Description of preparation:

I have been looking for a recipe for a baguette with cheese and garlic for a long time, from the moment I first tried this delicacy.
And since the baguette I ate was prepared in a deli in one of the local stores, I decided that they had a lot of their own secret ingredients there. Everything turned out to be much simpler - we need a regular French baguette (already prepared), cheese, garlic and herbs, and, of course, 20 minutes of time. And the result, mmmm... Simply delicious - the aroma is so magical that sometimes it was quite difficult to restrain yourself from eating it all. But you’d better try this simple baguette recipe with cheese and garlic yourself, then you’ll understand everything. Purpose: For breakfast / Afternoon snack / Inexpensive Main ingredient: Dough Dish: Baking / Baguette

Ingredients:

For 2 long baguettes (along the baking sheet) or 4 small cheese sticks (across the baking sheet):

  • 12-15 g fresh yeast;
  • ¼ - 0.5 teaspoon of sugar (can be measured with a pinch);
  • Half a glass of warm milk;
  • 1.5 cups flour;
  • 100-120 g sausage (or hard) cheese;
  • 1 level teaspoon of salt;
  • 1 tablespoon butter;
  • A few green onions;
  • For sprinkling, in addition to cheese, you can use sesame and cumin.

How to cook “Baguette with cheese and garlic”

We prepare all the necessary ingredients so that we always have them at hand. You can change the quantity and proportions at your discretion, but just don’t overdo it with the cheese, it may spread.

So, the first thing we need to do is grate the cheese. You can use a coarse or medium grater, it doesn’t play a special role.

Then chop the herbs and garlic.

Now mix everything and add a piece of butter. You could say that this is the secret ingredient.

Mix our filling thoroughly again and move on.

We make deep cuts in the baguette, but so as not to cut through it.

We put our filling into the slits without sparing.

And wrap the baguette in foil.

Place in an oven preheated to 200 degrees and cook for 20 minutes. After the time has passed, open the foil and bake for another 5 minutes until golden brown.

Now our baguette is ready and we can start tasting. You can eat it with any soup, but, believe me, it’s much tastier to eat it just like a separate dish.

Homemade baguettes

You can bake your own garlic baguette. It’s not that difficult, but it will give you the opportunity to enjoy freshly baked bread. Many housewives claim that homemade products taste better than store-bought ones. They can be made from wheat or rye flour, or a mixture of both.

With greens

To prepare the dough you will need the following ingredients:

  • 11 g yeast;
  • 220 ml kefir;
  • 1 egg;
  • 3 cups flour;
  • 5 tbsp. spoons of vegetable oil;
  • a pinch of sugar;
  • salt to taste.

For filling:

  • 1 tbsp. a spoonful of chopped herbs;
  • 2 tbsp. spoons of vegetable oil;
  • 100 g cheese;
  • 5 cloves of garlic.

How to do:

  1. Heat kefir until slightly warm. Pour in the yeast and stir.
  2. In a separate bowl, beat the egg with sugar and salt using a whisk.
  3. Combine the egg mixture with the kefir-yeast mixture and mix thoroughly. Gradually adding flour, knead the dough. While kneading it, pour in vegetable oil. The dough should not be too hard. Leave it to rest for 1 hour.
  4. Prepare the filling. Pass the garlic through a press, pour in the vegetable oil, add a spoonful of chopped herbs, salt and mix.
  5. Form baguettes and leave them on the baking sheet to rise for 10 minutes.
  6. Press the baguettes lengthwise in the middle, add the filling, sprinkle grated cheese on top. Brush the sides of the baguettes with yolk diluted with a small amount of water.
  7. Place in a hot oven and bake until golden brown. Cooking temperature – 200-220 degrees.

French baguette with herbs and garlic

The suggested amount of ingredients makes two baguettes.

What you will need to take for the test:

  • 550 g flour;
  • 14 g dry yeast;
  • 175 ml milk;
  • 140 ml water;
  • 1 tbsp. spoon of sugar;
  • 2/3 tbsp. spoons of salt.

For filling:

  • 100 g butter;
  • 100 g cheese;
  • 6 cloves of garlic;
  • 1/3 teaspoon salt;
  • 20 g fresh basil.

You will need a beaten egg to brush the baguettes, but this is not necessary.

How to cook:

  1. Heat the milk slightly, pour yeast and granulated sugar into it, stir, let stand for ten minutes.
  2. Then add salt to the yeast, pour in slightly heated water, and add flour, which must first be sifted.
  3. Knead the dough, first with a spatula, then with your hands. Knead for about 8 minutes. The dough should stop sticking to your hands and become elastic. Leave to rise for 1 hour under a towel. As a result, it should increase in volume several times.
  4. Cut the butter into cubes, place in a suitable container and melt in the microwave or on the stove.
  5. Wash the basil leaves and peel the garlic. Pour melted butter into a blender bowl, add garlic, herbs, and salt. Blend until pureed at full power. This will take approximately 20 seconds.
  6. Grate the cheese on the finest grater.
  7. Remove the dough from the bowl, knead it with your hands, and divide it into two halves with a knife.
  8. Roll out the dough into 2 rectangles 40 cm long and 25 cm wide.
  9. Brush the surface of the dough with the oil, basil and garlic mixture using a pastry brush. Then sprinkle with grated cheese.
  10. Roll up the rolls and place on parchment paper sprinkled with a thin layer of flour. Cut the rolls lengthwise, without cutting 4 cm to one end. Wrap the halves of the roll in a spiral around each other so that the cut with the filling visible is on top. Pinch the ends and tuck them under the baguette.
  11. Place baguettes on baking sheets along with parchment, brush with egg if desired. Bake for 20 minutes in a preheated oven. Cooking temperature – 220 degrees. The baguette should have a golden crust.

Mini baguettes with garlic butter

What you will need:

  • 125 ml milk;
  • 10 g dry yeast;
  • 350 g flour;
  • 1 teaspoon salt;
  • 1 tbsp. spoon of granulated sugar;
  • 1 egg;
  • 2 cloves of garlic;
  • 50 g butter.

How to make baguettes with garlic butter:

  1. Heat the milk slightly (it should not be hot), add yeast, granulated sugar, salt and mix. Add flour and knead the dough. Leave to rise under a towel for 1 hour.
  2. When the dough has increased in size, punch it down on a cutting board and divide it into six equal pieces with a knife.
  3. Roll out each portion of dough quite thinly into round cakes. Roll up the rolls.
  4. Grease a baking tray with oil, place the pieces on it and leave for half an hour.
  5. Then make cuts on each baguette, brush with egg and place in a preheated oven. Bake for 10 minutes at 200 degrees.
  6. Leave the butter at room temperature until it softens. Chop the garlic and mix it with oil. Place the prepared mixture into the slits of the baguettes, return to the oven and cook for about 15 minutes.


Garlic mini baguettes can be used as portioned bread

Filled with cheese, garlic, herbs and mayonnaise

What you need to take for the test:

  • 500 g flour;
  • 2 teaspoons of dry yeast;
  • 300 ml water;
  • 1 teaspoon salt;
  • 1 tbsp. spoon of sugar;
  • 2 tbsp. spoons of vegetable oil.

For filling:

  • a bunch of greens (dill, parsley);
  • 3 cloves of garlic;
  • 100 g cheese;
  • mayonnaise.

How to cook:

  1. Heat the water slightly, pour yeast, salt, sugar, vegetable oil into it and mix. Add flour and knead the dough - the finished dough does not stick to your hands. Leave it for 1 hour under the film. The dough should double in size. It should be elastic and slightly sticky.
  2. Form the dough into 2 baguettes and let them rest.
  3. During this time, prepare the filling. Chop the garlic and herbs, mix, coat with mayonnaise and stir.
  4. Make cuts in the baguettes along the entire length, place in a preheated oven and bake for 10 minutes at 200 degrees. Remove from the oven, place the filling in the middle, sprinkle with grated cheese on top and continue baking until done.

Baguette with ham and cheese, Parisian style

The Parisian-style ham and cheese baguette is completely out of the ordinary. Adding a few affordable ingredients will transform an ordinary sandwich into something amazingly delicious. Use a freshly baked baguette to fully enjoy the taste.

Use:

  • 1 baguette per 300 g;
  • 4 slices Gruyère cheese;
  • 115 g delicacy smoked ham;
  • 2 tbsp. l. Dijon mustard;
  • 1 tbsp. l. mayonnaise;
  • A handful of torn salad greens.

Preparation:

  1. Mix Dijon mustard and mayonnaise in a bowl.
  2. Cut the baguette in half horizontally, making sure not to cut all the way through.
  3. Spread the mustard-mayonnaise dressing on the bottom of the baguette and the top of the soft parts.
  4. Thinly slice ingredients if not already sliced.
  5. Place herbs on the bottom of the bun.
  6. Top with slices of ham.
  7. Place pieces of cheese on top of the ham.
  8. Cover the top tightly and enjoy.
