We will make the pie dough using baking powder. It tastes a little different from yeast, but its properties are almost identical to it. In addition, the dough with baking powder cooks very quickly. We don't have to wait for it to rise.
Place 350-400 g of wheat flour in a cup.
Break one chicken egg into the flour.
Then add half a teaspoon of baking powder and half a teaspoon of salt. Mix.
Add two tablespoons of sunflower oil. Mix.
Now add water. Enough to knead a soft dough.
We divide our dough into two parts. Roll out the first part on a board and place it on a baking sheet lined with parchment or foil.
Place potatoes on top of the dough and then onions.
Open a can of stew. Most likely, only half a jar will be used for the pie. Therefore, we put the stew on a plate and cut large pieces into smaller ones. Put the stew into the pie.
Salt the filling.
Now take the second part of the dough and roll it out on a board, sprinkling it with flour so that the dough does not stick.
Cover our filling with dough. We pinch the edges. We make punctures in the top of the pie to allow hot air to escape.
Turn on the oven to 180-200 degrees and place our pie in it. Bake until done.

Place one of the dough sheets on a baking sheet, sprinkle it with grated cheese, and then place the contents of the pan on top. From another rolled out sheet of puff pastry, cut out a circle so that its area is large enough to cover the filling.
We pinch the edges of the bottom sheet with the top, round one to make it nice and neat, and then brush the surface with egg, which will give the cake an amber tint. Use a knife or skewer to make several holes in the top of the pie so that it does not burst during baking and place the dish on a baking sheet in the oven. After 15-20 minutes at 180 C, the pie is ready and can be served to the festive table.

Another quick version of the pie is prepared with meat stew. Choose the type of stew to your taste.

Recipe for “Yeast-free pie with stewed meat and potatoes”:
Add eggs (2 pieces) to a bowl, add sugar (1 tablespoon), salt (1 teaspoon).
Next add milk (200 ml milk). Beat the mixture into a light foam.
Add 100 gr. melted butter, add 4 tbsp. spoons of sour cream.
Mix flour (3.5 cups) with baking powder and add to the butter-milk mixture. Knead soft dough. I would like to draw your attention to the fact that you may need from 3.5 to 4 cups of flour. You need to look at the consistency of the dough. BUT! You should not add too much flour, so as not to fill the dough with flour. Then wrap the dough in cling film and refrigerate for about 30-40 minutes.
Boil potatoes (3 pcs.) in their skins until Al dente. Grate for Korean salads.
Mash homemade rabbit meat stew with a fork (The recipe used rabbit meat stew).
Roll out the cold dough into a layer. Grease the pan in which the cake will be baked with a thin layer of butter, sprinkle with flour, and make a “French shirt”. Transfer the rolled out layer of dough into the mold and make a small border. Lay out the potato strips and smooth them out.

Let's prepare a fish puff pastry with potatoes. It can be baked with pink salmon or other red or white fish. We will use boneless, skinless fillets.
Cut the onion into thin quarter rings, and the fish fillet into small cubes. Cut the potatoes into thin slices. Roll out the dough into a rectangular layer about half a centimeter thick. It is convenient to roll out the sheet on baking paper or on a silicone mat, then it will be convenient to transfer the dough along with the “backing” to a baking sheet.

Despite the variety of recipe options for jellied pies, the principle of preparing this dish is the same. A thin, flowing dough is prepared, which is poured onto the filling. However, the filling can also be placed in the center of the pie; in this case, part of the dough is poured into the baking dish, after which the filling is laid out and filled with the remaining batter.
The dough is prepared on the basis of eggs, as well as dairy products - kefir, sour cream or milk. Mayonnaise is sometimes used. To make the baked goods more tender, add oil - vegetable or butter. And to add fluffiness, the composition must include baking powder or soda.
The dough does not need to be kneaded by hand for a long time or left to rise for a long time. You just need to mix all the ingredients well to make the mass homogeneous. If you have a mixer on hand, it will take no more than five minutes to prepare the dough. But even by hand, mixing the ingredients with a whisk, the dough can be made very quickly.
Potatoes can be used for the filling either already cooked or raw. If you decide to use raw root vegetables, then they need to be cut into thin circles or small strips. In addition, it is recommended to pour boiling water over already chopped potatoes and cook for two minutes. This treatment will allow the potatoes to cook faster.
Potato filling is often supplemented with other products. These can be vegetables, prepared meat or fish products.
It is advisable to bake pies in a one-piece pan with high sides. Baking time depends on the height of the cake. Readiness is checked as follows: pierce the cake with a toothpick; if there are traces of dough on the removed stick, then you need to continue baking. If the surface is dry, the oven can be turned off.
Interesting facts: Pies began to be baked in Rus' since time immemorial, but potato pie is a relatively young dish. After all, potatoes began to be grown en masse only in the 18th century.
With the addition of canned fish
If you need to make a quick fish pie, it is better to make the filling from boiled potatoes with canned fish. You can cook baked goods with saury, tuna and any other canned fish. It is better to use canned food in its own juice or with the addition of oil.
Peel the boiled potatoes in their skins and cut them into circles or slices, add salt and pepper. Remove the canned fish from the jar (without liquid) and knead. Finely chop the parsley.
Separate two thirds from the dough layer, roll it into a layer and place it on a baking sheet with sides. Lubricate the surface of the dough with mayonnaise. Lay out potato mugs in even rows and sprinkle with herbs. Next, add the chopped fish. Cut a little bit of the remaining piece of dough (it will be needed for decoration).

Fry thin onion half rings, add shredded cabbage and cook until the vegetables are soft. Boil the potatoes.
Roll out the dough into one large layer, place grated boiled potatoes in the center, and cabbage and onions on top of it. We place the edges of the dough over the filling with an envelope and pinch tightly. Place the product on a baking sheet, seam side down. We make several cuts in the upper part, placing them in a checkerboard pattern. Cook in the oven for about twenty minutes at 200 degrees.
