 tbsp. l. lemon juice.
How to prepare Pink Flamingo salad:
- Boil seafood until done. Cool them, then divide them in half and sprinkle with lemon juice.
- Boil and then grate the potatoes and eggs. Do not mix the grated masses with each other.
- Cut the tomatoes, drain the juice and remove the seeds. Cut into small cubes.
- Grate hard cheese.
- Make shrimp sauce. To do this, chop the garlic cloves, grate the processed cheese, and pour in the cream.
- Place shrimp in a deep bowl and cover them with sauce for several hours.
- Take flat dishes for serving. Place 1/3 of the seafood on it, then the potato mixture, tomatoes, cheese, grated eggs.
- Form the top layer from the remaining shrimp. Drizzle with dressing.

Ingredients:
- 2 kg unpeeled shrimp,
- 2 potatoes,
- 2 medium tomatoes
- 100 g hard cheese,
- 3-4 eggs,
- 3-4 tbsp. lemon juice,
- 100 g mayonnaise,
- 50 g ketchup,
- 100 g of Viola cheese (the kind for spreading on sandwiches),
- 2 cloves of garlic,
- 50 ml cream (I used 22%).
How to cook:
A very tasty, easy salad recipe called “Pink Flamingo”. Based on the salad by chef Tutusi, for which many thanks to her. With my changes (to our taste).
- Boil the shrimp until tender with the addition of bay leaf, allspice and fish seasonings.
- Peel the shrimp and cut in half, sprinkle with lemon juice.
- Boil potatoes and eggs. Grate (in a separate bowl).
- Cut the tomato, remove seeds and liquid. Cut into small pieces.
- Grate the cheese.
- Prepare the sauce. Mix mayonnaise, ketchup, pressed garlic, Viola and cream. Place the prepared shrimp in this sauce and keep them in the sauce for at least 1 hour (I kept them overnight).
- Layer the shrimp salad in layers:
- Place 1/3 of the shrimp with the sauce in the first layer on a flat dish (try to place the shrimp without liquid in the bottom layer).
- Place grated potatoes on shrimp.
- The next layer is tomatoes.
- Next is a layer of cheese.
- The next layer is eggs, and on top we lay out the remaining shrimp along with the sauce (the sauce on top will saturate all the layers).
- Let the salad stand for several hours to soak.
- Tip: In this salad you need to use unpeeled shrimp. Do not replace them with ready-made peeled ones; such shrimp will taste much worse.

For appetizers for the festive table you need to prepare:
- 100 g crab sticks;
- 1 medium-sized beetroot;
- 100 g processed cheese;
- 2 eggs;
- 2 garlic cloves;
- a pinch of ground black pepper;
- salt;
- 2 tbsp. l. mayonnaise.
Step by step process:
- Boil the root vegetable without adding salt. Depending on the size of the beets, the cooking time ranges from 40 minutes to 2 hours. Cool in water, peel and grate on a large-mesh grater.
- Boil the eggs, cool, remove the shells and grate.
- Finely chop or grate the crab sticks.
- Keep the processed cheese in the refrigerator for about half an hour, so that it can then be easily chopped using a grater.
- Grind the garlic into a paste.
- Mix all prepared ingredients in a salad bowl, season with mayonnaise, pepper and salt.
Cool the Pink Flamingo salad slightly before serving.
Advice! To ensure that the color of the beets remains bright during cooking, add 1 tsp to the water. granulated sugar and a few drops of lemon juice.

- 1 kg shrimp;
- 1/3 head of iceberg lettuce;
- 5 eggs;
- 1 tsp. lemon juice;
- 100 g sour cream;

- a small bunch of fresh dill.
Algorithm:
