And again the recipe from Tatyana from Myshkin:
“Due to numerous requests, I’m finally writing
a recipe for fluffy pancakes ! I had to specially prepare the pancakes “with feeling, with sense, with arrangement” in order to calculate the amount of flour, because I knead the dough by eye all the time. So, we need : 1 egg, two large pinches of salt, 1 table. spoon sugar sand, a box (470 gr.) of snowballs or curdled milk/kefir (then sweeten with 3 tablespoons of sand), 1 teaspoon of soda, 1-2 tablespoons of sour cream, 3 cups of flour (I don’t sift) Cooking : Lightly whisk the egg and salt , add sand, mix with a whisk.
Then I pour in the snowball so that about a spoonful remains in the box, and stir again with a whisk. In the remains of the snowball (right in the box), I extinguish the soda and quickly pour it into the dough. I add sour cream, mix with a whisk and immediately pour in all three glasses of flour - I mix with a spoon (and not with a mixer, this is important! Otherwise, the air bubbles in the dough will be small, which affects the fluffiness and thickness of the dough) I determine the desired consistency of the dough as follows: scoop out a small amount with a spoon and I dump it back - it should plop down and remain on the surface in a lump. Next, as usual: I bake in a frying pan heated with vegetable oil (preferably with a ceramic coating).” I can’t wait to try it! It turns out that baking delicious fluffy pancakes is an art. Later I will write how my own experiment ended. Share your experience, dear readers!

A fermented milk drink called “Snowball” is widely popular. Many people like to use it as a base for pancake batter. It makes the pancakes noticeably more fluffy, tender and soft.
Very often, housewives use “Snowball” pancakes, which have already been standing in the refrigerator for some time. Professionals advise using only fresh products and avoiding expired ones.
When preparing the dough, keep in mind that the Snezhok drink has a sweet taste, so you can add a little more salt to the dough than usual. These pancakes are easy to make for breakfast. You can cook cocoa with them - this combination will invigorate you until lunch.

- Flour – 250 g;
- Water – 2 large spoons;
- Egg (chicken) – 1 pc.;

Olya, thank you for the recipes! Should I put the jam directly into the dough or is it for soaking later? Approximately how much flour?

sour cream cake! Prague. Especially if it is very expired or sour, the cake is simply delicious. 2 large eggs, half a glass of sugar, beat, add half a can of condensed milk, beat again into sour cream - a level teaspoon of soda, stir well so that the sour cream begins to swell; one and a half cups of flour, stir well, divide into two parts. Pour the first one into the mold and bake. Add cocoa to the second one, bake in the second form
I usually add butter to the cream with the remaining half a can of condensed milk.

Every housewife loves to surprise her household with new dishes. And if simple pancakes are already boring, you can offer them pancakes with apples. They can be grated or cut into medium-sized slices and then added to the dough.
It is important to note that the apples will release juice, so you may need additional flour - the dough should not be liquid.

- Add flour and soda. Stir until the lumps are gone.

Fluffy pancakes on Snezhka without eggs
Some people don't eat eggs for many reasons. They can cause allergies or are poorly tolerated by the body. But you shouldn’t deny yourself delicious pastries because of this.
It’s easy to prepare the base for the dough without using eggs - you need to use a xylo-milk drink called “Snowball” as a base.
Pancakes based on it are deliciously tender. It's amazing that they keep their shape even the next day. But usually they are sold out at one time - they are so delicious.
How to cook pancakes:
- Remove the “snowball” from the refrigerator in advance - it should not be cold.
- Add sugar, salt and mix thoroughly until the crystals dissolve.
- Add flour and soda to the mixture. The dough is mixed, but not beaten.
- You can fry pancakes in sunflower or butter - the choice depends on the preferences of the cook.
- The pancakes should be fried evenly on different sides.
Pancakes are softer if you use butter for frying. But it is important not to overdo it, as pancakes that are too fatty can have a bad effect on your stomach. Traditionally, pancakes are eaten with sour cream, condensed milk or jam.

You should read this before using your microwave oven for baking.
A modern kitchen feels incomplete without a microwave oven. People use the microwave for baking and cooking, and the microwave has made both of them much easier. Traditional cooking methods take a long time, and time is something that people don't have right now. And that's why everyone needs a microwave oven for baking and cooking in the kitchen.
Moreover, for bachelors and people living away from their family, a microwave oven proves to be a boon. The improved versions of microwave ovens come with an automatic cooking menu and can solve the big problem of learning cooking. Many baking families choose to use a microwave oven for baking instead of purchasing an OTG.
But just like any other gadget, you need to understand the basics of a microwave oven before actually sorting out the best microwave oven for yourself.
Microwave oven for baking
I often get this question from people who visit my bread baking workshop.
The simple answer is yes. Yes, you can use the microwave for baking. However, there are many limitations that we should know when it comes to using a microwave oven for baking. We'll talk about this a little later in this article.
What is a microwave oven?
In technical terms, a microwave oven is an electromagnetic wavelength and a microwave oven is an appliance that operates using a microwave wave (electromagnetic wavelength). However, in common parlance, a microwave oven is simply used as a short form of a microwave oven. Unlike a conventional oven, a microwave oven uses an electromagnetic wavelength to vibrate the water cells in the food and thus heat the food.
What is a regular oven?
Traditional ovens are electric ovens that use a heating coil on either the bottom or the top and bottom on both sides (depending on size) to heat food. Traditional ovens are mainly used for baking. Learn more about conventional baking ovens to gain a deeper understanding. And if you are interested in buying a baking oven, you can check out our list of the top ten best baking ovens.
Microwave oven working
Microwave ovens
have a round glass tray in the chamber that rotates during operation. Microwave radiation hits the tray or something held on the tray and cooking or baking occurs. The tray rotates in the chamber to ensure food is cooked from all sides.
Microwave preheating
Preheat is a function that we mainly use for microwave baking. When baking, you need a constant temperature throughout the baking. So, instead of starting baking at a cold oven temperature, which can ruin the baked goods, we preheat the oven temperature to the required temperature.
It is similar to heating the tawa before preparing the chapatis.
The newest microwave ovens come with an automatic preheat option. All you have to do is select the temperature specified in the recipe and start preheating.
However, if your oven does not have this feature, simply select the temperature specified in the recipe and turn on the microwave for about 2 minutes and you will be able to use it for baking.
Different Types of Microwave Ovens
There are three types of microwave ovens in the market viz. Solo microwaves, grill microwaves and convection microwaves. Let's learn about each of them one by one.
There are different sizes of microwave ovens available in the market starting from 17L to 32L but recently we have seen 42 solo microwave from LG. Check Best Microwave Oven to Buy in India 2021 and Find your Best Microwave Oven.
- Solo microwave ovens
- Solo Microwave Can Reheat : So you have some cooked food that has been in the refrigerator or has just cooled down and you would like to reheat it. This is what you use solo microwaves for.
- Defrosting : When a product is stored in the freezer for a long time, it accumulates ice around the product. Defrosting allows the product to be free of accumulated ice. This can be done using the refrigerator defrosting method, or defrosting under running water, or defrosting using room temperature, or defrosting using a microwave oven. Defrosting in the microwave tends to be the fastest. Some microwave ovens do this using the weight method and some do this using the time method.
- Cooking : If you don't like baking and grilling, then solo microwave ovens are the best microwave oven for you. I used solo microwave during my bachelor life and made Maggi, cooked my salads especially broccoli and corn and many more.
- Grill microwaves do everything a solo microwave does, but also adds grilling functionality. A microwave grill has a tube that heats up to cook food.
- A convection microwave oven has built-in fans that circulate air inside the oven. This air movement makes the temperature in the oven even. That's why a convection microwave oven can be used for grilling, frying, cooking, defrosting and reheating. Don't forget that you can use a convection microwave oven for baking.
Microwave vs OTG?
First you need to define your goal. If you know what you will be using the appliance for, the decision becomes easy. Generally speaking, if you don't like to bake, purchasing an OTG should be ruled out. However, if baking fascinates you, nothing can beat a regular oven. Budget traditional stove, i.e. OTG, will be cheaper than microwave for baking.
Another thing you'll want to keep in mind is ease of use. If you want to enjoy the multi-functional features of a microwave oven such as reheat and auto-cook menu, then of course a conventional oven will not do. I hope I've given you some food for thought. Think about it and think about what suits you best. Also remember to take into account the size, which is directly proportional to the number of family members.
What are the best brands of microwave ovens?
There are many players in making microwave ovens and all seem to be doing quite well. However, IFB has dominated the market, followed by Morphy Richards, LG, Samsung, Godrej, Bajaj, Whirlpool and Panasonic.
Is microwave oven safe for health?
So there's been a lot of talk about this and some say it's harmful and some say it's not. We all may have seen videos circulating on various social media platforms where water heated in a microwave oven ruins seedlings.
All said and done, the science is that a microwave oven is only a wavelength of electromagnetic radiation that is shorter than radio waves and longer than infrared radiation. Neither infrared nor radio are intended to harm humanity, and I believe that nothing in between is either bad for us.
Microwave oven uses a microwave oven to vibrate water molecules in food. The vibration produces heat and thus cooks the food. In my opinion, microwaves, when used as recommended, are completely safe. You should avoid using low quality plastic for cooking as the fumes from low quality plastic make food harmful. Using glass and ceramics are absolutely safe options.
Advantages of a microwave oven
A microwave oven is a very efficient kitchen appliance for saving energy. A microwave oven uses approximately 75% less energy to perform the same task compared to a conventional oven. The Advance microwave oven comes with humidity sensors that automatically adjust cooking times, thereby saving energy.
Multi-stage cooking, automatic menu, defrost and child lock are other great features that a regular oven lacks.
Conventional stoves have advantages in price, weight and portability.
Disadvantages of Microwave Oven for Baking
First of all, you can only use microwave convection for baking. The solo microwave oven and microwave grill cannot be used for baking.
The rotation of the glass tray inside the chamber limits the size of the pan or tray that can be used inside the microwave.
Another disadvantage of microwave baking is the limitation of single-level baking. Unlike OTG where you can bake on multiple levels, with a microwave you can only bake on a base.
Which microwave oven to buy?
This is a serious question that I ask in my emails and blog comments. And the whole purpose of writing this article was to help you make an informed decision. Take a look at this Best Microwave Oven post to buy and make your choice.

Yeast pancakes
Yogurt pancakes turn out very fluffy and incredibly tasty if you make them with yeast. To prepare them you need the following:
- 0.5 liters of drinking yoghurt;
- 0.5 cups of water (warm);
- 1 tbsp. l. Sahara;
- 2 tsp. dry yeast;
- 1 tsp. soda;
- salt - no more than a pinch;
- flour - by eye, according to your own feelings;
- vegetable oil needed for frying.
Pour warm water into a bowl, add sugar and stir it. Afterwards, dilute the yeast there and set aside for a while until it is suitable. Pour room temperature yogurt into a deep bowl, add baking soda, and add a little salt. Then add the appropriate yeast mixture and mix the entire contents of the bowl. After this, slowly add flour (sifted) in the required amount and knead a thick dough, placing it in a warm place for 30 minutes. And when the mass doubles in size, you can start baking pancakes. Fry them in a well-heated frying pan, which needs to be greased with a small amount of oil.
Advice. To get rid of excess fat, you can place the pancakes immediately after frying on a paper towel.
You can serve with jam, honey or sour cream. This is a great addition to your morning tea or coffee.
Pancakes at Snezhka
What’s good about pancakes is that they can be prepared using any fermented milk product. “Snowball” is also perfect for these purposes, even if the drink has been a little stale in the refrigerator. And since it has a sweeter taste than kefir, you will need less sugar to knead the dough.
To prepare morning pastries, the housewife will need: 250 ml of fermented milk drink “Snowball”, 2 tbsp. l. water, 250 g flour, 1 egg, 1 tbsp. l. sugar, salt and baking soda 0.5 tsp each, vegetable (sunflower or other) oil necessary for baking pancakes.
How to cook pancakes:
- Pour “Snowball” into a deep bowl and break the egg into it.
- Add water to the contents, add sugar and salt, mix again.
- Combine soda with flour. Add this mixture to the bowl with the other ingredients and knead the dough.
- Heat a frying pan, add a little oil and heat it on the fire.
- Spoon the mixture, baking on each side until done.
Pancakes made with yoghurt or Snezhka are a great option for breakfast or afternoon snack. Both children and the older generation will be delighted with such fresh baked goods. To bake fluffy pancakes, you don’t need to spend a lot of time; everything is done quite quickly. You can choose one recipe for their preparation or use different ones, each time surprising your household with new variations of an already familiar dish.
Have you tried making pancakes on Snezhka?
What to cook from expired snowball?
If the “snowball” drink has expired, what can you prepare with it?
How can you use an expired snowball?
Expired (sour) snowballs can be used in baking; this does not affect its taste in any way.
But we are talking about a snowball that expired quite recently, 2 - 4 days ago.
I wouldn’t add snowballs that were a week or more overdue.
Recipe 1
You can bake a pie with cottage cheese and bananas.
This pie does not require a large number of ingredients (no butter or margarine is used at all), it cooks very quickly and is at the same time very satisfying.
200 grams of cottage cheese (one pack).
1.5 cups snowball.
bananas: 1 large banana or 2 small bananas.
1 cup of flour with a small slide.
0.5 cups sugar.
baking powder / soda, slaked with citric acid.
1) Pour the snowball into a bowl, add egg and sugar. Mix everything.
2) Then you need to sift the flour through a sieve and mix everything thoroughly. The dough will be soft (like for pancakes).
3) Add baking powder or slaked soda, mix again.
4) Cut the fruit bananas into circles (the circles can be cut into 2 more parts) and add them evenly to the dough.
5) Finally, add the pre-shredded cottage cheese, mix and pour everything into the mold.
The pie should be baked at 180 degrees (it is better to preheat the oven), cooking time is about 25-30 minutes.
Recipe 2
You can make the simplest cookies using snowballs.
200 grams of butter or margarine (this is one pack).
0.5 cups of snow.
1 cup of sugar.
baking powder / soda, slaked with citric acid.
1) Mix the ingredients in the following order: eggs and sugar (they need to be ground together), snowball, softened butter / margarine, sifted flour, baking powder / slaked soda. Mix everything thoroughly each time, the dough should end up elastic and smooth.
2) Place the dough in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
3) Take out the dough and roll it out (about the thickness of a finger), then sprinkle with sugar. The place where you will roll it out can be sprinkled with a little flour.
4) We cut out various figures using special shapes or some improvised objects.
Bake cookies at 180 degrees, cooking time - 20 minutes.
The fermented milk product “Snowball” can be used for baking.
For example, add to baked goods.
Expired Snowball is also suitable for pancakes and pancakes.
In general, we add expired food where heat treatment is required - gravy for hedgehogs and cutlets, custard sauce for meat.
We buy a snowball for our son every night. Sometimes there is an open pack left. And sometimes there is even an unopened snowball in the refrigerator. Snowball can be used in baking.
But provided that the delay is no more than 3 days. If it is overdue longer, it is better to throw away such a snowball.
You can bake manna from snowballs and replace kefir. To do this, pour a glass of semolina and a glass of snow, mix and leave so that the semolina swells. Add baking powder or slaked soda, granulated sugar to taste, and salt. Sometimes I add a little flour and an egg.
Bake in a preheated oven.
You can also make pancakes (and in fact almost anything where you can add kefir, just replace the kefir with snowball).
If the snowball is expired by a couple of days, then there is no need to throw it away; you can use it to make pancakes.
Take a snowball, add flour, a little soda, mix everything well, the consistency of the dough should be medium.
Next, heat the frying pan, pour in sunflower oil, and use a spoon to form pancakes. Fry on both sides until golden brown.
You can serve pancakes with jam, jam, sour cream, honey or condensed milk.
Fluffy pancakes at Snezhka. Simple and quick recipe
For most people, breakfast is fundamental. It allows you to saturate the body, charge it with energy and give it the sufficient amount of strength necessary for work. Some people prefer porridge for breakfast, others whip up a sandwich with sausage and cheese.
But there is a category of people who start their day with baking. Today we invite you to prepare amazingly delicious fluffy pancakes on Snezhka. This recipe is a great find for young mothers who quickly need to make breakfast for their tomboyish schoolchildren or capricious kindergarteners.
Benefits of the dish
Now you know how to make delicious kefir pancakes, it’s time to decide on the benefits of such baking in a frying pan. Yes, our pancakes with dried apricots turned out to be quite high in calories, but from the set of products used, that’s what to expect, although each individual ingredient is definitely useful for us. But you can significantly reduce the number of calories if, for example, you replace wheat flour with another type, say whole grain. Or reduce the amount of sugar in the recipe, the benefits will also be more noticeable. And so, in general, just don’t go heavy on the pancakes you’ve prepared and eat them in moderation, so you don’t grumble about the scale numbers later.
Cooking process
Snezhka pancakes have a number of advantages. Firstly, the use of “Snezhka” in the recipe allows you to save on the use of granulated sugar. And the low sugar content in the dish is a significant plus for both your figure and overall health. Secondly, you do not need to use yeast to prepare the dish. Fermented milk products mixed with soda give excellent foam. Pancakes on Snezhka are fluffy and delicious.
To prepare, you will need a deep bowl in which it would be convenient to mix the ingredients. Pour “Snowball” into it and break a chicken egg into it. If you want the pancakes to have a rich yellow color, then add another yolk or use homemade “country” eggs for cooking, which are very yellow in themselves.
Mix the egg mixture and fermented milk drink thoroughly. Gradually add water, a pinch of salt and a tablespoon of sugar. Mix flour and soda in a separate bowl. Then little by little add this dry mixture to the dough.
It is important that the frying pan in which you plan to bake pancakes on Snezhka is well heated. Pour oil. We are waiting for it to warm up thoroughly. In the meantime, you can prepare a glass of water. This is needed to prevent the dough from sticking to the spoon.
Try to pour pancakes away from each other. The dough is liquid and tends to spread a lot. Pancakes poured close together on Snezhka will stick together and you will end up with a pancake. As a rule, about four to five pancakes fit on an average frying pan.
