Oatmeal waffles in a waffle iron. Classic recipe

The classic waffle recipe involves using a large amount of fat and wheat flour.
But for a waffle iron, a few drops of vegetable oil are enough. You can also make waffles from oatmeal to increase the benefits. You can make it at home; to do this, take 500 grams of oatmeal and grind it using a food processor or coffee grinder. Oatmeal waffles are lower in calories, and at the same time, do not lose their taste. We bring to your attention a classic dietary waffle recipe with photos, where all the processes are described step by step. To prepare you will need:

  • 1 glass of kefir;
  • 1.5 cups oatmeal;
  • 50 grams of sugar;
  • 2 eggs;
  • 1 tbsp. l. sunflower oil;
  • salt to taste.
  1. Break the eggs into a bowl, add sugar and beat with a blender.
  2. Pour kefir into the mixture and mix thoroughly.
  3. Sift the flour, let it saturate with oxygen and add it to the dough. The consistency should be slightly thicker than sour cream.
  4. Add half a tablespoon of oil to the dough, use the rest to grease the surface of the waffle iron.
  5. Warm it up for 4-5 minutes and start baking.

You can serve the dish with fruit sauce or low-fat sour cream. It will fit perfectly into the diet of a person who cares about their health, and will also appeal to all family members. Oatmeal waffles in a waffle iron. Oat waffles in an electric waffle iron

Oatmeal waffles are a hearty, tasty and healthy breakfast. They differ from ordinary wheat ones in their structure (more dense and soft, not so airy). Goes great with honey or strawberry or peach jam. Served hot or warm

INGREDIENTS

  • rolled oats flakes, large (for example, Yasno Solnyshko No. 1) 74 g
  • premium wheat flour, sifted 51 g
  • white sugar 23 g
  • baking powder 0.5 tsp.
  • sea salt, fine 0.5 tsp.
  • soda 0.25 tsp
  • egg C 1 (or C0) 1 pc.
  • butter 30 g
  • kefir 1.5 or 2% 230 g

STEP-BY-STEP COOKING RECIPE

Step 1

Place all ingredients in bowls to quickly knead the dough (kneading speed affects quality). This recipe does not require a mixer, just a hand whisk.

Step 2

Place the butter in the microwave and melt (I usually do it for 30 seconds)

Step 3

Place a frying pan on medium heat (electric stove 3.5 out of 6) and heat (3-5 minutes). Add rolled oats and stirring constantly, fry until lightly nutty (small frying pan - 4 minutes, large - 3 minutes). Stir especially often at the end of frying, because... rolled oats can burn. Oatmeal prepared in this way will make the dough less sticky and give the waffles a special taste.

Step 4

Let the oats cool for 5 minutes and add to the food processor. Grind until flecked with whole grain flour. I usually keep the rolled oats in the chopper for 2.5 minutes

Step 5

Whisk together the flour, oatmeal, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt in a small bowl. Mix with a hand whisk (45 sec).

Step 6

In a separate mixing bowl, whisk together the egg and butter (30 sec).

Step 7

Add cold kefir to the egg-butter mixture. A couple of nuances. This recipe requires low-fat kefir, with a certain fluidity, but neither water nor water. Standard 3.5% is also not suitable, it is too thick. 1.5-2% kefir has the necessary properties

Step 8

Add dry ingredients to liquid ingredients in one addition, stir (20 sec). Leave the dough to rise for 5 minutes

Step 9

Turn on the electric waffle iron and let it warm up properly, 5 minutes will be enough

Step 10

When the dough is “ripe”, open the lid of the waffle iron and spray with oil spray (or brush with a thin layer of vegetable oil) the upper and lower “waffle” surfaces

Step 11

Spoon the batter into the waffle iron compartments according to your machine's instructions. Don’t put too much, otherwise it won’t bake or it will “float” a lot (excess dough will fall out of the waffle iron onto the table).

Step 12

Pay attention to par. At the beginning of baking, steam will rise in a column, but by the end of 2 minutes it will noticeably decrease. How long to fry depends on your machine. I usually keep it at 2 minutes 30 seconds if I'm baking all four waffles or 1 minute 30 seconds if I'm baking two.

Step 13

Remove the waffles in one piece, then divide into portions. Cut off the excess. Do not cover. Continue baking, spraying the surface of the waffle iron with vegetable oil each time. I don’t recommend storing the dough until the next morning, the waffles will turn out raw inside

Step 14

Here is a cross-sectional photo, so to speak.

Step 15

Oatmeal waffles are served hot, with honey or jam. Goes great with cereals, fresh fruits, and nuts. Bon appetit!

I preheated the waffle iron, greased the bottom and top with oil, and poured three tablespoons of batter. I lubricated it every other time.

Made 6 servings.

The waffles were divided into parts. Each one was spread with boiled condensed milk.

I connected the two pieces together with the smeared side.

Curd oat waffles. Waffles in an electric waffle iron with oat bran and cottage cheese

I have a big sweet tooth. If I can easily live without meat, then not a single day goes by without candy or a sweet bun. But I’m no longer 10 years old, when the abundance of fast carbohydrates does not negatively affect my figure, so I have to restrain myself and look for new tasty and more or less healthy “sweet” recipes. Sometimes Mr. Dukan comes to the rescue with his diet. In his baked goods, premium wheat flour is replaced with bran, and sugar with a sweetener. Let's use the tips and prepare waffles (with our own minor adjustments) with oat bran and cottage cheese. I didn’t have a sweetener, I used the usual sugar, I’m not on a diet, so a little bit is okay.

Ingredients

  • oat bran – 2 heaped tablespoons__NEWL__
  • cottage cheese (ideally low-fat) – 2 tablespoons__NEWL__
  • sugar – 2 tablespoons__NEWL__
  • corn starch – 1 tablespoon__NEWL__
  • sour cream – 1 tablespoon (this is my innovation)__NEWL__
  • eggs – 2 pcs.__NEWL__

Combine bran with starch.

If you don't want grains to get into the waffles, grind the bran into flour. I decided that if they are eaten dry, then there will be no harm if the product is left as is. Beat eggs into a large bowl, add sugar, mix.

Next, add cottage cheese, sour cream and bring the waffle base to a homogeneous state.

Lastly, add the mixture of starch and bran.

Don't be intimidated by the batter, that's how it's supposed to be.

Preheat the electric waffle iron, place 2 tablespoons of dough on the hot surface, close the lid and hold for about a minute and a half. Pour condensed milk and jam over them and eat. We don't follow a diet, so we won't break anything.
