Quick breakfast options for children

Porridge

It is very good if it is different every day. Buckwheat, oatmeal, corn, barley porridge contain many valuable vitamins and minerals. But the well-known semolina has less nutritional value - it contains too little plant fiber.

For children, it is better to cook porridge with milk. According to WHO recommendations, children should receive at least two servings of dairy products per day (for example, 250 ml of milk and 30 grams of cheese with a fat content of no more than 20%). In addition, when combined with milk, all elements and vitamins from grains are better absorbed. Plus, milk enriches the porridge with complete animal protein. You can add a piece of butter, as well as berries, fruits, and a little honey to the finished dish.

Sandwich with butter and cheese

Butter is the only animal fat that is included in all dietary tables without exception. And all thanks to its property of enriching food with fat-soluble, easily digestible vitamins A, E, D. In addition, butter contains healthy fatty acids and complete protein.

Therefore, 1-2 times a week you can feed your child whole grain bread with butter and cheese. Here are the benefits of cereals, fats, and proteins.

Cheesecakes, dumplings, cottage cheese with berries

Porridge can be alternated with cottage cheese breakfasts. For example, casserole, cheesecakes, lazy dumplings. You can also make a cottage cheese smoothie - beat cottage cheese 5.5% with fruits or berries. Very filling and tasty.

Scrambled eggs, omelet

An egg breakfast can be offered to your child 2-3 times a week. It is useful to cook an omelet with vegetables and herbs, even with light meat - turkey, chicken. You can also make a sandwich with a boiled egg - spread butter on whole grain bread and place two halves of an egg. You can do it while it’s hot – the butter will melt a little.

What is included in the diet of a one-year-old child?

At what age can you give your child cheese?

Preparing breakfast for a child is a difficult task. Doctors say that by the age of one year the following products should be introduced into the baby’s diet:

  • porridge (especially buckwheat, it does not contain gluten and does not cause allergic reactions);
  • fruits and vegetables;
  • fish and meat;
  • dairy and fermented milk products.

It is necessary to get acquainted with new dishes by gradually increasing the portion. Even if the baby really liked the food, he should not eat the entire plate. For the first time, two or three teaspoons are enough.

Porridge

The healthiest porridges are oatmeal and buckwheat. Rice contains a lot of starch, so it is better to cook it less often. Millet and pearl barley porridges are difficult to digest, so they are suitable for feeding children aged three years and older.

Vegetables

It happens that the baby is capricious and does not want to eat traditional porridge. If parents don’t know what to cook for a one-year-old child for breakfast, you can simply make a salad of fresh cucumbers and tomatoes, cut into small pieces. Also, not a single child will refuse carrots, grated on a fine grater, or industrially produced vegetable (fruit) puree.

Fruits

Babies up to one year old, if they already have teeth, can be given any fruit, except for allergens - citrus fruits. Introducing strawberries should also be delayed until three years. The same goes for raspberries. Apples and pears, bananas, gooseberries and currants never cause allergies.

The healthiest fruits are seasonal fruits grown in the baby’s homeland.

Meat

All children willingly eat steamed cutlets and meatballs. Doctors recommend using rabbit and chicken for baby food. Red meat (pork, beef) is difficult to digest and can cause constipation.

Fish

  • If you cook fish soup for your child, be sure to strain the broth so that there are no bones in it. Cod, hake and pollock are recommended for baby food. Babies under one year old should not eat river fish, because it is often infected with parasites. Eggs

For breakfast, you can give your child a hard-boiled egg or an omelet. Be sure to wash eggs before cooking because there may be bacteria on the shell. Duck and goose eggs should not be included in children's diets; they are often contaminated with infections.

Attention! You should not give your children eggs every day. This product often provokes allergies and puts a lot of stress on the liver. You can cook an omelet or boil eggs for a child no more than 2-3 times a week.

Dairy products

Starting from eight months, the baby can be given baby kefir, yogurt and fermented baked milk. These products improve digestion and stimulate intestinal function. Whole milk, on the other hand, often causes stomach upset. Usually fermented milk products are given in the evening or at night, as a light addition to dinner.

Fermented milk products have a beneficial effect on digestion
