  • 500 gr. chicken wings;
  • 1.5 tablespoons of tomato paste;
  • 1 clove of garlic;

  • 4 tablespoons of soy sauce;
  • 1 teaspoon honey;

  • Coca-Cola - 0.5 l.;
  • vegetable oil - 2 tbsp;
  • sugar - 2 tbsp;
  • salt - 1 tsp;
  • red hot pepper - to taste;

How to prepare chicken wings according to a Chinese recipe

  1. We prepare the wings in the standard way: rinse the meat with water, divide it into three parts, moving the knife along the joints. We put the last piece aside - you won’t need it for a snack. Dry the meat thoroughly with paper towels.
  2. Pour oil into a frying pan with a thick bottom and high sides. Heat well, and then add granulated sugar.

  3. Stir the contents of the pan until the sugar darkens.

  4. Place the prepared pieces of wings on the darkened sand. Despite the fact that the meat is well dried, splashes still cannot be avoided, there will simply be an order of magnitude less of them.

  5. A fried crust quickly forms on the chicken wings, this will happen in just a minute. Therefore, we don’t go anywhere, but often turn the pieces over in the pan.

  6. When the crust evenly covers all sides of the meat pieces, carefully pour in the cola. The contents of the pan are too hot, so be careful not to burn yourself! Adjust the heat so that the liquid boils actively, but does not splash out onto the stove. Salt the chicken pieces, add hot pepper and soy sauce. Stir and leave the wings to cook.

  7. The boiling process will take approximately 30 minutes. The end is easy to notice - a lot of foam will appear in the pan.

Advice! There is no need to throw away the cut pieces of wings; they can be added when cooking the chicken broth.

Preparing the breading. To do this, pour starch into a bowl, add salt, sweet paprika and ground red pepper. Mix well. Dip chicken wings in the prepared mixture.

Chicken wings cooked in a slow cooker

  5. Place the wings in hot oil and fry over high heat for 10 minutes, turning a couple of times during frying.
  6. While the wings are frying, prepare the honey filling. Pour honey into a bowl, add the zest of one orange and the juice squeezed from this orange.
  7. Advice. We grate the zest on a fine grater, without touching the white layer - otherwise it will taste bitter. Instead of orange, you can use lemon zest and juice squeezed from half a lemon.
  8. Pour red table wine into the honey (according to the recipe), add a small pinch of salt and mix thoroughly.
  9. Advice. Wine can be replaced with any other alcohol or plain water.
  10. Reduce heat to medium, pour honey sauce over the wings and cover the pan with a lid. Continue simmering for another 20 minutes.
  11. Transfer the fried wings to a plate, pour sauce from the frying pan, sprinkle with herbs (I had green onions).
  12. Wings go great with garlic sauce. It can be prepared very quickly at home. Mix equal amounts of sour cream and mayonnaise in equal quantities (I have 150 milliliters), add 3 cloves of garlic passed through a press. Add finely chopped herbs (I used a mix of parsley and dill), salt to taste.
  13. Mix everything thoroughly, transfer to a gravy boat, and serve with wings.
