Recipe 1: lazy cabbage rolls in a slow cooker (step-by-step photos)

Lazy cabbage rolls in a slow cooker - this great recipe will help you feed your family a hearty lunch with minimal time. There is no need to boil and separate a head of cabbage into leaves; there is no need to wrap minced meat in cabbage leaves. This results in a great saving of time, and the taste of the dish does not suffer. Lazy cabbage rolls turn out just as tasty as regular ones.

  • Minced meat - 500 grams
  • Rice - 100 grams
  • Cabbage - 250 grams
  • Onion - 1 pc.
  • Carrots - 1 pc.
  • Laurel leaf - 2 pcs.
  • Marjoram seasoning - a pinch
  • Egg - 1 pc.
  • Tomato paste - 1 tbsp. l.
  • Salt - to taste
  • Black (ground) pepper - 1 pinch
  • Vegetable oil

We wash the rice and throw it into boiling water (a layer of water above the rice is about the thickness of a finger). Cook the rice until half cooked (then it will go in the slow cooker along with the cabbage rolls), remembering to stir while cooking. Then pour the rice into a bowl to cool.

We cut the onion with a knife, and the carrots can be grated.

First, fry the onion, and then, adding grated carrots to it, fry the carrots and onions together. Cook using the “Frying” or “Baking” mode.

Mix minced meat, rice, fried vegetables, salt and ground pepper. Since our minced meat will not be wrapped in a cabbage leaf, you can add a raw chicken egg to the minced meat. It will hold the minced meat together, and the balls formed from it will not fall apart during stewing.

We form round balls from the minced meat.

Finely chop the cabbage and fry it in vegetable oil. At the end, add grated carrots, fry the cabbage along with the carrots.

Pour a spoonful of vegetable oil into the multicooker bowl, add some of the fried cabbage and carrots, add salt and marjoram.

Place balls formed from minced meat and rice onto a vegetable bed.

Cover the minced meat with the rest of the fried cabbage and carrots.

We dilute tomato paste in water, after adding a pinch of salt. Pour the tomato sauce into the multicooker bowl.

Add pepper and bay leaf.

Close the multicooker lid and turn on the “Stew” mode for 40 minutes. If the cabbage is tough, the cooking time can be increased. If you cook in a pressure cooker, simmer for only 20 minutes. After the readiness signal, open the lid. In a pressure cooker, first wait for the steam to come out and only then open the lid.

Place the lazy cabbage rolls on plates and sprinkle with herbs. Try it, it's very tasty! Bon appetit!

Ingredients:

  • Pearl barley - 1 tbsp.
  • White cabbage - 400 gr.
  • Onions - 1-2 pcs.
  • Carrot - 1 pc.
  • Large egg - 1 pc.
  • Dried parsley - 10 gr.
  • Dried dill - 10 gr.
  • Allspice - to taste
  • Salt - to taste
  • Tomato paste - 3 tbsp.

Cooking process:

  1. Rinse the pearl barley in a colander under running water and boil until tender. It is better to soak pearl barley overnight so that it cooks faster. For 1 cup of pearl barley you need 2.5 cups of water.
  2. While the pearl barley is cooking, peel the onions and carrots. Finely chop the onion and grate the carrots on a medium grater or cut into very small pieces. Chop the cabbage finely and squeeze it a little with your hands so that it releases the juice and softens a little.
  3. Add vegetable oil to the multicooker bowl and turn on the “Warming” or “Frying” mode so that the oil warms up a little. After 3-4 minutes, place the onions and carrots in the multicooker and sauté in the “Frying vegetables” mode for 10 minutes, stirring regularly.
  4. When the timer goes off, place the shredded white cabbage in the bowl with the onions and carrots, stir and turn on the “Stew” mode for 30 minutes. Stir 2-3 times during the entire cooking time, and cook with the lid closed.
  5. By the time the program ends, the pearl barley should be just cooked. You need to let the pearl barley and vegetables cool to room temperature, and then you can cook further.
  6. The cooled pearl barley should be combined with stewed cabbage and onions and carrots. After this, you need to add salt, spices and dried herbs, beat in the egg and knead the minced meat thoroughly.
  7. When the minced barley is ready, you need to carefully form small oblong cutlets and place them in the multicooker bowl. Dilute tomato paste with a glass of water, add dry broth and dried herbs and pour cabbage rolls with sauce.
  8. Turn on the multicooker to the “Baking” mode for 40 minutes and cook with the lid closed. When the timer goes off, the dish is ready! Can be served with or without a side dish.

Recipe for lazy cabbage rolls in a Redmond slow cooker

A minimum of effort and a delicious dish on your table. Not only are cabbage rolls already “lazy,” but we will simplify our task even more. We will cook them in a slow cooker. Simply put, we will not wrap minced meat with rice in cabbage leaves. We'll just grind it up, then mix it all together. Then we will form the cutlets and simmer them. It's very tasty, see for yourself!

Ingredients:

  • half a kilo of any minced meat
  • 2 raw eggs
  • half a kilo of white cabbage
  • 150 grams of onions
  • 80 grams raw rice
  • salt, pepper to taste
  • 100 grams of carrots
  • 70 grams of sour cream
  • hot water
  • 70 grams of ketchup

Preparation:

1. Peel the carrots. Grate it on a medium grater.

2. We clean the cabbage from the upper windy leaves. Cut it into 4 parts, cut out a dense stalk. We won't need it. The cabbage itself is shredded thinly. You can use a knife or in a food processor.

3. Pour the rice into a bowl. Fill it completely with boiling water. We also pour boiling water over the cabbage in a separate bowl. Leave for 10 minutes. This will make the cabbage softer and the rice will swell a little. Finely chop the onion.

4. Drain the water from the cabbage. But don’t rush to pour it out, we will still need it. Place the cabbage in a bowl. We also transfer carrots, onions, and minced meat here. We wash the rice, drain the liquid, and add it here. Pour in the eggs. Salt and pepper to taste.

5. Stir everything until smooth. It is most convenient to do this by hand. In order for the mass to better hold its shape and become more elastic, you need to beat it a little. Just take it in your hand, then forcefully throw it back into the bowl. And so on several times. You will notice that the consistency becomes denser.

6. In 400 milliliters of cabbage broth, which we set aside earlier, mix sour cream and ketchup. You can use tomato paste or any other tomato sauce. Add salt, about half a teaspoon. Stir everything.

7. Pour about a tablespoon of vegetable oil into the dry bowl of the multicooker. Lubricate. Use your hands to form medium-sized cutlets from the meat mixture. Place the first batch in one layer. This is approximately 5-6 pieces. Drizzle with a small amount of sauce. We put a new batch on top.

8. Fill with sauce. If there is still minced meat left, you can add another layer. But not higher than the maximum mark on the multicooker bowl. Add the remaining sauce. Close the lid. Set the “Multi-cook” mode to 125 degrees or simply “Baking”. Time - 45 minutes. After pressing the start button, the mode will start.

Lazy cabbage rolls in the Redmond slow cooker

Lazy cabbage rolls are a dish slightly inferior in popularity to its older brother, but it tastes almost identical. At the same time, cabbage rolls require skill (especially when cutting up a head of cabbage), and even a novice housewife can cook lazy ones. Therefore, if you want to pamper your family, but are limited in time or are afraid of not being able to cope with cabbage leaves, lazy cabbage rolls in the Redmond multicooker are exactly what you need. Depending on the season and whether your cabbage is old or young, they will take from 40 to 60 minutes to cook.

Ingredients:

  • cabbage 300 g
  • minced meat 300 g
  • one medium carrot
  • 1 onion
  • rice 0.5 cups
  • one egg
  • salt,
  • spices,
  • garlic,
  • vegetable oil (a few tablespoons)

Cooking method:

  1. First of all, soak the rice, add salt and boil it a little (10 minutes, “riskoop” mode). The ratio of water and rice should be 1:1. There is no need to bring it to readiness, the main thing is that the water boils away.
  2. I grate the carrots to make long strips - it’s much prettier this way. The onion can be cut into small cubes.
  3. Finely chop the cabbage, it is best to do this using a special shredder. The thinner the cabbage, the more refined the taste. Remember the young one well so that the juice is released. In spring, old cabbage can be poured with boiling water for 5 minutes, this will speed up cooking much faster.
  4. Mix rice with minced meat, carrots, onions and add salt. Beat in one egg, mix thoroughly.
  5. Form small cutlets.
  6. Bread the cabbage rolls on both sides.
  7. Fry on the “fry” mode until golden brown, but do not simmer until cooked. Place everything in the slow cooker so that there is a distance of several fingers to the top.
  8. In a separate bowl, combine tomato paste and sour cream until smooth. Add a glass of cold water (if you use tomato juice, no more liquid is needed); if desired, you can add a clove of crushed garlic to the dressing. Salt, pepper and pour the sauce into the cabbage rolls so that they are completely covered and you can turn the multicooker on to the “stew” mode.
  9. Cooking time is from 30 to 40 minutes, depending on the degree of hardness of the cabbage. I close the valve, but I definitely need to check whether the dish is burning. If there is practically no gravy left, the time is up, and the cabbage seems a little tough to you, you can add water or leave it on the “warm” mode to simmer for another 30 minutes.
  10. Serve lazy cabbage rolls hot with sour cream or any sauce based on it.

Lazy cabbage rolls in the Ourson pressure cooker

Recipes for lazy cabbage rolls in a slow cooker and a pressure cooker are no different, but the results are different. I usually cook lazy cabbage rolls in the form of cutlets (minced meat and cabbage), surrounded by stewed vegetables. In principle, the cooking technology is simple, but there is one secret.

I’ll reveal the secret a little later, but now I’ll tell you how the results of preparing cabbage rolls in a slow cooker and a pressure cooker differ. I described in great detail my model of the Ourson 5002 pressure cooker; in the process of preparing meat dishes in it, I realized that due to this method of cooking, that is, under pressure, the dishes come out with a very rich taste.

I used the exact same recipe to cook lazy cabbage rolls in a slow cooker, and it was also delicious:

And the secret of juicy lazy cabbage rolls is that it is best to chop the white cabbage on them using a grater with small holes, which is then mixed into the minced meat. That is, do not chop finely with a knife, do not chop in a food processor, but rather grate, which will give the cabbage rolls juiciness. And such lazy cabbage rolls turn out, in my opinion, tastier than ordinary cabbage rolls.

Vegetables used include onions, carrots, and whatever else you want to use. These can be fresh vegetables in season or frozen. This could be cauliflower, bell peppers, tomatoes, and so on. What is not the basis for culinary creativity?

What you need for lazy cabbage rolls:

Half a kilogram of minced meat, preferably pork and beef 340 g white cabbage 130 g approximately boiled rice Salt One large carrot One large or two medium-sized onions 320 g cauliflower Salt

Vegetable oil for frying
